Tonight would been a great time to pull out all those Little Smoky Bowl trophies to show everyone for recruiting purposes. I actually saw a program from that game two weeks ago for the game against Powell back on 11-23-67. It would take an awfully dedicated fan to miss Thanksgiving Dinner in order to go watch a 2-6-1 Sevier County football team in the cold weather play Powell High School.

Ol Barn ain’t playing. Thanks for sharing the program with me at Hardee’s this morning.

I really enjoyed us old timers discussing the jamborees and what we think will happen this upcoming season. Maybe next time some of our “fans” from 226 cedar street will join us and get a history lesson.

Hey SS if they stay on the visitors side they aren't broken down or concrete, actually better than the home side.

Secret city has a nice home side. Visitor side blows. Only worse visiting side is Kingsport. Ron wright really should do better.  Fort Craig’s visitor side isn’t much, but it is close to a concession stand with chikfila sandwiches and a lavatory to release the stream.

They sure were piled in to the old Lon C Burchfield last night, some good football was played and some uuuuugly football was played. The Smoky Bears looked really good IMO and the Cougars were a nice surprise playing with the Highlanders....

Maybe the most packed I’ve ever seen it. Had a lot fun watching the local teams play. Me personally I’d rather watch SC play the county teams than lenoir, hva, or east hamilton. Be more fun and a bigger crowd against Northview, GP, PF, or Seymour.

Not even sure where those trophies are. I hope they’re in the trophy cases in the commons area, but I don’t think they are.

I'm looking forward to the county football festival on Friday evening, what say you Murph.....

I’m ready for tonight. Looking forward to seeing all the county teams tonight. It’s fun having all the county together and catching up with old friends.

He could wear a pink thong (Lord, I hope not) out there, as long as he wins football games, right 92? Lol

What makes you think he’s not? East Tennessee is extremely hot and muggy in august, I’m sure he doesn’t want his panty line to show when he’s sweating in those khaki shorts.

At Maryville we jump into a 3-4 when the other team has it second and short to assure that not only do they get the first down but also get five yards along with it. Would somebody please go over to Jim Gaylor's house and get on their knees and beg like a dog for him to come back.

Who’s the DC for the rebels now? Y’all still got the red bank DC on staff?

I wasn't told about the top hat but I was told that he wore flip flops, and I hope that's not true. But if it is true, I'm glad there aren't any pictures available. I don't want to see any coach anywhere wearing flip flops while on the field. However, I was told that the Dragons are for real!

Better than wearing joggers and penny loafers.

I had also heard good things coming out of the confrontation with the MightyWind of Eastern Morristown on Friday night. Looking forward to getting back for some Friday night action under the LED lights....

Murphy I figured out how to fill our spots we're short on at Maryville a long time ago. I get on here and bash the positions we need and all these daddy's that read this stuff puts the house up for sale and moves to Maryville. I've been fussing about the need for some QB's and by gosh somebody from Alcoa moved here across the line. I use Coach T like my on personal Want Ads to help keep the pond stocked over here.

Apparently all sevier county high needed was a positive fan on coach t. Can’t wait to see the winning culture in action. SCHS puts a steady competitive team on the field every week year in and year out. Team 99 has a leader that ignores the fools and leads by example. Region 1-5a you have been warned.

ACT/SAT/TCAP/State Testing/Spelling Bee, whatever it was, it happened. Funny how quickly you come to the defense of those you know and like but are quick to tear down those you don’t like.

I never agree HandbookTV. On anything. But in this case I must say Rang is a gooder coach and gooder person. Everyone needs a bathroom break at some point.

Word on the street is SC found a QB.

That’s the same word at 1200 Dolly Parton parkway. Kid was dropping dimes. Made MurphyCollege look like a moron. Ol Murph been eating crow for four days now. I stopped by the Sam Walton market across the street for some paprika to sprinkle on said crow and some Mountain Dew to wash it down with. Fact is ol Murph is glad to be wrong. I know I’ve said several times the defense does a good job but the offense is lacking. Friday the offense showed up and showed out. Team 99 is looking real strong with a culture created and defended by the leaders on the coaching staff. Sure did have a great time catching up with old friends and watching football on a Friday night at burchfiel stadium. Proud team 99 played so good against a good opponent. I’m predicting big things for team 99 this fall. Time for this old blow hard to shut up and watch the tlove13 culture take over.

Ol Murph brings the #POP and the #LOP to the coach T website every chance he gets.  Unfortunately LMAOc has no #JDIR and tlove13 has not -#JustDoItRght since he’s been back. I remember tlove13 defense giving up 63 (63!!!!) to Joan’s boro. In a playoff game. 63 points. In a playoff game. tlove13 defense was so bad Hayden had to go buy more bottle rockets at half time. Then he got promoted. #JDIR. Or #IWYK #ItsWhoYouKnow. LMAOc comes on board and produces the worst Sevier County offense I can remember.  And BarneySox has showed the coach T fans how bad the smoky bears offense has been in the past. Can’t wait to see the #JPMW #JustProveMurphyWrong in a couple weeks. I really wish jan8675309 would bring back the Steve brewer era. For now the Isaac Thomas school has to settle for #RM #RampantMediocrity. It’s a dern shame when pi phi high has a better fútbol de americańo team than eastgate high. Spencer clack rolling in his grave. Billy Ogle grinning ear to ear.

Yeah Murphy I just had senior moment, I know how he spells it. It's hard to keep up with how folks spell their names now-a-days. Got some in my family I have trouble with.

I understand completely. I have quite a few myself these days. But as snoop Dogg once said, it’s cool to grow old.

And I agree completely on how folks spell their names. It’s like a contest to be the most complicated. Jaysun, Mhat, Byrone, Saoirse. You’d be shocked at how these Anglo-saxons around me spell names.

Do all maryville fans spell like this? I thought it was just stars? Lol

Man you should see how eastgate fans spell. These scotch Irish monkeys have no basic understanding of the alphabet. At all. I can see why Dolly left the first chance she got.

Coach Rang is engaged to be married and they are building a house in Oak Ridge. But I have to admit I've had some of the same thoughts about  "When Derrick goes marching Home". Don't think it will happen though! Getting excited for this season to get started.

    ROLL WILDCATS ROLL

Great post. He may stay in the secret city. It’s a dream job for a lot of coaches. But FYI, learn how to spell Derek if you want to keep him. I sure do wish we would have hired him when we had the chance to.
