    Yeah I’m sure

Clinton would sure like him to leave.  He has wore out his welcome for sure.  The locals have grown tired of his BS.  He talks a big game...recruits some big players...can't win.  The local mob will run him out very soon.

There's a lot that's applied for it for sure but the question is are, they qualified for the job?  Can they relate to the kids at AE?  To be honest, you have to deal with so much more than coaching at AE.

Don’t know names but a Grace assistant, a Karns coordinator and a long time Fulton assistant applied too.  Just talked about this today actually.

Coach Keith should mercy rule them since they are spreading lies about him. Clinton Dragons should schedule Austin Roadrunners and mercy rule them for this. Clinton Dragons will not lose to Walker Mustangs this year either. It will not happen. I guarantee it. Do you want to bet me? I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

Maybe they should. Maybe Coach Keith can get a few of them to move into his basement with the others and still only win 2 games a season.

Who are  the former Vols? Any Ideas? And head coach at Clinton or an assistant?

Marlon Walls, I forget the 2nd one and the Head Coach at Clinton Keith.  Also someone told me a long time assistant from Fulton applied.  Apparently he’s been there for over twenty years and didn’t get a sniff the past two coaching changes?  I don’t know.

The coach that comes to coach Austin Roadrunners will get mercy ruled next season by Alcoa Tornado. I guarantee you it will happen. Whoever coaches the Austin Roadrunners will not be able to mercy rule many teams for the 2024 season. It will not happen. I guarantee it. Watch and see. Do you want to bet me? I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

    Thanks for the update.

I no longer have my inside source, I just know there's a lot of interest in the job.  I haven't heard any names but I'm trying to get some hahah so I can fill yall in..

Talking with a buddy last night who had a lot to do with the last Greenback hire and he was telling me he knows one of the “applicants” and said he hopes he gets it.  Problem is that applicant told him he’s 100% sure he won’t even be considered even though he has one heck of a coaching resume and knows the AD personally.  I’m not saying I think he should or shouldn’t be considered because I don’t know him tbh, but it does raise a question about the hiring process for athletics in this area.  The Good ole boy system is heavily in place for one.  We saw it up here in Greenback!  And 2, I’ve noticed schools hiring a “name” not an actually proven Coach.  Maybe that’s just me I don’t know. But I remember going to AE when I was in school and it was a rowdy fun football atmosphere!  They used to do that chant and hit their pads when they came out! Just menacing!

Now back to the coaching search;  Hearing there's a lot of interest in this job.  Some names you wouldn't believe and some you're like WHO... I'll say we'll hear something by the end of the month.

Who are some surprises?  But who are the WHOES!?

First of all let me let this be known.  I'm not a Manning Fan!  I think Tee Martin did more in one year for UT than Peyton did in 4 and Martin doesn't get the props he deserves.  Now when I'm saying Culture I'm saying Peyton is a good guy and know his x's and o's but I don't think he could relate to the players at AE that's what i'm meaning.  It has nothing to do with Peyton being white nor the type of music he listens too. I just don't think he'll relate to the players.  Before you say, "Its because he's white!"  No sir, AE has white coaches on all of its sports teams and the kids love all of them. Most of the coaches that are white have been at AE for awhile and they relate to the kids well.  The AD is white he's basically been in the community for years as well so color has nothing to do with it before you all go there.  And another thing AE hasn't been down as long as you all are thinking.  I can't wait til we get back to winning 8-9 games a year so you all can quit thinking AE is just a laughable job. and once again the AD is a football guy he will make the right hire no matter the color of their skin nor whatever I'm saying.  I'm just a long time fan and whatever I say on this board means nothing when it comes to coaching searches.

I don’t think it’s a laughable job at all!  I think it’s a potential state champion in waiting actually!  Maybe I worded that the wrong way that’s on me.

  11. I'm reading that the DC as became the HC at South Doyle.  Who do you think Coach Long will add and subtract to his staff at Fulton?  Any former coaches coming back?  Any coaches from other schools coming over?  Did he bring anyone from Grace?

No sir Peyton doesn’t fit the culture .  We don’t like country music at AE

What is the culture at AE?  Serious question.  What I mean by this is the next head coach supposed to be supportive of a certain type of music?  political affilication? Does he have to be of a certain race?  Back to my question of the culture at AE, it seems to me the current "culture" there hasn't produced a positive result in years.  Before you start, I don't mean it needs to be "white washed" so don't go there...what I mean is why hire a coach that is going to "fit" that same culture? Why not hire someone that is going to change it positively?  Just my opinion.

Carter doesn’t support their football coaches with money the way most other KCS schools do. Can’t blame him. Carter hasn’t had 4 straight winning seasons maybe ever.

I have many friends that are coaches in Knox County....What schools are you referring to that "support with money"?  Knox County has a supplement stipend pay scale in place.  How would they manage this?

  14. 13 hours ago, Turtle said:

That question has been brought up in AE's last search.  I mean, a lot of people were screaming Josh Jones was the best candidate for the job back then but he landed at Bearden and AE hired its defensive coordinator  in Mays.   So I understand  the gist of the question but like I said, AE's AD will make best hire because he's a football minded guy.  Have your brother in law to apply if he can relate to the players and school in general, he'll fit right in.  Anyone that gets the job can win and win in his first year.

“Winning in his first year” is exactly what he said! It’s not my brother in law but a friend’s.  He coached against AE last year he said and he literally said just that about them! He said he would love a chance to coach the QB (forgot his name). He said he coached at another inner city school (won’t name it) and he might be a better athlete than the ones they had there winning championships. We went through a terrible coaching change here and ended up with a buddy buddy hire that will never work.  This is always tough.

AE's AD is a white man who is a football guru.  His specialty is football.  He will make the right hire no matter the color of the person who gets it.  He wants AE to be a top notch program in every sport, so just sit back and watch him work his wonders.

I believe you.  I’m sure he will.  I honestly was just asking.  No racial meaning behind it.  But I went on Tssaa to research all the head coaches but I didn’t come up with anything so I figured someone would know.  A good friend of mines brother in law is a football coach and she said he was talking about all the openings in the area if he would ever apply any what not. We were wanting him to apply at Greenback but they already had their minds made up before any “hiring” processes started here.  Thanks for answering my question!

Just had this discussion yesterday with an Alumni, but Yes there have been.  Bob Poston was the football coach at AE 1968-1969 and went 16-2 as the coach of the Roadrunners.  . Poston left after that to go to rival Rule High School

Any chance someone like that would apply again?  Again..serious question.
