  1. Huntingdon is loaded. If they can stay healthly and play with unselfishness, they should win the state championship. They have (3) shut down pitchers with Clift, Crocker, and now McAdams. They are well coached. McKenize won the state with one shut down pitcher. Huntingdon is slowly becoming powerhouse baseball program in class A. The rest of us must sit back and just watch.

  2. QUOTE(westtennsports @ Feb 12 2007 - 11:36 AM) 826368582[/snapback]

Huntingdon, Adamsville, and JCS have to be the favorites. A'Ville returns virtually the same team that played in the sub-state last year, while Huntingdon returns the entire pitching staff from a state tournament team.

Union City and Halls in 14-A are always tough, but lost a lot of seniors. Humboldt doesn't concern anyone because they have no one that can hit. Bradford actually returns its entire lineup minus one, as does Peabody, but those teams always have trouble winning big games.

McKenzie lost the most, but play in a very weak district behind Huntingdon. If they can find a #1 starter, they'll have a chance in May as well.

TCA or Riverside could also sneak up on JCS in 15-A as well.

Bruceton Central returns 8 starters and should challenge McKenzie if they can establish a solid pitching rotation. The Mustangs are loaded!!! Not sure about West Carroll and Clarksburg.

  3. This may explain why the VOLS have fell from the TOP of college football over the past few years. Yes, they win 9 games..... NOT LAST YEAR.. Before that they went to 2 straight PEACH BOWLS and got beat in both.... They are NOT a TOP performing team anymore. They may need to evaluate their overall evaluation of kids. I think they wanted the BROOKS kid from JCM and overloooked WILLIS. I think this has happened a bunch. There a a bunch of impact players on other teams who having success on other successful programs. I sure hope the DONALD kid becomes a VOL but it wouldnt surprise me if he went to NOTRE DAME.

Fulmer and his staff have let a ton of kids leave this state.

    Warren (Florida State)

    P. Turner(USC)

    B. Turner(Nebraska)

    Willis (Ole Miss)

Wallace (Auburn) - 3 year starter @ Auburn - They won a bunch of games with him at TE

    Scott (Memphis)

Thats 6 kids he let get out the state. I do think they could have helped UT. Fulmer doesnt seem to make the state of Tennessee a priority.

  4. It's amazing how Patrick got overlooked by Fulmer. I think this kid is going to be better than Al Wilson.

Another fine example of Fulmer's genius recruiting skills. He recruits heavily from other states that he lets several get out. Patrick is atop the leaders in the nation in tackles behind a mediocre at best defensive line. Can you imagine him behind some horse DT's at Knoxville.

I believe Harrison Smith will leave the state too.

  5. GO LAKE COUNTY - These 2 teams are underrated and flying under most peoples radar. They both have SPEED!!!!!!! If Lake County's passsing game is on, then JCS has a problem. Valentine can flat out fly. Lets go Region 7A.

JCS is awfully good though. It wouldnt surpride me if JCS wins the Clinic Bowl.

  6. I wasnt taking a shot - I was merely explaining I know how you feel as a fan. USJ did that to us for years. I tried to give you a heads up but you were to caught up in the great season you had. You guys had a great season. But, JCS gotcha two years in a row. Bruceton-USJ used to be the quarterfinal game every year and USJ owned us. We did get them in 99 but lost to Moore Co. in the semis. We had a great team in 2002 with Patrick Willis and USJ beat us in the quarters.

Plus, I hate to see Drew Hayes "dissed." If you would have had Hayes on this yers team you would have had the same record. Your strengths were the speed at the receiver spots. It forced teams to play alotof zone coverages and combo coverages which kept people from loading the line with 8 guys to stop the run. JCS had more talent in the secondary and were able to lock down the receivers. The, Carr had to run for his life. Plus, The Rebels dropped some passes at crucial times in that game.

I am for 7A and was pulling for the REBS. But, deep down I knew JCS was going to clip you.

  7. GREAT SEASON REBELS.....

    But,

I believe somewhere in this thread a long time ago I tried to tell you that a private school would get you... You just woudnt listen. JCS was just a better team. They were the one team that had enough speed to run with your receivers. I have watched many Tiger teams have great years only to be ended by a private school in Jackson. Our nemisis was USJ. Now, JCS owns you guys. You had a great group of boys and made a great run. JCS better enjoy it now cause Region 7 AA will be a whole different game. Ask USJ...... Already looking forward to next year.

  8. That region is weak. Moore County and Huntland used to be solid football teams.

Mt. Pleasant needs to play in 7A (Lake County, Union City, McKenzie, and Bruceton.)

They may have not made the playoffs over here across the river.

7A and 7AA are tough regions. A great deal of parity. Mt. P only has to really play once a year.

    That makes a difference.

Congrats to Marco - He does have impressive stats. Does he play defense?

  9. I dont think Middle and East Tennessee will rule Class A this year. They may win the gold ball but this year a West Tennessee team may win. I think the last West Tennessee team to win was Bruceton Central in 1989. Personally, I think McKenzie has the best shot at winning. With Trousdale County not as good, everyone else seems to be the same across the river. McKenzie is balanced and has no real weaknesses. Plus, Bruceton and Huntingdon has a gold ball, it is time for another Carroll County school to win a gold ball. GO REBELS!!!! GO WEST TENNESSEE!!!!

Mt. Pleasant led by Mr. Football winner Marco Daily

Marco may be a great player but it takes a team to win it all. Mt. P has a long way to go to say, STATE CHAMPIONS...

  10. Bruceton Central may prove to be a front runner next year.

    Lake Co loses alot.

McKenzie will still have Carr but they lose most of that massive line and those great receivers. They do have a quality RB as a freshman but he isnt proven yet.

Union City will be good but I think they lose Bracey.

    WC loses Shea

The Tigers will be good. Plus, JCS moves up and Fayette loses alot. Looks like TCA will be the team to beat out of 8A and they lose Essenburg......
