  1. I played for Coach Miller when he was an assistant at Munford. As far as coaching, he is very knowledgeable and I enjoyed playing for him. As far as what he has done at Covington, I don't know much other than he has had some success. I'm in middle TN now so I don't see as much baseball down there. My step-brother played on the 98 Charger team and they were very talented, probably more talented than the 99 state championship team, they just didn't get the job done. I think Coach Pavette was a great coach, but he wasn't exactly loved by everyone in Covington either. It's very hard to please everyone no matter where you are, especially in Covington. I'll be interested to see what happens in the next few years, though.
  2. I don't think that you can count Munford out of at least being in the hunt to make it to state. They have been the past three years, a feat that not many teams have ever accomplished in AAA. There pitching hasn't quite come along yet but if if it does they will have another solid year. I think it's a long shot for them to make it a fourth straight year with the strength of some of the Shelby county teams this year, but most considered it a long shot for them to make it to the past three also. These guys are used to winning and they know how to win and that goes along way when it gets close to the postseason. Remember this is a team that would have at least two state championships in the past three years if not for a certain team by the name of Farragut.
  3. Well this is my first post. I've been reading the messages on these boards for quite some time now and I finally registered so that I can do my own posting. As far as best coaches go, I'd have to put Clark as the top of the list and also Pharr at Farragut for turning them into a national powerhouse. Densford at Munford was/is a great coach but was forced out. Pavette at Briarcrest (formerly Covington) is also an outstanding coach.
