1. Pirate88 how are you doing? Are you back from school, if so you ought to come catch the game Monday. I think it is at 5:00

I am back from school. I wasn't able to stay for the whole game. However, I came for the pregame warm-up and talked to your son and a few others. The field looks great this year. It makes me sad everytime I come out there and watch a game, I miss it alot.

Best of luck to you guys in the up coming games. If and when you make it to state I will be sure to come and watch a few games.

  2. QUOTE(JoseWales @ May 25 2007 - 08:39 AM) 826466781Ready to have a little fun. I still think many are underestimating the Bruins. Might be interesting. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Should be a good one I am getting in the truck and heading away from jackson now. Good Luck Bruins

  3. QUOTE(ElvisUGA24 @ May 25 2007 - 12:06 AM) 826466644Oh, you must be talking about the catcher from USJ. The Gibbs fans got to him during the game and he took his mask off in between batters and gave us a little smile and then proceeded to say, "**** you Gibbs."

If you don't believe me, ask the catcher. I'm sure he'll tell ya.

To be honest I played last year and nothing is more annoying then fans who are rude. I would have cussed you too if I felt I was being talked down upon. If you cant win a game by playing the game of baseball but by trying to mess with a teenage players head. You dont need to be there!!! Which is why your team is on a bus traveling home tonight and not preparing for a State Title!

  4. QUOTE(nob4upost @ May 24 2007 - 11:57 PM) 826466637The most awsome catch that I have seen in High School, it would have made ESPN. Rebel come and root the Bruins on to Victory!

Oh I am going to be there. I will not be able to talk the next day cause I will be yelling so much. Thank you for those kind words too.

  5. QUOTE(Took @ May 24 2007 - 11:52 PM) 826466627Bottom line----If you have to pay tuition to go to a school, whether paid by the student or by scholarship, you should compete against other private schools in your own division. All privates going for the title in A and AA.

Its not a scholarship that is given. If anything it is a little aid that lets you pay your tuition at a later date. However, it has to be paid back. While you are on this aid yes you dont get to play sports. All this talk about about scholarships is ignorant. Stop being jealous work harder at sports and beat us. If you cant tell your parents to spare a little and sent you to a private school so you can win and not cry on coacht.

  6. QUOTE(JoseWales @ May 24 2007 - 11:44 PM) 826466619USJ takes it, maybe even run rules GP. GP is a good team, but the USJ team is one of the best ever. They were too conservative coming into this tourny. After a loss, they come back hungry, scoring 42 runs in three games. Their hunger has not been met yet. If GP had Darnell and had not faced so many innings the past few games, it might be a different story.

    You did ask for opinions.

Good luck and have a healthy game to all the players and fans. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Hey Jose I will be there tomorrow, what time is the game and is it a MTSU? If so tell your left fielder to watch that fence in dont give when you hit it. ha /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

  7. QUOTE(mcfan10 @ May 24 2007 - 11:01 PM) 826466578If Goodpasture has any talent, they will win. I saw USJ twice this week and they looked very beatable.

Any team is beatable on any given day. Both teams are beatable. Last year Covington came out of the losers bracket to win it all, by beating USJ 9-1. Which game did USJ look beatable was it the 18 to 5 loss? Goodpasture is in the final game so yea they have talent, but so does USJ. Dont count USJ out yet!!! GOOD LUCK BRUINS!!! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

  8. QUOTE(Gocart @ May 22 2007 - 10:22 PM) 826464910for a final score of 14-3. .

JCS vs Lookout Valley Wednesday at 12:30. Should be a good one.

Great Job JCS. Good Luck tomorrow, you are one step closer to the gold. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

  9. QUOTE(necvol @ May 22 2007 - 11:07 PM) 826464959Pirate88, I'll never forget that amazing catch you made in last year's Championship Game.

I think the game is scheduled for approximately 12:30 and yes James is there! Lots of USJ fans were in attendance today! Drive carefully and wear your seatbelt. James can attest to the fact that Troopers are testing the accuracy of their radar guns!!!

Well I dont think I can make that game. I have to work a little. ha Wow I bet the troopers are out in full force for the holiday. Are all the games being played at the same place?

  10. QUOTE(necvol @ May 22 2007 - 10:52 PM) 826464945I watched a couple of innings of the Gibbs vs Marion County game that followed USJ's hard fought win over a game Marshall County team. The first question I have of the Gibbs fans is: Did we see both Gibbs and Marion County's #1 pitchers today? It may have just been that both Gibbs and Marion County are great hitting teams but it appeared to me the pitching was not very striong for either team.

Gibbs will get to hit against a Freshman in USJ's Preston Overbey tomorrow! Even though Preston is only 15 years old he is usually pretty tough!

I look for USJ's bats to make a lot more noise tomorrow! The Bruins continue their march!

Hey Necvol what time is the game tomorrow? I want to try to come to watch a couple games this week! Is your boy going to be there? BTW this is last years left fielder.

  11. QUOTE(PageMan @ May 22 2007 - 10:35 PM) 826464921Marshall Co......0..1..0....0..0..1....0.....2..8..1

    USJ..................0..0..0....3..1..0....X.....4..6..1

    Winning Pitcher - Clayton Gant - 7 inn - 2 runs - 2 ER - 8 hits - 8 K - 1 walk

    Losing Pitcher - Seth Lintz - 6 inn - 4 runs - 4 ER - 6 hits - 6 K - 4 walks

MC scored 1 run in the top of the 2nd as Cody Primm singled, advanced to 2nd on a sac bunt by Seth Lintz, and scored on a double by Seth Nance.

MC threatened in the top of the 3rd as both Brad Barnes and Zach Cross singled, but USJ Pitcher Clayton Gant made two plays that forced a runner at 3rd and the last play was a double play that also put out the batter to end the inning.

MC also threatened again in the top of the 4th as Cody Primm doubled, but Gant struck out the next to batters and the inning ended on a 5-3 ground out.

USJ's big inning was in the bottom of the 4th as they scored 3 runs with Josh Lyles getting a walk, advancing to 2nd on a single by Daniel Grimm, and both Lyles and Grimm scored on a double by Clayton Gant. Gant's CR Simon Arcuri advanced to 3rd on a single by John Wills and scored on a single by Will Glenn. MC ended the inning on a double play by Justin McQueen - U6/6-3 as USJ now leads 3-1.

MC again threatened in the top of the 5th as Brad Barnes singled and Zach Cross walked with 1 out, but USJ's defense held again to strand the MC runners.

USJ's final run came in the bottom of the 5th as Benjie Fresmire walked and stole 2nd, but he was injured on the steal as his head was cut by a cleat. I believe I heard it would require some stitches. He was replaced by Dusty Bright who advanced to 3rd on a passed ball and scored on a sac fly by Josh Lyles as USJ now leads 4-1.

MC's final run came in the top of the 6th as Seth Lintz hit a Home Run to RC field to make it 4-2 USJ.

USJ held in the top of the 7th to get the win at 4-2.

USJ advances to play Gibbs tomorrow following the game between Marshall Co. and Marion Co. which begins at 10 AM at Smyrna. Gibbs defeated Marion Co., 11-10 in a wild game - report to follow.

Thanks to the USJ fans for the Diet Coke and good luck tomorrow.

Wow a very good report. Thank you for painting a picture for those who couldn't be there.

  12. QUOTE(Pedro @ May 21 2007 - 10:53 PM) 826464345I just don't think Marshall County can even stand a chance in this game. They have been lucky all year somehow coming out with a win several times despite average hitting at best and terrible defense. They have two decent pitchers who only win games at home because of the "friendly" umpires, who wouldn't be anyone's aces. All USJ has to do is show up in matching uniforms and stick the bat in the air, you will touch it and MC will boot it. The only way USJ loses is by disqualification. Don't worry about anyone from Marshall hitting the ball either. There is no way they stand a chance against any team from West TN especially the GREAT USJ who is the best team ever and crushes everyone. They can hit anybody with all those future Major Leaguers and there is no way anyone can touch their top notch recruits. MC will get run-ruled and USJ will go on to win the state, nation, and universe. Good luck MC, try to survive. USJ slaughters EVERYONE... well except for the 5 teams they lost to.... but other than that they kill EVERYBODY. And yes Marshall County, you are part of that everybody. No one can beat this team

Wow that was harsh dude. I agree with USJ being a good team. I played with everyone of these boys last year. However, we have learned in past never to over look anyone. It could come back to bite you in the butt. These post are gettin pretty heated. PageMan dont worry the USJ fans are some of the nicest people you ever meet. With the exception of a few kids who get on here and talk big. Good Luck Bruins I hope to see you boys on friday!!!!

  13. QUOTE(chiefsailingofficer @ May 21 2007 - 04:00 PM) 826464136I agree that jcs makes the big plays. They can make great plays in the field and also hit with runners in scoring positon.

They are a great team maybe they can bring home the golden trophy in two sports this year. Coming from a USJ grad and fan, GOOD LUCK GUYS make Jackson proud.

  14. Hey I am just wondering how the USJ Bruins are doing this year. I am in school in school at UTC and havent had a chance to keep up with them. Please give me some stats on everybody and who is starting where. Thanks

  15. You are one of a kind, in my book. I'm sure in Clayton's too.

No one can ever change that! No one can top or even come close.

    :thumb::DB)

I would have to agree there is no comparison to Mother T!!!! You will def be missed. Good thing you will be close by in college.

  16. . in my opion both deserve the privilege of the title. and it was great playin ball with joe he is a great player and friend.

I agree with you i played leftfield for USJ, and got to see both players play, and both are great players and both deserve to be given credit for their success in state. Watch out for the Bruins in 07!!!

  17. Yea I am been doin since sophmore year you must be from one of average teams that dont get alot of student support.

Why do you sit behind the ourfield fence????? Oh, maybe its because your werent good enough to play for covington. Convington won great job they were the better team in that game, but dont start trouble for the sake of starting trouble. Whats funny is all of the covington players are respectful, I know that for a fact. However, its fans like you that get good teams a bad reputation! So do everybody a favor and sign off of coacht and grow up!!!!!

  18. I know your also a Crocker fan. So make sure you get the USJ score on CoachT this evening ASAP. Good luck to them also.

Bruins 19-0 over mitchell. Good luck to the mustangs next week. And congrats on a huge win over jcs.
