  1. The answer is yes she has played with the team all year and will be with them at nationals, no she wasn't brought in as a hired gun to beat KGC, and it is a ridiculous question to ask if the Flight would have won without her, just as it would be ridiculous to ask if KGC would have gotten beat worse if one of their great players wasn't on the team. Congratulations to all of these wonderful girls on your state championship and #4 nationals seed. It's too bad some people have to look for conspiracy theories instead of giving the team its proper respect.

  4. All Team Memphis Elite final. The Flight-Wilson team beat the Elite-Buggs team by 5 i believe. We will have complete results on sunsday at teammemphiselite.org
  5. Many of the FCA players play on the Memphis Flight team. Their very successful coach, Jeff Little, decided to take a break from coaching AAU. The team also has former players from the Elite program and other programs in the Memphis area
  6. The west substate brackets were sent to the state AAU site but never posted. All brackets on the teammemphiselite.org site are accurate
  7. Great finish. BA by one 43-42 I believe was the final. The webcast was great. Is that archived or will it repeat?
  8. Congratulations White Station and Yo-Yo. Good luck in the Regionals
  9. Yes we were out two starters for that game. Our other starting guard had a concussion from the previous night's game. We felt like we would have been able to beat Siegel at full strength, but they are a fine team, so who knows. I think I sat next to you at the Siegel-Ridgeway game at the Shelbyville play days. Best of luck to your team....
  10. Thanks for all of the support, we needed every bit of it. That was an interesting situation at the table to say the least. The 2 parents working the clock and book had a total of 3 kids on the floor. It was not a good situation, from points not being put on the scoreboard for Lausanne, to the clock starting and stopping in a way to favor the home team, and the foul discrepancy you mentioned. At best, it was a conflict of interest. At worst, i'll let you and others who were there call it what you will. I know what i saw.... Host schools have an obligation to create a neutral atmosphere when they are hosting tournaments of this nature. Lausanne had to defeat a very good and well coached Briarcrest team, the scorer's table, and a ref or two. But they got it done....
  11. No seniors for Lausanne and a nice group of freshman who have contributed and are getting better. SBEC was the only team that gave them a game, but Harding is coming into small division, and they have some very good players, many of them young, and excellent coaches. There will be plenty of competition next year in small division.
  12. Yes, she had a foot injury that kept her out for 3-4 weeks from mid November to mid December. She was not able to play at all in the Columbia Thanksgiving Tournament, and barely played against Brentwood Academy.
  13. When are the semi's and finals for this tournament and where is it being played?
  14. Thanks Philtenn, and congrats to the White Station Lady Spartans, who also had a nail biter it sounds like against Wooddale. Good luck Wednesday against Ridgeway.....
  15. Lausanne defeated Briarcrest in the West Region Division 2 semi-finals held at Briarcrest in a 58-57 overtime thriller. Congratulations to the Lynx players and coaches for an excellent effort, withstanding a great performance by the Briarcrest Lady Saints. The game was close from the beginning, and Lausanne came from 6 points down late in regulation to send it to overtime, and 4 points down in overtime. Lausanne was led by D2 Miss Basketball nominee Freshman Lauren Avant's 20 points and Junior Sharwil Bell's 15 points and 10 rebounds. This insures Lausanne of its first state tournament visit, the first of what is sure to be many to come. Good job coaches and players....and of course the fans.
  16. Harding is it for West Tennessee. There will be 10 total teams in the West and 5 will go to the state tournament
  17. Briarcrest won by forfeit over Catholic, Rossville beat Hutchinson, Harding beat St Mary's, Lausanne beat St Georges, ECS beat FACS, St Benedict beat Immaculate Conception, SBEC beat Bishop Byrne, and St Agnes beat Tipton Rosemark. The winners on each line face each other at Briarcrest on Friday afternoon starting at 4:00pm
  18. That bracket is wide open to me. A potential SBEC/St Agnes game would be a great game. Both teams have great fundamentals and play hard. I would give the winner of that game the slight edge over a potential ECS/St Benedict winner, but like many teams it just depends on which team shows up that day. Most of the large division teams 2-5 played each other to close games, so they can all be dangerous. However, SBEC can compete with any of those teams. Whoever can make it to the final has a trip to the state tournament no matter what, and the loser of the semifinal has a tough 3rd place game to try to join them. SBEC needs to focus on Bishop Byrne who has improved greatly. I think this will be their 4th time playing them, and the last couple have been competitive games I believe. Good luck....
  19. The #3 from the West plays #1 from the Middle which should be Brentwood Academy or Pope John Paul. I'm sure they would rather face the #2 as Lausanne beat Brentwood earlier in the year and Briarcrest beat JP. The #2 from West gets the easier draw against #2 East which should be Girls Prep. #1 from the West probably gets Webb in the semi-finals which will be a tall task....
  20. It punishes the loser of the semi final games between the #1's. because they have to bounce back and play the 3rd place game to qualify for state, and even then they can do no better than 3rd seed from the West. I'd much rather have SBEC's path to the finals than Lausanne's, and Lausanne beat them twice. The AD's had their chance to get it right this year, and surely should have been able to see this coming, but chose to do nothing.
  21. I can save you a lot of time. It makes no sense so don't try to make sense of it. The #1 teams from the small division, Lausanne for the girls and St Georges for the boys, are actually seeded 4th in the tournament, so they will more than likely face the #1 from the large division, Briarcrest for the girls and ECS for the boys, in the semi-finals. Which means the loser can do no better than 3rd in the region. The #2 seeds in both large and small have easier paths to the state tournament. The responsibility for this lies entirely with the athletic directors of the D 2 schools in West Tennessee. This will be the last year of this because next year the small schools have their own state tournament. Both Lausanne and St Georges deserve to go to the state tournament, and hopefully this joke of a seeding system doesn't end up costing either of them a well deserved spot in the big dance.....
  22. I haven't seen it online but i do know the games start tomorrow with the girls first round games being hosted at the higher seeds' home gyms. All games start at 7pm
  23. Can't wait for the big game. Congrats to both teams playing for the city championship. We have so many friends on both teams I won't know who to pull for, so I guess I will just sit back, get some popcorn, and pull for everyone to play well and stay healthy for the upcoming tournaments. And then get accused of pulling for the wrong team....lol .
