How did the final play where Betsy was a the foul line unfold. Is it true that they coulda iced the game but missed 2 free throws? If so then all this discussion about the refs doesn’t matter. You gotta hit those shots if you’re playing championship ball. Unfortunately i haven’t had an opportunity to watch the replay. IF those free throws were the difference that’s a tough way to lose.

Apparently. I think LC would have beat them 3 outta 5 easily. Maybe LC is more talented than I gave them credit. I felt like LA got a lucky win on a last second bucket. It’ll be interesting to see LA going forward.

Betsy is also in the opposite side of the bracket and if they win their first round game will be facing the either the Champs or the runner-up from last year in Upperman or SS.

If you don’t think Greeneville or LA making the finals who are you rolling with on that side of the bracket then? Dyer County or South Gibson?

Hey Swipes. . Long time since we’ve had a chat. Hope you’re doing Ok brother. I saw LA play Lin Co and i think they’re the weakest team in the field Lin Co led the whole game and sloppy coaching at the end cost them a Win. I don’t know enough about the other teams in the West but since you pointed it out I’d love to see a rematch between Betsy and the Devils in the Finals. Don’t really expect it to happen but it’d be an awesome Finale.

Don’t sleep on Elizabethton. They have beaten Greenville twice already. I don’t see the green devils making the finals. And i also dont see LA making it either.

Agreed. Sad ending for Ramsey. Apparently she was just another game or 2 away from a 3,000 pt career. She’ll be missed for many years. A fabulously talented 1A player with an amazing career. Hopefully her success will continue at ETSU. I look forward to following her in College. 

What happened to CC? Did they have sick or injured players. I really thought they’d win this game. Any thoughts

I think everyone knows we lost another player, christman to a knee injury.   We're having to play 4 guard now and my daughter came in and hit a 3, had 1 rebound, a steal, and an assist to Benfield.  I was pleasantly surprised at how well she fit in out there.  I'm proud of Eowyn.  She's worked so hard to get to this point.  She was tickled just to be in a game with Ramsey lol

The future looks bright for Cloudland. The season kinda peaked against Hampton. Getting the injured Girl back next season and underclass getting quality playing time is a big plus. Congrats King on ur Kid getting the opportunity to play and contribute. And Yes she’ll always be proud to have shared the court with Ramsey.

Oak Ridge won’t make the State. Jus sayin 

I like Elizabethton to make the State. They’ve gotten consistently better and are healthy.

York's only losses were to 4A Coffee County in a game where they led at the half and to 4A Cookeville, but then beat them in the rematch by 11. York had the 7th toughest schedule and played 7, 4A teams and 7, 3A teams. They only had 8 home games with the other 23 games on the road. They have a Miss Basketball nominee, Reese Beaty. They won the Silver Ball last year beating Gibson County and Gatlinburg-Pittman to reach the finals...and they are a far better team this year, having lost just 1 starter. The State Championship is York’s to Win or Lose. I like their chances based on their performance atp.

Well let’s see what Joe Pat can do going forward. Beating Warren Co isn’t something to get too excited about. He’s got at least 3 D1 starters. If they don’t make the State this year then it’s going to be awhile before he’s got a team this talented.

There was only one Pat Summit. Even her Son couldn’t carry on the Lady Vol Program as the Best in the Country. I think the Harper hire was a desperation move. She’s looking an awful lot like Derek Dooley and Butch Jones. A mid major Coach who can’t get it done on the big stage. Average coaching and average recruiting. There was a time when UT could get ANY Girl from ANYWHERE in the Country and Overseas. Those days are long gone regrettably. We should have gone after an Established D1 coach from South Carolina , Duke, Stanford, etc. But we once again thought an up an coming D2 coach would get us back to being the Premier Program of the Past under Summit. I really like Kelley Harper but she’s not the answer. It’s time to cut her loose and go get a real Coach asap.

Well it’s the History and Tradition that the Program has established going on 3 decades. Nothing wrong with Success. However the Fan Base gets a little uneasy IF you’re Not competing for a Title every Year. I think you guys have a great group to build on this year.

So let’s just let the coaches coach and the kids play and eat some popcorn in the stands and root for our team. 

I’m totally pulling for CC Girls in the Tournament. I live here. I have a disdain for all the Big Metro Schools and their unlimited resources. Im just a little concerned about their preparation and scheduling. Yes all schools play lesser talent. I hope the Raider Girls are successful going forward. They’ve certainly had a Great Season.

That’s a Lofty Prediction. . Hope it happens but i think it’s way too early to predict how a Girl will perform next Season.

They could have “scrambled” to any number of high quality tournaments in East Tn. Going to NH to play a bunch of Grade School Kids is just a Field Trip. Nothing more Nothing less. Glad the Girls got to see a beautiful State. But that week was totally wasted on making them a better team. Tournament time is here. Well find out who’s prepared and who’s not. No doubt CC has the talent to compete with anyone.

Good for You KING. . Must be an awfully proud Dad tonight. I appreciate not only your enthusiasm for the Landers but your straight up analysis on HS sports. I’m a Carter Co native. A little closer to the Unaka side. But i still follow the teams i grew up playing. And my heart is always in the Mtns. Cloudland just AMAZES me that they’re competitive in every Sport but have one of the smallest HS enrollments according to the TSSAA. I’ve always said those Kids from Roan Mtn are just a different breed. And the success they continue to prove on the field and court is commendable. I look forward to seeing how the Girls do in this season’s playoffs and the next few years.

Win regardless of the Coach? How many Gold Balls does Lewis have. I’m pretty sure none atp.
