Lincoln county didn't have a bad night and was ready to play. Tullahoma just played well and took that game. Sometimes teams have to figure out their identity and it's Coaches second year so he had some things to figure out as well. Not saying they've figured it all out and will win a state championship, but they'll be a team that you won't want to see later in the season. It also just shows Lincoln isn't untouchable and can be beat any given night by any team. Sometimes you have to give credit where credit is due. I have been critical of Coach Hibdon, but I've also had discussions with him to his face. At the end of the day the girls won and it was fun to watch and I'm happy they're figuring themselves out. As far as the upper cumberlands they're not untouchable, we just have to be better that night and we move on.

That is good as I hope for a good game when we play in January.

Tullahoma Lady Cats beat lincoln county tonight! Tullahoma looked much improved tonight. They fought the whole game and were rewarded with a big win. Keep up the great work ladies, keep grinding and getting better!!

That is surprising.  Lincoln County has a chance to make a run at the state tournament.  Tullahoma has looked bad the two times I have seen them play this season.  Just goes to show you that anything can happen on any night if you are not ready to play.  Have to believe Lincoln County will make a deep run and from what I have seen early on I do not think Tullahoma is good enough to make it out of their region, with so many better coached teams in the Upper Cumberlands.

    My interview with Sable Winfree:

In hindsight she should have gone to White County.  This is a lot of Middle School small town political drama being put out in a newspaper article and it just does not make a lot of sense to air all the dirty laundry.  All I can think about is all those applicants who are probably counting their blessings on not taking the job in Warren County last Spring.

Finally got a chance to see the Warren girls play last night, and had heard about all of the drama in the program with the new coach, and boy is she out of her element. No adjustments, no strategy and let Dekalb hit 10 or 12 threes before pulling out of a 2-3 zone. After switching to man it didn’t get much better.. complete breakdown in fundamentals and it starts at the top.

I’ve never seen anything quite like it, she probably played 12 kids last night for spurts, killing momentum multiple times. At one point she subbed out her big who had 7 straight points, and subbed her back in way later killing her rhythm. She did this multiple times, after kids would hit a big shot or be in a groove they would sit. There is no offensive scheme that I seen, they just recklessly drive up the court and outside of a couple players, they seem completely lost on offense and defense.

They will be lucky to win 5 games this year and that’s being generous. Also heard the director of schools is intervening due to the enormous amount of complaints coming in from the players and their families. Couple that with the suspicious dismissal of the Winfree girl, I dont see how Stotts makes it out of her first year as a high school coach.

Hard to believe that a 20+ win team can fall this far in a matter of months. They lost a lot of kids last year, but had decent talent this year coming back and from the feeder schools. I know the hiring of Stotts also was shrouded in drama.. Warren messed this one up like they always seem to do.

Did she not develop all the young talent?  What direction should they go in if they move on after one year of the current coach?  If I’m not mistaken, didn’t the old coach leave the program knowing they were going to struggle for a few years?  They should be happy to have someone who wants to be there and wants the job, just my opinion.  They aren’t going to be better than Coffee County or Lincoln County anytime soon.

  5. Lincoln County is putting a clinic on In Fayetteville.  After one half Lincoln County has put up 40 points and Tullahoma looks like they have not ever stepped foot on a basketball floor to play defense.  Lincoln County has to be shooting 70% from three and Tullahoma has not defended anything beyond the arc.   Lincoln might score 90 points if they wants to tonight.

coasted to a 20 point win, Tullahoma looks like they do not want to be on the floor with each other.  Lot of conflict on bench with coach and players, could be trouble in year two.

Holman left already? like during the season lol? wow I would've gone to Tullahoma over going back to FC

Tullahoma girls were trying to leave during the summer to go to Coffee County.  Looks like Tullahoma and Franklin County both are places nobody really wants to be.

Going to be a long rebuilding process for whoever gets the job im afraid.

Looks like rebuilding might be easier with Holman leaving Coffee County to transfer back to Franklin County.  Has Coach Cope lost his recruiting touch? He could not get the post from Tullahoma in the summer and then lost the forward from Webb and now loses Holman.

  8. Livingston Academy is poised to make another run at the state championship they looked very seasoned.  I was very very impressed with their play last night.  Cumberland County had a good win last night also.  Coffee County did not miss a beat even without their dominant post player, winning easily by double digits.  Plan to watch Upperman this week and see if they are as advertised.

Idk exactly but heard winfree got kicked off the team. Sounds like bunch of drama between coach and players and parents and administration.

I saw where they finally got a win versus Franklin County.  The girls program in Franklin County must be in a rebuild.

You seen Creekwood this year?? I seen where Cheatham County beat them. Didn't know if Cheatham was that good or it was an off night for Creekwood. I thought I heard Creekwood was supposed to be pretty good. We have them Friday Night at their place.

I have not seen Creekwood but they are usually a pretty well coached team with shooters.  Hard to tell how teams are right after Thanksgiving with practices, tournaments, injuries and everything else the holiday season can bring.  Good luck Friday.

Coffee County looked pretty good when I say them over the holiday. Their post has size and can play. If you collapse to help with her they have guards that can make you pay.

Did you see them versus Blackman?  I saw where they beat Blackman, I think Blackman will be one of those teams nobody will want to play at the end of the year as they will just keep getting better each week.

  12. Lincoln County looked very impressive last night versus a tough Lawrence County team.  Lincoln County looked like they had a couple players injured but still found a way to beat a Lawrence County team that just hung around.  I have not seen Murfreesboro Central play this season but from what I have been told I think it will come down to that last game of the year between Magnet and Lawrence County for first place.  Lincoln County should be able to push Coffee County, but I still think Coffee County has the depth and skill to beat a well coached Lincoln County basketball team.

CC has great guard play and they have a post that makes it easy for them.  Their guards are all relatively young and should be good for a few years.  But as the previous post said it is always the same story, can they can get it done in February and March?

Lincoln County has looked very good early on and I would see Coffee County and Lincoln County being the favorites in their region and both making sectionals.

Has anyone seen Shelbyville?  I’ve heard they are much improved.  I’ve also been told Columbia is a fun team to watch, but I have yet to see them in action.  I might try to get down to Lawrence County and see what they have this season.  They have graduated a lot of talent over the last few years so it’ll be interesting to see how they rebuild a once dominant program.

Good 20+ win for Coffee over McMinn today.

The real test will be versus Bradley.  Thing with Coffee County is they have all these blowouts and then when they get in a tight ballgame the consensus is they are not prepared to handle it, especially away from their home gym.  Coaching also comes into play when tight games happen, we all have seen how Coach Cope does in close games.
