I mean, I am sure McCallie would prefer to win every weight class if it could.   There is something to be said about a program's progress and direction.  Given where McCallie was last year--and the number of those guys you call "average" that are 8th and 9th graders that finished on the podium this year-- McCallie is headed in the right direction.

Even in this event--McCallie seemed to be taking some steps.  I have not looked at this stat before --but Seed to Place Differential (how the team performed relative to expected performance):

    McCallie +25 (the highest)

    Baylor  +7 (#5 of 26)

    Father Ryan -14 (last - #26 out of 26)

    Like I said, nice job.

HOW BOUT THAT CLEAN SWEEP!!! GO BIG BLUE!!! Not even I saw this coming this year, but it sure does feel nice. Baylor still wouldn’t have won even if they had their delinquents.

The EBE is back to stay! We’ve got some more big boys looking to come in next year in the upper weights. Baylor and the Catholics might need to combine forces to hang with us next year.

Definitely have a winning team formula. The key is having enough average wrestlers to get 3rd in weights where there are only 2 good wrestlers. They are doing it better than the rest. Congrats

Thank you sir! Grateful for our group and glad they get a chance to compete against some of the best.

Prediction for National preps? Top 3 or 4? Top 2 will be hard crack.

Stay out of my threads if you don’t like what I post. Pretty simple. If you come in, take it! Grow up

You know it’s probably a good thing this guy is on the message boards. It’s got to be his way of making himself feel better about himself. Before message boards guys like him had to just knock around women and kids to feel good. Most likely better for everyone he’s just behind a keyboard with one hand down his trousers. Blah blah blah. Hahahaha

Reep would be a good choice and it's my understanding that Roark ask to wrestle against Cooper.  I am not sure that Roark is big enough to wrestle 138lb unless he has really put on the pounds.  Do they have to weigh-in for this event and if so, is it scratch weight or will there be a weight allowance?

Well at least Roark got his wish at Elite 8. There are some fairly good dudes there. Great for everyone involved.

Yes, that's what I have heard from someone in East Tennessee.  Something has to be done about athletes transferring into a boarding school and becoming eligible immediately as this is getting ridiculous.  I guess that Baylor is happy to just go out and buy enough talent to win a state championship.  Do the boarding school teams not gain any satisfaction in developing their own talent?  I ask the question; how many of the wrestlers in The Baylor Schools starting lineup competed for their middle school team?

I honestly didn’t mean to start this nonsense up again. Was just looking for some info. Everyone can just go cut and paste there arguments from a couple of months ago. Sorry.

I'm afraid he wont be able to stay healthy much less the 20 year old starting freshman year. If he can stay healthy he has a good shot at being a National Champion. Also not sure why Iowa State either, they havent been good in a long while so hopefully he will have a few good partners to wrestle with in the room.

Yep, hopefully Iowa State can find someone around his weight to give him a challenge in the room.

    I mean,  they already do.

You guys are going to be so mad when you find out they separate them by age.  Can you believe that?

    8u

    10u

    12u

    14u

    Cadet

    Juniors

You guys are right,  they should make em all wrestle each other regardless of age.  The only way to really crown a state champ that matters.  I'm sure the junior champs are really bummed out that their title is junk now.

    /sarcasm

I guess all that really matters is how they do it in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and California.

There isn't any way to prove that. Just as there isn't any way to prove having 8 divisions would grow the sport.

I want one division because I think if they added another division (probably going to be a small school d2) I don't think its accurate or right to say someone who wins the 152 bracket is on par with Logan Fowler, for instance. It diminishes the value of the titles for the kids who ARE the best in the state.

One state, one tournament, one title.

In who's eyes are they diminished? Yours? Hate to break it to you but it isn't done so you can feel satisfied. Do you really think Fowler feels diminished because there is another state champ in another division. You're a clown.

one state, ten tournaments, medals for everyone!
