Gomab2, What are the exact details of this "state" championship? How many teams will you be inviting and what college venue in Nashville will be utilized? What will be the entry fee and will the Midstate Ballerz be considered the host team? I know, lots of questions! Also, what showcase tournament in Atlanta, GA in July will your 17U Select team be participating in? What is the name of the tournament?

The updated schedule of the Midstate Ballerz Challenge of Champions does NOT include the Memphis Pump 'n Run or the Murfreesboro Stars. Why did they decide not to attend this tournament?

I just saw the schedule and I must say that this looks like a pretty exciting weekend of basketball. There are a lot of quality teams and tons of interesting matchups. It should be a great weekend of basketball!

The game times listed are central standard time, correct?

What teams will be competing in the 17U division? Compared to other AAU/Showcase tournaments held in TN, where would this specific tournament rate as far as exposure for the kids and high-level competition? Looking at some of the teams on the Midstate Ballerz website, it looks as if this tournament will be a top-notch tournament in TN.

What is the name of the 3rd "live" event in July for the Select team? What are the dates and where will it be located?

Are there any AAU/Traveling Teams in TN entered/going to enter in the Breakdown Hoops Festival in Miami, FL on July 13-15? It seems like it will be a good showcase tournament and a great way to close the showcase season since it is during the "live" period. Gomab, Is this a tournament you are looking at for any of your Midstate Ballerz teams? Also, are you adding any tournaments to the 17U Select schedule or is it pretty much set? Congrats to your 17U Elite & Select teams for winning their respective substates!

I have just learned that the 15U AAU State Tournament will be held at Goodpasture High School in Nashville, TN on May 20-22.

Does anyone know where the AAU 15U State Tournament will be held? I know it is in Nashville on May 20-22, but what specific venue in Nashville will it be played at?

The Midstate Ballerz do have two 17U teams in the state. I agree, it looks as if they will make a pretty good run. The Elite team has more height and have already proven to be one of the best AAU/Traveling teams in the state this summer. Going unnoticed though is the Select team. The Select team is starting to play more tournaments, but it looks as if they will play the bulk of their tournaments in July. Jonathan Dye and Jordan Dixon (Clinton High School) are two of the better guards in the state outside of Nashville and when you put them with other solid guards/forwards from Middle Tennessee, it makes for a pretty good Select team. The Select team brings a lot of quickness, ballhandling ability, and court savvy. It should be an interesting state tournament, but I would be shocked if the Elite did not walk away with the championship.

Great weekend of action at the East Sub-State. The team most capable of getting hot from behind the 3-point line from the East Sub-State is KAYA White. They are a smaller team, but are able to break teams down off the dribble and create open 3-point looks for their shooters. They are also well-versed in making more free-throws than their opponents attempt. In Sunday's championship game, KAYA White was in the double bonus in both halves before the TN Travelers made it to the one and one. KAYA White is a very dangerous team!

The TN Travelers beat the Blount County Bullets by 25+ Saturday morning at Heritage High School and beat KAYA Red by about 20, so that averages out to more than 20 points as an average margin of victory for the Travelers. Did you not see the game against the Blount County Bullets? It was not even close; the starters only played 4 minutes in the second half!

Does anyone know how the Midstate Ballerz did at the Real Deal on the Hill this weekend? Who played well and who has shown improvement since last weekend? Also, congratulations to the Midstate Ballerz 17-U Select team who won the AAU Substate in Fayetteville, TN. I heard it was an entire team effort, but that Jonathan Dye from Clinton really stood out!

The TN Travelers schedule for next weekend is as follows: 15-U: AAU Substate (Maryville, TN) 16-U: Houston Kingwood Classic (Houston, TX) 17-U: Houston Kingwood Classic (Houston, TX)

You are exactly right, but I do not believe the TN Travelers took the K.A.Y.A. team lightly; K.A.Y.A. utilized their quickness and pressure defense and created offensive opportunities for themselves. They played extremely hard and aggressive, but could not get the defensive effort late that they needed. For the TN Travelers, Jordan Damron (#5), from Maryville, hit seven 3-pointers and had an impressive all around floor game. Tyrone Caldwell (Clarksville), Quinche Dowdell (Oak Ridge), Josh Gregory (Webb), and Chandler Gross (Shelbyville) also played extremely well for the Travelers. Both teams played extremely hard and represented their respective organizations in a first class manner!

Although I have not heard if the Midstate Ballerz 17-U Select has played well to not to start the AAU season, I know they will be tough with the guard tandem from Clinton High School (Jonathan Dye and Jordan Dixon). Dye is going to be one of the top 2 guards in East TN and Dixon continues to improve daily. Looking at the 17-U Ballerz Elite team, I feel as though Dye and Dixon would be excellent backups or complimentary players to the likes of Willie Kemp, Deon Gaines, and Brandon Evans. If this move is made, I feel as though the Midstate Ballerz 17-U Elite team will have enough depth and great guard play to place high in both the nationals and state, along with playing well in the showcase tournaments! Something to think about!

Yes. The Tennessee Travelers 15U team will be playing at their host tournament this weekend at Carson Newman College (Smokey Mountain Classic).

The Tennessee Travelers 15U team went 2-1 at the Nike Boo Williams Invitational. The one game they lost was by two in overtime. Everyone on the team showed positive improvement and everyone on the team had flashes of brilliance, but the three (3) players who stood out are listed as follows: Tyrone Caldwell (Clarksville) Quinche Dowdell (Oak Ridge) Jordan Damron (Maryville) These are three players that I would definitely keep my eye on!
