1. The April 17 Maryville Times reports:

"Bearden has hit us a lot harder than Farragut has," Wilhite said. "In our district, they're the best offensive team we've seen."

So there. Its not just me and cruiser and all the other Bearden fans who know that we're gonna beat the hadmirals on Monday. William Blount and every other team in district knows that we are the better men. farragut got lucky the first time and just squeaked past us. This time we beat you. And after that William Blount's gonna take its turn too.

Farragut 10, Bearden 4...ouch. This is another example of why you do your talking with performance on the field. If you are good, you don't have to tell folks. They will figure it out.

  2. As found Thursday, 4/17 on the Hville baseball website: http://www.eteamz.com/hhsbaseball/

    5. LaVergne (2-7) Wins:H,H Losses: MJ,MJ,S,S,B,B,WC

    6. Wilson Central (2-3) Wins: G,L Losses: G,MJ,MJ

    7. Hendersonville (3-5) Wins: G,S,S Losses: G,B,B,L,L

  3. Not to take anything away from Lavergne because its pretty tough to sweep a team in our district but I think H'Ville had played 2 games against Beech earlier in the week and threw there number 1 and 2 then. Now Lavergne still might of beat them but I don't think by that much if they would have had there 1 and 2 starter.

A split would not have been unreasonable to expect, but I was really surprised that the Commandos were swept by LaVergne. Of course, now Hville has turned around and swept Smyrna. Also understand that Gallatin shut out Beech last night, 5-0. Ain't baseball beautiful?

  4. Farragut is always good...They are like the maryville of football only in baseball...but this year the powell panthers are way better and way more talented than the farragut admirals...whenever they play powell will make Farragut look like a bunch of fifth grade girls...BANK ON IT!!! Throw some D's on it...

Fifth grade girls are obviously tougher than I realized then.

I'm hoping the Powell players won't be taking Farragut as lightly as panther93.

  5. Leaving runners on is not half as scarry as errors....multiply errors at that!.....

Absolutely, DBmom. Errors and walks by the pitchers......just ask Franklin, Smyrna, and Bradley Central. They were killed by BB's and E's.

  6. QUOTE(BARTLETTHSGRAD04 @ May 22 2007 - 10:09 PM) 826464898Eagle i know Bartlett held Franklin to 4 hits tonight and bartlett had 12 left on base. You can listen to the game on www.wvwt.com and click on basketball/baseball click on kptr broadcast after that and then it will give u link to the game.

Thanks, BartlettGrad. I wish I had time to listen to the game; got to be at work early. Bartlett's pitching must have been tough because Franklin can stroke it.

  7. QUOTE(eagle26 @ May 22 2007 - 04:00 PM) 826464652The pitchers had better NOT be "too bad" because I've seen Franklin swing the bats (and, no, I'm not from Franklin nor an FHS fan).

I hear Bartlett can hit also. Here's hoping they come in and take the Rebels for granted as several on these boards seem to be doing.

Bartlett wins 7-1. I hear Hatfield hit a 3-run jack. Kudos to the Bartlett pitching.

  8. QUOTE(utcgolf @ May 22 2007 - 09:49 PM) 826464874Rhodes pitched a great game for Smyrna. Smyrna wins 2-1. Sonny on the mound against South Doyle!

    Congratulations, Smyrna.

Anyone know how they got their runs?

  9. QUOTE(7inningparadise @ May 22 2007 - 09:23 PM) 826464847no, he will pitch tommorrow vs South Doyle, man what a matchup, Holland vs Gray, 2 absoulute studs

What kind of stats for Holland? Is he a senior? If so, is he playing college ball and where?

  10. QUOTE(bhsbaseball @ May 22 2007 - 12:15 PM) 826464578well they have 3 guys that are a combined 23-2 so i would say their pitching isnt too bad

The pitchers had better NOT be "too bad" because I've seen Franklin swing the bats (and, no, I'm not from Franklin nor an FHS fan).

I hear Bartlett can hit also. Here's hoping they come in and take the Rebels for granted as several on these boards seem to be doing.

  11. QUOTE(PROUDTOBEAPANTHER @ May 19 2007 - 08:29 AM) 826462719Way to go Bartlett!!! That was a good game. Congrts. to ALL the players and fans. See you all there!

What do you think about that opening draw? (Franklin)

  12. QUOTE(5743 @ May 18 2007 - 11:33 PM) 826462540.......With Oakland's loss the door is wide open for SD.

Anyone who really understands baseball knows that the "door is wide open" for eight AAA teams coming to Murfreesboro. Clearly, SD is a good baseball team, but they will do themselves an injustice if they come into this looking past Cleveland, Smyrna, Houston (not to mention clubs like Franklin, Bartlett, Science Hill, and Bradley Central).

  13. QUOTE(BBC @ May 19 2007 - 08:55 AM) 826462730T Hill did a good job lastnight. I have seen him better. Defense definitely did not help him but Joseph, Dykes and Dobbins all hit really good pitches last night their hits happen to come at the right time. Right behind a few walks & those nasty errors. Hill has made a good choice in colleges and will prosper greatly under the watchful eye of Derek Johnson (Vandy)

Fine season, MJ. Hill's a top notch kid from a great family. Wish them all the best.
