  1. If there are any players still wanting to play at the 19U AAU Nationals in Orlando the end of July, call Kris Frye at 931-205-4437. There is only one team from Tennessee going to the Nationals now, so if there are any players out there like Cory Pflieger, T.C. Jennings, Matthew Dotson, Jeff Barnes, Elmar Kuli-Zade or others, give Kris a call. Rosters must be turned in this week.

  2. No I have several private schools with black players, but what does that really have to do with anything. If the public schools could buy their players/parents this wouldn't even be an issue. But you have to deal with zoning and transfer rules that simply don't apply to private schools. Daddy Ronnie Carter knows where his money comes from, so I don't see the private schools really losing their advantage. Don't cry, you 'ins will be back again.  thumb

Daddy Ronnie Carter seems to always favor the County schools. All you gotta do is move across town into an apartment and suit up for a new team. One of the Wayne Co. players did that last year when he came from Collinwood. Oh yeah, his sister still went to Collinwood. You are simply an ignorant person to think that privates aren't more under the microscope than public schools.

  3. I think that he will do very well in college. I've seen him play 4 or 5 times over the past couple of years, and he is much better than other players that I have seen go D-1. He is 6'7" - 6'8" with very good ball handling skills, the ability to go inside or out and has great hops.

  4. Congratulations to Coach O and all of the girls. Brittany really dominated tonight and the the defense was strong. With upsets of Davidson Academy, Goodpasture and a close loss to FRA, the CPA girls are rocking right now. Wayne County made a valiant comeback to tie the game with pressure defense, but CPA pulled it out. Great fan support tonight for such a long drive down the Trace. The Wayne County fans were great and we look forward to hosting them on Monday night. Hopefully we'll have two teams in the Boro this year, though it will be tough.

  5. If you haven't heard of him you must be living under a rock. Puckett is a very real deal, very similar to Matthew Dotson at Hickman County, though he might be better. He can play outside or inside and can jump very well. Wish he had of stayed with an SEC school so we could watch him play.

  6. Looks like Mt. Pleasant is running up scores like Ezell Harding did in 2001. I know that they have a lot of talent, and they play a big game the 22nd with Wayne County who just slipped by Eagleville this past week. That game shouldn't be a big challenge for Mt. Pleasant and they will end up a #1 seed. Also DCA and CPA play that same night, so several things will be determined at that point.

  7. It looks like two of the best games in the state will be on October 22 when DCA and CPA play and Mt. Pleasant and Wayne County play. Does the basketball player that transferred from Collinwood play football for Wayne Co. also? Davidson Academy can't be overlooked by anybody and seem to be on a roll with their new coach, and Friendship is steamrolling with only a loss to JP II. Looks like Mt. Pleasant is for real from the article in the Tennessean today.

  8. So...when did the Warriors pull the first team in order to take it easy?

Dave Thomas was in the last snap. One series another Thomas came in and that was it. First string defense was in the whole game. The younger fans at the game that walked through the CPA stands before the game trash talking, and even at half time really showed a lot of class for Riverdale. Also the kids that were taunting Jeff Fisher after the game really shines well on Riverdale. It is funny that every post was that either CPA wouldn't score or maybe score 7, but they hung 28 on the vaunted defense. Riverdale is a very good team, Dave Thomas is a great scrambler and the running back that had over 200 is extremely fast. Give CPA some credit instead of saying Riverdale wasn't ready to play.

  9. Goodpasture didn't have much of an offensive plan or at least it didn't look that way. In the second half they probably didn't have 50 yards total offense, but they have the talent to make it to the playoffs. I agree that 1A and 2A are not that different in talent level, so it shouldn't be that big of a surprise that CPA won. Riverdale is another situation. They have manhandled everybody that they scrimmaged-MBA, Brentwood and others - not just beat, but completely destroyed. Riverdale could be one of the top ten teams in the nation, so if CPA can get through without injuries and learn from playing such a talented opponent, it will benefit them later in the year. Congratulations to Coach Matthews and all of the other coaches on their first win at CPA.
  10. For results check out www.unapproved website.com. Looks like CDF played a great game against Memphis. Also heard that in a head to head battle in the Thunder/Ballerz game, Sikes had 27 and Delk had 6. Guess Sikes should be ranked a little higher.

  11. In the 16U division the results were.

Murfreesboro Stars - Won 81-51 in Pool Play - Won 69-52 in Pool Play - Lost in first round of Gold Division to the Texas Ambassadors

Mid-State Ballerz - Lost 70-59 in Pool Play - Won 70-64 in Pool Play - Beat San Antoio Kings and the Blazers in the Bronze Division and Lost to Houston Swoosh

    Stars - 2-1

    Ballerz - 3-2

I think that that is all of the Tennessee teams in the 16U division

  12. I think that all of this is right, if not, don't get too upset. These are 17U results.

Team Tennessee - Lost 76-46 in Pool Play - Lost 55-41 in Pool Play - Lost in Bronze Division first game

Stallions - Lost 69-45 in Pool Play - Won 64-55 in Pool Play - Lost in Bronze Division first game

Tennessee Travelers - Won 59-51 in Pool Play - Won 72-66 in Pool Play - Won in Gold Divion vs. Friends of Hoop - Lost in Gold Division to Houston Hoops

Mid State Ballerz - Won 67-55 in Pool Play - Won 80-79 in Pool Play - Lost to Georgia Elite in Gold Division first game

Tennessee Dreams - Won 62-60 in Pool Play - Won 59-47 in Pool Play - Lost to Louisiana Select in Gold Division first game

YOMCA - Won 74-54 in Pool Play - Won in Pool Play (no score listed) Won in Gold Division against Blessed IJN, Belmont Shore, Illinois Fire and Mean Streets before loosing in the Semi-Finals to Spiece Indy Heat who then lost to the Georgia Stars for the championship of the Gold Division

So I guess the totals are:

    YOMCA - 6-1

    Travelers - 3-1

    Ballerz - 2-1

    Dreams - 2-1

    Stallions 1-2

    Team TN - 0-3
