  1. I agree. I saw these girls for the first time last year and they have matured quite a bit. If they practice hard and work on their games individually, and possibly learn the game, I believe they can advance to the Nationals. They could really use some outside shooting and a few more plays. They all appear to have great attitudes, good sportmanship and enjoy playing the game. I heard they are from the Nashville area. Are they the only AAU team representing Nashville? Congratulations to all the teams that advanced to the Nationals. Go Trotters!
  2. Where can I find the schedule (brackets) for this weekend's state tournament in Memphis?
  3. I'm not familiar with the charles davis team, we've never played them, but some of you must really dislike them and their style of play. I acknowledged the TN Express are a very fundamentally sound basketball team, but looking at the number of times they make free throw attempts vs. opponents, it "appears" very unbalanced. As far as being adults, I agree some on this site should not label the children with unflattering labels and name calling. Aggressive play, not wild play, doesn't always lead to fouls, unless the officials just don't like that style of basketball. Again, the TN Express, the Storm, and several other teams in the tournament are very good teams, but, listening to several fans this past weekend, there was a general consensus that some of the officiating was not up to par. In fact, a couple of officials were admonished.
  4. No, I'm not kidding. They don't have to be from Shelbyville or Murfreesboro to receive "home cooking". I agree, they are very fundamentally sound, but the free throw margin against other teams is completely unreasonable. In fact, what was the free throw margin of most of the teams they played in this tournament compared to those same teams against other teams in the tournament? They tied for 13th place because the games were called impartially at that level. I spoke with several fans this past weekend and the same comments always come up about that team. Again, I find it highly unlikely, at this level and age group the free throw margin would be 30 or more to 0. That's a perfect game! They never fouled, come on!!
  5. There may not be close point games, but what I've noticed the past 2 years, the TN Express are the recipients of "home cooking, in their Hometown". They get other teams in foul trouble very early in the game, I mean, in 1 and 1, situations. It is very unlikely, highly unlikely, that a group of girls at that age level, can play the "perfect game" and not commit any shooting fouls against the other team. I imagine if a film of the game was shown to a truly "impartial" group of referees, the outcome would be completely different. I advise my daughter, not to be concerned with "adults" that undermine other children to elevate their children. Basketball should be fun and also teach life skills but, when playing against the TN Express, basketball is not fun, and the only life skills taught, is that life is still unfair and one-sided. Children who are not allowed to "struggle" a little and experience a little hardship, will have difficulty when the real world doesn't serve "home cooking".
  6. Where can I find the result of the state tournament this past weekend in Memphis--10u teams?
  7. Since the Cookeville Ladies and Team Pride were in the finals, they both obviously beat the Charles Davis Foundation. How did the Charles Davis Foundation compete against these teams? I didn't get to go to any games this past weekend, but I've seen the Charles Davis Foundation play the Cookeville Ladies twice, both times a very close game.
  8. Didn't get to come to the Super Regionals tonight in Shelbyville. How did the 10u do? I'll be there tomorrow. Who's looking good? Who's the sleeper?
  9. I saw the Charles Davis Foundation play this past weekend. They seem to be pretty good--maybe a good team to watch. I believe they will be back this weekend for the Super Regionals.
