1. Best of luck to the Lady Jets this season. They left a heckuva impression on myself when they played Oakland in the substate last year. They play the way every team should, with a emphasis on defense first, but with Foster running the show, they'll score their fair share of points. CCHS deserves all the hype that comes their way, CCHS has a excellent fan base as well. Once again, best of luck to the Lady Jets

Oakland Grad ya may be the only one willing to give the Lady Jets their Due Credit, but about midway throuh the season there will be no choice for the doubters but to start believing. The Lady Jets have also got a couple additions from the already great 04-05 squad. Yes, I'm goin to go ahead and say it the Lady Jets are the most loaded backcourt in the state!!! There will be guards on the Lady Jet Bench that could start anywhere else in the state!!

    B)

  2. Here it is ladies and gentlemen RADIOJET'S upset pick of the week..... The Lady Jets beat the Lady Owls 4-2 in one of the greatest soccer contests played this season. Coach Spitler has got the Lady Jets playing at a whole new level!!! Oltewah will find that out the hard way tonight!! :thumb:

  3. I Can't Believe nobody has even mentioned Jerry Joslin From Cookeville high School. Just look at what he's done for that program. Cookeville emerges from a very mediocre region each season to compete against the top teams in the state come playoff time. Not Being a homer cuz I think Joslin is the cockiest coach in the state as well, but Jerry has the wins to back it up!!!

  4. This was his first year.  Why in the world would you resign just 3 weeks into the season????

How have they done so far this year???

    825742489

I have heard absoutely nothing about coach strader's resignation, and i'm always the first to know! wher are yall gettin your info?? :thumb:

  5. Morristown West

    Morristtown East

    Cumberland County

    Greenville

    Daniel Boone

    Cocke County

    Eagles Landing GA

    West Greene

    Siegel

Are any of these teams any good? (except for Siegel).  I think the coach as Siegel thought that there would be the best teams from the east in this tournament, (no disrespect to any of these teams) really surprised that there aren't more then 9 teams.  Will this be worth the trip for Siegel? Too bad AC and SS aren't in it.

Hey, hey , hey , wait just a cottin pickin minute here!!! You think this tournament is a cake walk for Siegel! You've lost your mind, and if you haven't then there's definitely no knowledge in it of Cumberland County Volleyball!! The Lady Jets win this tournament going away and the Lady Stars are left in the dust!!! Botom Line!! thumb

  6. Let me repeat what another poster wrote. Jackie and Casha do not go head to head at the point guard position. It would be hard to compare the two and say which is better than the other. Both are great players, and it is fun to watch the two play. Jackie played point for Bradley for two years, mainly out of necessity. At times she is the point guard for them still, but for the most part she plays a two, three or even four position. I love to watch Casha play ball. She seems like a good kid and good player. True, when she guards Jackie, it is tough. I look forward to seeing them play this year. Cumberland County very well should be the team to beat this year, but I am not going to count Bradley out of the picture. I will say that I really do think highly of the coaching staff at CCHS. You all have great coaches and good men. I have always liked the coaches there.I think they are a class act, as are the girls. But I would rather you not try to compare the two girls, as it only causes bad feelings between them that otherwise would not exist.

As for this thread, it was supposed to be about point guards. There are many, many good point guards in the state. I think Cait and Angela are two of the very best, and Casha is good too. But I would never limit it to just them, because there are lots that I have seen. Some are masters of defense, some are better scorers and some are simply very good at running the team. Jessica Mooney is a pretty good point guard too. I don't think her name has been mentioned.

Great Post War Eagle!!! Thanks for giving the Lady Jets Due Credit thumb

  7. Alright now listen here!! Nobody who plays with the lady jets is cocky like I am. I'm just a fan who likes to run his mouth every once in a while. However, If you think for one second that anybody in the district can keep up wiht the lady Jets you're crazy!! List of things the Lady Jets have that everyone else doesnt: One of The Best Coaches in the State, The Best conditioned team around, The deepest back court in the state, and one of the best big girls in Jennifer Hood. Do I have to say anything more. Oh yeah and one more thing... I think Jackie Pickel is a great ball player I wasnt trying to beat jackie down but I just think Casha's a better ball player! thumb

  8. Wow, show me how to repat yourself! I tried to tell I've called games in which Foster and Pickel went head to head, and i also told ya that foster kicked some a@#! Casha is has the speed that pickel does, and she also makes her teamates better instead of stealing the show. Maybe that's why the Lady Jets are going to be state champs this year... because they've got a true pint guard not a hoggish all-star.

  9. First off Cait McMahan is the best point guard in the State of Tennessee and if you don't think so then go ask Pat Summitt what she thinks. Cait is rated a top 15 player in the Nation. It kills me to see people get on here and compare kids and say they are better than a player like Cait. If you don't believe me go watch her and you will see for yourself that she is the best.

As far as the Foster kid she is a very nice player. But to compare her in the same sentence as McMahan and Pickel is very funny. McMahan and Pickel are two of the top 5 players in this state and if you don't believe me then how come every major college program in the nation recruited them and they both decided to stay in state with one going to Tennessee and the other going to MTSU.

The young guards Evans and Puleo are very very good players also. They both will be two of the best PG in the 2007 class in the state of Tennessee.

    825711854

Hey listen Bucko! I don't know about the Mcmahan Kid that Summit Recruited, But I've seen Foster go head to head with Pickel and absolutely eat her LUNCH. Casha's better than Pickel, and I'm sure anyone who HAS SEEN HER PLAY would agree. Recruiting is all abou what school you go to, and what AAU program youplayed for. Not knockin the college coaches but they go to the places that have spawned good ball players in the past. Case in point--- Bradley Central Former home of lady vol great Brittany Jackson, Oh yeah and coach Insley just happened to have coached Pickel on his AAU team. By the way Insley's going to flop in the College ranks! He's going to learn that it's alot easier to get a teenaged kid to respect you than a top noch College athlete!! thumb

  10. I can't believe this thread has gone this far without evening mentioning classAAA Miss Basketball Candidate Casha Foster. In my opinion Casha's just as fast as Pikel and she does a better job than Jackie of making her teamates better. Bottom line---- Casha Foster-Pt. guard for the CCHS Lady Jets--- Best PG in the state hands down, and anybody who has seen her play and has ne sense at all will agree with me!

  11. We've got a pretty good kicker here in CC. Taylor Ports he'll put it through the endzone every time we kick off. However, his accuracy wasn't much last season. Saw him in a scrimage the other day though, and played well.

  12. Hey man, I think youre the one that needs to chill out!! I was just trying to heat things up a little in here. The arguments were that I don't think Brooke Pancake will persue competitive golf after high school, and that according to golfhouse.com I was right on with Sara Hunt's score from the Women's Open. And Now there is a third argument in which you're infering that I havent been watching golf this summer. Bottom Line is that youre crazy if that's what you think I've been to several Junior tournaments this summer following Cumberland County High School Golfers. I'm not a golf genius , but I deserve more credit than I'm gettin from you sweetswing!!!

  13. Alright, sweetswing where ya been all summer?? we've been tryin to get soem real golf knowledge on this thread and you've waited until now to pipe in!! I got my scores mixed up from golfhouse.com on the Women's open stuff. Pancake will not play competitive golf after high school, and who do you think you are?? barging in here like you the GOLF GURU!!

  14. Brilliant post, ComPassion! I think if you excite the people enough via radio, we can get them in the door to see the games in person. Thank you, RadioJet, for wanting to share volleyball with the world (starting with Cumberland County)!

    825710268

Thanks for the ideas guys!! I think this is something we can build on thumb

  15. RadioJet,

Soccer is different from football.  We are actually broken down into two districts--5 &6.

District 5 is Bradley, Cleveland, Cumberland, McMinn Co, Rhea Co, and Walker Valley

District 6 is Soddy Daisey, Red Bank, Ooltewah, and Chatt. Central

The team to beat is Ooltewah.  They won last year's region tourn and made it to the state tourn.

The top two teams from each district tourn. advance to the region tourn.  The two teams that play in the region championship match , advance to the sub-state / sectional match.

If you need anything else or need more specific info.  Just ask

    825710301

OK so soccer is set up exactly like basketball. That's easy enough. Lets just keep this board open for anything newspworthy that might be going on in district 5!! thumb

  16. I don't have a clue about local soccer, and I've been asigned to cover region 3 I need all of the information you can give me. Whos the team to beat this season? Whos the normal region 3 power? Whos the legend coach in the region? everything you can think of Give me your knowledge. :(

  17. If you are from Chattanooga, did you see the replay of the TN / GA All-star match on channel 46?  Talk about announcers not knowing much about volleyball??  At least have someone doing "color" who has a clue.  I realize it's very low budget but still...............

    825702165

I work for a local radio station in Cumberland County, and we're trying to do a better job with volleyball coverage. What is it that VB fans r lookin for??? :(

  18. Nobody belives in us except ourselves.  We're not complaining, but we will win peple over.

Our senior class is the largest/strongest we've had in a very long time, at over 20 to 30 strong.  We return 16 starters from last year, mostly upperclassmen.  We have 3 or 4 guys in the backfield capable of taking it the distance every time and a strong line made up of 4 out of 5 upperclassmen. QB started the last three games as a frosh when junior QB was moved to RB last year.  He is very mature for his age and is accurate and tall.  In our system, that will do wonders.  We have a totally different scheme on offense this year, thanks to our new OC, and our defense is built around speed and movements.

    825710101

Hey man I really apreciate the info you're giving me, but I'm doin research here! I need specifics. Can you tell me the names of your offensive coordinator and your sophomeore QB(I'll need his number also). This new Coordinator is he a fun N' gun up in the air passing guy or is he gonna pound the rock (describe his style for me). Thanx man youre really a big help thumb

  19. youre crazy if you dont thbink brooke pancake doesnt love the game enough....all she ever does is practice and work on her game. she may have one day off in a month from golf. you obviously dont know her if you think she doesnt work her butt off every day of the week!!

    825709474

Wait a sec! I'm not saying Pancake doesnt work hard because it's obvious that she does, but I feel like she is bein pushed to play right now. I think she will persue other interests upon graduating from high school. You don't agree?? :(

  20. I play, but I'll tell you we have multiple fronts on defense with a base 50, very multiple sets on offense based out of I, and a dang big chip on our shoulder this year... :(  :(

    825709927

What's the chip from and what kind of senior leadership do ya have?? Who's your go to guy on offense RB or WR?? Tell me something about your Quarterback as well! ;)

  21. I feel that actually hearing from a teams fans here on coacht.com is an intricate part of my preperation for an upcoming game. The Jets open their season at home against Bearden and I'm trying to get all the info I can. So there ya have it Bearden fans give me your teams 411.
