  1. Agree with Coach P, no pushovers left now. I'll take a flyer and pick Science Hill but no disrespect to the Halls club.
  2. Sets up a couple of great Sectional games. Hoping for good weather Friday night!
  3. Farragut 10, Bearden 4...ouch. This is another example of why you do your talking with performance on the field. If you are good, you don't have to tell folks. They will figure it out.
  4. As found Thursday, 4/17 on the Hville baseball website: http://www.eteamz.com/hhsbaseball/ District 9AAA Standings 1. Mt. Juliet (5-2) Wins: L,L,S.WC,WC Losses: S,B 2. Beech (6-3) Wins: MJ,L,L,H,H,G Losses: S,S,G 3. Smyrna (6-4) Wins: B,B,MJ,L,L,G Losses: MJ,G,H,H 4. Gallatin (4-4) Wins: H,WC,S,B Losses: H,WC,S,B 5. LaVergne (2-7) Wins:H,H Losses: MJ,MJ,S,S,B,B,WC 6. Wilson Central (2-3) Wins: G,L Losses: G,MJ,MJ 7. Hendersonville (3-5) Wins: G,S,S Losses: G,B,B,L,L
  5. A split would not have been unreasonable to expect, but I was really surprised that the Commandos were swept by LaVergne. Of course, now Hville has turned around and swept Smyrna. Also understand that Gallatin shut out Beech last night, 5-0. Ain't baseball beautiful?
  6. Fifth grade girls are obviously tougher than I realized then. I'm hoping the Powell players won't be taking Farragut as lightly as panther93.
  7. I hear that Beech won this one 8-4. Surprised that no one has written anything about it. Anyone see this game? Any reports? Who pitched, and who had a good night at the plate?
  8. Thanks for the helpful info, tarheelblue.
  9. Siegel 11-0 over Gallatin. Serious offense! (or poor Gallatin defense?) What's anyone know about this Siegel team? Strong junior/senior laden team?
  10. Overton and MJ are 2 typically good programs. I believe MJ will be challenging for district and regional honors, if not beyond; but hey, it's baseball so we'll see how things play out.
  11. Thanks, BartlettGrad. I wish I had time to listen to the game; got to be at work early. Bartlett's pitching must have been tough because Franklin can stroke it.
  12. Bartlett wins 7-1. I hear Hatfield hit a 3-run jack. Kudos to the Bartlett pitching.
  13. Congratulations, Smyrna. Anyone know how they got their runs?
  14. What kind of stats for Holland? Is he a senior? If so, is he playing college ball and where?
  15. Sounds like Bartlett hit the baseball and must have gotten good pitching as well. Details anyone?
  16. The pitchers had better NOT be "too bad" because I've seen Franklin swing the bats (and, no, I'm not from Franklin nor an FHS fan). I hear Bartlett can hit also. Here's hoping they come in and take the Rebels for granted as several on these boards seem to be doing.
  17. I'll take Smyrna, but we're down to the Final 8 and Houston has had a great program, so it's not pushover. If Sonny doesn't have his best stuff, look for a tight one.
  18. Are you simply pointing out the similarity, or did you mean to say more?
  19. What do you think about that opening draw? (Franklin)
  20. Anyone who really understands baseball knows that the "door is wide open" for eight AAA teams coming to Murfreesboro. Clearly, SD is a good baseball team, but they will do themselves an injustice if they come into this looking past Cleveland, Smyrna, Houston (not to mention clubs like Franklin, Bartlett, Science Hill, and Bradley Central).
  21. Fine season, MJ. Hill's a top notch kid from a great family. Wish them all the best.
  22. Is there a Houston, Brighton score?
  23. Final: 12-3 Franklin. The Rebels can swing the bats! Added to that, MJ had at least 6 errors.
