  1. Im going to say Riverdale 35 Lincoln County 14

This Riverdale teams seems to play according to the potential of the opponent. The Warriors against Smyrna haven't been seen in the last few games. I hope they get in gear and bring their A game with Coach A. You will see them at Blue Cross Bowl if they can stay focused.

  2. I thought WC gathering on the arrowhead was hilarious, although that probably is just because I'm from Warren County too...I felt like they did it to get their own intensity, not to tick off Riverdale, but I would imagine it did tick Riverdale off as it would me if someone did that in our stadium. I know several of the players and know that hardly anyone in WC had any confidence for tonight, which may have really hurt them during preparing for tonight. Maybe they'll remember that 1st quarter come this time next year and know that they can play with anyone.

As a warrior fan, I thought it was great. There wasn't much hype about this game and it helped to step it up a bit.

  3. #50 I'll grant you can make plays but unfortunately he is miserable in the classroom. And that matters nowadays as far as the NCAA is concerned. Too Bad!!!! Everybody keeps ignoring #43, a kid with HEART and ability. Watch what happens; he WILL play college ball and he is SMART in the classroom!!! He has been recruited already by 3 schools and is going to a school in Kentucky Saturday to visit. #56 will also play college ball somwhere. The days of stupid jocks are over; they have to make the grades as well as play the game!

I would say that #50 is anything but stupid. Check his ACT, I believe he has already qualified for entrance to Vandy as well as others. As far as 43 and 56, good luck to them both. Shame you can't wish it for the rest of your hometown boys.

  4. Yes... But it came down to numbers. Warren Co had some great kids who played hard. But a lot of them played both ways, even on special teams. #50 was amazing! Made a lot of tackles and on one play in particular, ran down the field instead of giving up and when the tailback stopped to make a cut behind a block, tackled him from behind. It was only a distance of 3 or 4 yards but covered that ground in a hurry! I think his name was Dunn? Is anyone looking at him???

How many seniors does Warren Co lose off of this team?

Dunn happens to be the first cousin of Riverdale #64 Michael Pope. He is visiting MTSU tomorrow. Has visited Vandy several times, Louisville, Auburn, Kentucky and TTU. He has a younger brother Casey who was #11 for WC.

  5. And try not to get run over or rear ended. Church St/Hwy 231 there has some of the most wrecks of a road that size of any in Tn. :)

The road the school is on is 'Warrior Drive' naturally. You pass the atheletic dorms on the way there. They will be on the left masquerading as 'Apartment Complexes'. B)

Parking is difficult and you will have a walk if you aren't there by 6:00.

  6. yeah i remeber the big wooo from the crowd when that core was announced my freind and i were already starting to talk about oiut trip up there and if wanted to stay the night or what then the score came over the PA and we werre like ok...plan B

Riverdale gets a blow out. Let's hope Coach A doesn't get greedy and leave the starters in so long. They need to stay healthy for the long run.

  7. i wasnt griping i didnt even bring it up 2P said we need to watch those personal foulor unsportsmanship and i defended our guys on what i saw.....

Pat4life i guess the same could be ssid for yall touchdowns...we had a defender all over shane all he had to do was play the ball or interferre better than he did LOL and that 40 yard or so TD isnt there and you had the fumble return for a TD wasnt even on our defense as far as the saftey i wasnt on the line so i dont know where his FORWARD progress was before he was pushed back i just want you to rember that it is his forward progress and not where he goes down if he goes backwards.

\Bacilllium we didnt blitz that much yesterday we did blitz some but it wasnt anything like we usually do. as far as stat yall had 3 yards rushing and a tad over 100 yards passing and we had almost 400 yards rushing Scott had like 178 yards rushing(WGNS avent looked at the paper yet)and your last sentence comfirmed my initial outlook of the game ..you could tell there was nothing "riding" on this game we jumped up to a good lead and the intensity went way down

Both teams looked sloppy. The refs just seemed to want to get it over and go home and showed about as much enthuasium and intensity as the Riverdale offense. The Warriors better step it up or they won't have that coveted home field advantage for very long. They will be at home.

  8. Years of falling behind because of lack of funds and lack of population growth to allow a larger selection pool of athletes. The once proud Pioneer program back in the day is no more as newer and better schools are popping up everywhere in Rutherford, Davidson, Williamson, Sumner, and Wilson Counties making it impossible for a poor school like Warren County to compete against the wealth and diversity of a bigger city school. Coffee County is in the same boat. Franklin County and Lincoln County and the power programs back in the day are becoming no more while they are being quickly replaced by the Riverdales, Brentwoods, and Hendersonvilles.

    It's as simple as that.

Something to think about. Warren County Schools rank 105 in teacher pay out of 136 school systems in the state of Tennessee. Coaches are teachers first, and who wants to work for peanuts? In a system the size of WC why are they relying on volunteers to lead the team? Poor coaching hires by people in charge who weren't all that successful themselves as coaches. When you are consumed with keeping things political you ruin the program.

WC has a hugh fan base and people who are willing to step up in the community with whatever is needed despite the lack of W's, but the politics in WC schools are killing its program plain and simple.

  9. Don't get me wrong im not trying to take anything away from McCallie.. BJ is great... he could use some help from his WRs.... But I am just still disgusted on how they could blow that...

Props to McCallie. The stadium was great. Your fans were super. Riverdale looked much improved this week to me. They just didn't play the last five minutes of the game. It seemed to me the D quit about five minutes beore the game ended. Give credit to the Tornados who never quit.

I wonder if the time difference had anything to do with the fans or lack there of for the Warriors.

  10. he's talking about yards off of penalties, which the DNJ stats state 14-120 yards...atleast 2 of those were instances (ones i can remember off the top of my head) where the D had made their stop only for siegel to continue their drive due to a penalty, one of those as already mentioned was a scoring drive

My point is that yes, a defensive player stopped the drive. But, it was also one of our defensive players who get a penalty and game them a first down. If I remember correclty, that happended more than once. We have some great defensive players, so I hope they step up this week and show it. Penalties will kill us if we don't get a handle on them.

  11. Golden Eagle give me a break. Get rid of the staff? You were not saying that last year when they went to the playoffs. Typical Warren County fan. Fire everybody in sight after one loss. This really upsets me. Who wants to come to WC to coach? Those coaches are there because they love the players and love coaching. Do you know how much time high school coaches spend at the field and away from their families during the season. I doubt it. They definately not doing it for the money. I have a lot of love for all high school coaches in every sport. They help tons of kids better themselves in life. So basically you must be an upset parent or player that didn't get as much playing time as you thought you should. Get off the coaches. Keep your negative comments to yourself.

Steve Britton wanted to come there and coach last year. Ask the Riverdale players about his abilities. Franklin County hired the real deal. What a loss for WC.

  12. Are you saying Riverdale's D looked sharp against siegel, or in practice this week?

Good question. b/c if you were at the same game I attended last week you must have been seeing things. Parks ran all over our Defense right up the middle.

How many yards did they give up in penalities alone?

    Give me a break.

  13. Not last year though which is what i meant, and i think your program should realize as our basketball one has that we dont have the star power we once did. You guys need to turn down the egos a bit. No Gaston No Tamar , though i think Scott will be a great player, i just dont see your team being as high and mighty as the past warrior teams. Gaston was an amazing talent.

No Gaston, but we got Locke. No Tamar, but we got Hunter. No Dave, but we got Scott. We got Goree, We got Verge, We got Grove, We got Spurlock, We got Newsome, We got Atakpu, We got, . . . . shall I go on!.

The Stars lights go out tomorrow night.

  14. yeah he'll impact but he wont be the next gaston miller he could be better but lets just wait and see first

Gaston took hit after hit and had the body strength to do it. McClain doesn't seem to be a strong physically, but the kid can flat out fly.

  15. I guess it will be the Scott watch all week to see if he'll be ready.

On Friday, as soon as I saw Scott start testing the foot after the TD run and go to the sideline I began watching Paul very closely. He's a good QB and can definitely get the job done. In some of the earlier run scrimmaging he scored on the first two plays he ran. Scott's a senior with a year's starting experience but Paul is a very good QB in his own right.

Based on the way they treated Scott on the sideline you could tell they felt it was a sprain. They actually taped him up and he was standing back on the sideline with his shoe on at the end of the scrimmage. I hope they got an x-ray just to make sure of what we're dealing with.

BTW, he looked amazing on that TD run. He's really become a total football player.

It's a team game and one person's presence won't decide the game. I'm sure the coaches will get Paul ready and make a decision later in the week.

Reports are that their is not break or fracture. He was xrayed and they found he has a bone that grew in incorrectly. He took a hit on it and caused some soreness. He is in a boot to protect the bone. He is most likely to suit up Friday night.

Paul is an excellent athlete, if he can keep his head straight. He loves to run the ball which might get him into trouble if he doesn't stick to the game plan.

  16. Are you telling me that in a school of over 1000 students that they cant find anyone who can get on the oline and block? Are the coaches even looking? Unbelievable! The athletes are there, we need to start looking at how they are being encouraged or discouraged from participation. Is it the coaching, the administration, what? Good coaches can take a so-so kids and make them into a team that can win.

If baseball has a consistently good record they are the exception. What about girls softball, vollyeball, soccer and basketball on both sides, etc. Come on. Warren county is usually middle of the road at best.

  17. I was there between 97-01 it was the Campbell,Woods days.

Warren county has such a rich history in all sports. Look in the TN sports hall of fame and you will find a few several names with McMinnville ties. What has happened in the last 20 years? There seem to be a few outstanding years. '79 girls basketball state champs, early 80's had some pretty darn good football teams. Jimmy "Wirehead' Walker's team took a state championship in baseball, but overall WC doesn't contend at any sport for more than one year? What's up with that?

  18. The Riverdale Quarterback Club has chartered a bus for Week 1 game Riverdale vs. Chattanooga McCallie . The bus will leave the Riverdale Annex parking lot at 4:00 sharp on game day. Persons interesteding in reserving a seat can sign up at the Merchandise Barn beside the ticket gate during the Siegel-Riverdale game or contact Booster Club president John Pope @ 615-890-5069.

The cost per seat will be $25 or $40 per couple. Only those persons over age 18 will be allowed to ride unless accompained by an adult.

Seating is first come first serve basis.

    Go Warriors!

That would be a call Mr. Nolan would have to make. sounds like a great idea.

  19. One of the questions that I have about the O line is why is Warren County's bad. It seems like even when I was in high school we had the biggest offensive line in the state but could not block. Is it in the coaching or is it the talent of the Linemen?

When were you there. I remember a few years with Paz as head coach, Bobby Newby, Ed Cantrell, and then the days of Assistants Steve Britton and Gary Rankin where they seemed to get it done. I agree it has been a long dry spell, but hopefully things are moving in the right direction.

    Go Pioneers!

  21. I didn't say that you were either Woods or Dunlap. I just was wondering? I have ties to Carter as well. although he transfered to Jeff. Co.

How can you talk about Warren County football and not mention Todd Dunn? He is a play maker. I hear that Rich is getting it done. Now let's see what the coaches can do?

  22. i had to go up to riverdale today anyways for educational purposes, i didnt even know for sure if they were having the scrimmage with FC still or not but after i got home i found out it was just a regular practice day for them, glad i didnt miss out on anything...idk what happened with that but that was the rumor going around last night

Any word on the condition of Atakpu? We missed him yesterday. Our DB's will have to step it up, especially in the later part of the season.

Offense is getting stronger each day. Lots of guys getting in reps. Good to see Coach A spread the wealth so to speak. I am interested to see how game time plays out with substitutions.

  23. Riverdale pulled it out 5-4 (Final). No details on the later innings. Riverdale was behind 4-1 in the 3rd. The coaches looked like they were pushing it a little and got a couple of base runners thrown out in the 3rd that would have tied it. I think Choate knocked in the winning run.
