  1. Zach was a pussycat compared to Silvey.Zach had size but wasnt very mean.Napier had a killer instinct but not the quickness.Silvy may lay a big egg but im expecting him to be double teamed all night.Lamberts a pretty smart guy.Oh i know about lineman i played against a feller named Jason Layman he wasnt too bad either.LOL.The both ways deal he still getting used to,so i agree.

I have to agree silvey is down right mean best we will see and prob have seen in years much respect

  2. Im predicting one heck of atmosphere tonight at the reservation!!!! I just hope our kids realize how big of a game this is. I Believe Oneida faces the best team they will see all year tonight. Yes silvey is a stud as is #1 #53 #33 heck they got more too!!! I think you have to atleast score 3 times to win tonight!!! I cant wait!!

    "GO BIG OR GO HOME"

  3. Its safe to say that Oneida should be the "underdog" here.. They play everyone both sides of the ball and don't have the depth that meigs has. So your are probably right about that playing a factor, I mean heck if we have one Defensive back cramp up we could have some problems!! Should be a hard nosed game.. 42 and 4 seem pretty dang tough for meigs IMO.. 15 is a dang good linebacker too!! I just hope the tribe can manage the game and keep the turnovers on our side then we have a good chance.. Hey kaz hit me up bro maybe u can catch a ride with me!!! by the way guys I wouldn't worry about BIGGUMS to much cause its Friday he aint got no job he aint got no place to be and he aint got SHI$ to do!!! smokey

  4. kaz... I believe you will see a little more pass these next 2 weeks its time to start prepping for the playoffs!!! B)  Also the Oneida D is playing with some killer instincts right now and being pretty stingy as well. I was very pleased the way the defensive backs have played as of late. 19 or bam bam whatever they are calling him these days is a punisher for sure! :hungry:

  5. By the way....has anyone noticed our passing game beginning to perk up?  The juggling catch for a first down by West and the over the shoulder grab by Lay were nice concentration by both of them.  Nice to have found some consistency here.  Heck, they even got #40 involved with the two point conversion.  I wish I could see him with a full head of steam after the catch.  My guess is some will just dive at his ankles.

    Kaz

Yes Jimmy did try a little air attack against coalfield  he even ran a little reverse play. The kids seemed to enjoy it as much as the fans did. He may break something else out this week against the tigers who knows?

  6. BIGTIME win Thursday boys and the atmosphere was top notch. Its hard to get up for a game at sun town after a atmosphere like that one, I hope the boys stay up for this road trip. We need to keep everyone healthy this week and week 10. Rumor has it Lambert (number 8) is wearing a cast on his hand after the coalfield game.

  7. Well not the weather you want to see in a big match up like this one, but hey that's why everyone doesn't play this game!! I do think the weather is a advantage for Oneida tonight with their style of smash mouth grind and run the clock football. However coalfields ability to score quick is a uncomfortable feeling.

K-man....emotions will be roring tonight no heater needed big man!!

GO BIG OR GO HOME ;)  B)  ;)

  8. This game could go either way. Hard to say what could happen when your dealing with teenagers. .......... In saying that here are some key things I think Oneida will have to do to win the game.

    1) Stop Bible and The freshman QB they are very hard to tackle and probably the fastest kids in the district. This means make some big plays in open field because these 2 kids seem to find themselves in open field a lot making big plays. Make the freshman beat you passing not running.

    2) Block stewart every play enough said on that subject lol

Losing 2 of our key Running backs is very crucial in this game also. Adams was our "HOME RUN THREAT) and Newport is solid on both sides of the ball.

    3) Oneidas DBS are gonna have to make some big plays.

    4) I would think Oneida has the edge on the kicking game this could play a huge roll in field position, or maybe a key field goal.

    5) win the turnover battle

Wilson (coalfields o coordinator) always throws a few wrinkles at the stingy Oneida defense curious to see what he comes up with this week.

Good luck to Oneida play a clean game and I like our chances :popcorneater:

  9. Just thinking about OHS's pass coverage comments I went back and watched the video I posted and I saw some open pass plays that Rockwood missed good oppurtunities on.

The TE #2 didn't get picked up by the LB and was open at [8:20] & at [16:02].

At [9:32] WR #7 had his man beat but the QB made a bad pass, pause at [9:39] he had 3(I'm guessing) yards on the him and the QB threw way over the WR to the outside out of bounds instead of tossing straight or inside because he was on the move trying to throw.

At [10:10] the pass to #32 was covered but he only had one man to beat with inside position to make a possible catch in the endzone if not over thrown and if you look out to the far left side of the field #1 Long was wide open at the inside WR spot. Also at [17:39] Long was open at WR on a short/quick pass(WR screen?) because OHS's LB blitzed and no one picked him up but he dropped it.

Also TE #44 at [27:00] went untouched outside for a good gain but OHS made a good recovery and a mean tackle. They also had some success throwing to the FB who slipped out of the backfield for I believe 2 catches, 1 a decent gain on a screen pass for 10-15 yards.

IDK but imo some passes might have been blown coverage, some were good play calls and a couple of plays they beat OHS's DBs but the QB missed them.

I'm not saying OHS's pass defense was awful because they got to the QB, broke up passes, was quick to ball but there is definitely room for improvement, imho. I guess we'll see Friday, either way though I expect a close game.

Good luck to both teams, I wish I could make it to the game! I have a relative who plays for OHS.

Since you watch so much film and you are so knowledgeable about the secondary ......Did you notice that the majority of the pass plays the defense didn't roll to cover 3 when they got motion they stayed in cover 2 which is not how they are coached I can assure you that... So its not lack of coaching the DB's just don't have Cole West back there this year as your safety "Quarterback" of the DB's in charge

  10. From what I hear yall throw it as good as ya run it...The old Hampton teams were ground and pound and then sneak a tight end on a flag route for a big play. Now it seems yall will spread it out and throw with some run mix and then in the same drive jump under center with no personel change and pound it a few plays ....That makes it hard for any defense to make ajustments

The kids just gotta make some plays!

  11. Hampton is gonna be a tough game as yall have said they are pretty balanced on offense. Ive never seen a Hamptom team that wasn't pretty big and didn't have a little stink in their tail when it comes to being physical. I think for Oneida to get a win on the road against a good team we are gonna have to eliminate the turnovers and make a big special teams play... You know the old saying the team that makes the fewest mistakes will win, play for and make the breaks and when one comes our way score, press the kicking game here is where the game is won.....its simple football B)

GO BIG OR GO HOME :hungry:

  12.

Half the fun at these games are listening to nuts second guessing every single play you run. Most of um couldn't even tell you what formation you're in. And then you always have a few who you have to stay away from. Everyone has a few of that kind. I choose my company or either stay to myself. Football coaches and politition are the most critisized people on the earth. Polititions probably deserve it.lol

These coaches do take a lot of heat from the fans, especially in your smaller communities. In my opinion they don't make enough money for what they deserve. They put a lot of hours in with these kids, they gotta love it or they wouldn't be doin it! :popcorneater:

  13. kaz you and crow both know rockwood is gonna give Oneida their best game..... Don't think for a min this game is goin to be handled easy. I think the tribe will pull it out but you better believe it will be in the 4th quarter if we do. We need to get on that back they got early and often(#1) he is real talented.... I hope we can make some big time plays this week   B)
