I have a real problem with being the only BIG HEAD!! I understand that the team itself shouldn't get cocky, but as fans why shouldn't we be extremely confident about our team's abilities???

I think most everyone would agree that Cleveland eliminating Bradley in the finals of the loser's bracket was an upset. Bradley and Cumberland split during the regular season and this was the only loss for both teams in the district. Bradley just looked like a tired team against Cleveland for some reason. Having said that, Cleveland got it done when it counted, so you have to give credit to them for that.
Sorry bout that slip of the toungue, I was thinking about the tournament being hosted at Bradley Central(ha). Anyway, I'm still talking trash for my Lady Jets their the underdog story of the year, and RED BANK doesn't stand a chance Mondy Night on Harrison field. This team is improving at the right time!!!!!

Just as I predicted, The Lady Jets Got a huge win over Bradley Central in the District Championship game 2-0. The Lady Jets move on to play Red Bank in the regionals Monday night @ 7:00. The Lady Jets are going to sectionals, and maybe STATE!!!

I"m tellin ya man! Cumberland County Womens basketball is the real deal! Coach Smith is an absolute genius with our high school team, and the idea of forming these girls as a team early in their careers is sensational. Look out for the Lady Jets in years to come!!!!

Cumberland COunty is quickly becoming a girls high school basketball power!! And Head coach Tim SMith has put together an awesome young AAU program. The program is really a smart idea: getting girls form around the county playing together as early as tean year olds. Speaking of ten year olds that's the cumberland team that's surprising people. This brand new team led by a young coaching stand out from Cumberland University, has already got a win in this year's SPRING FLING tournament in Lebanon. They May not be state champs, but for a brand new team they're pretty darn good!!

Chattanooga has some great teams. District 5AAA is not as strong as District 6AAA. I know this to be true.
This is not Cumberland's fault. They have tried to schedule a strong schedule. No one is willing to travel to CCHS. The Lady Jets will play anybody anytime on their field so long as they will return in kind. Coach does his best. but there are rarely any takers.
What RadioJet says is true. Bradley is better than people give them credit for this year. Good pitching, but a defnese that either makes the spectacular plays or can;t make the routine. Jeckal and Hyde team to be sure. BCHS can beat anybody.. sometimes can be beat by anybody.
As far as good teams CCHS has beaten? Well, for the past 2 years, CCHS has beaten anyone you can name... except for Soddy (gotta give them their due). This year's team, although somewhat young, has beaten Goodpasture, Hendersonville, and Knox Central (a good team this year). CCHS is playing better with each game.
Proud to support the Lady Jets on yet another good year.
By the way, for Coach T-bone to get thrown out of a game, it must have been a very bad call. He is a Class act (with a capital C). If anyone has details, I would like to hear them on a private PM.
By the way RadioJet... we in Cumberland County talk softly shhhhh and carry the big stick into tourney time! Not being talked about on this board is actually a blessing. Bleecherbum is being honest from his point of view. He could have gotten ugly, but didn't. Respect is earned each year. The Lady Jets will get what they deserve. thumb JET PRIDE! I understand your modesty, but as a huge Lady Jet Softball fan I hve to be confident!! Plus, I can never resist a good sports argument, and I do feel that the Lady Jets are very under apreciated

some things never change...and when its all said and done, no one from your district will advance to the sectionals, except maybe Cumberland county..and thats only because Ooltewah cant quit fighting amongs themselves.

As usaul my Lasy Jet basketball team is left behind as far as recognition goes. One of our super shooting guards from this season has signed with Hiwassee College and nobody here even knows about it. That's just fine because this time next year everyone's gonna know the Lady Jets B-ball team as STATE CHAMPS!!

I've been watching softball for over 20 years..and that district has never been up to par with the strong nashville or chattanooga teams...Cumberland county can compete with the good teams, but they cant beat them...and neither can bradley central....when they do, then I will give you some respect....who have they beaten outside their district that is any good?...and dont start naming teams from knoxville because they cant hold a candle to middle and southeast teams
Hey listen here! I'm not talking about over the past 20 years. I'm talking about this year's edition of district 5 which you obviously know nothing about! We'll just see who comes out on top when Regions roll around, and you better be in here taking your medicine when it happens!!

See what I mean BleacherBum you don't have clue about district 5 or the lady Jets, but believe me soon the entire state's gonna know about the Lady Jets!!! This years team is a great story because everyone expected this year to be for rebuilding, but of course the Lady Jets have continue to surprise us all!!

Cumberland county has a good softball team this year, but unfortunately, they dont play in a very good district. Its known more for its basketball and football. Although they have played some very good teams close, until they beat those teams, it will be hard to get the recognition you deserve. Beat some of those teams in chattanooga in the regionals and you will get plenty of recognition.
I don't think you know to much about district 5 this year! Bradley Central has one of the better teams i've seen, and yes i've seen those "great" Chatttanooga teams! You should really know what youre talking about before you start saying that the Lady Jets haven't beaten anybody good!!!!!!!!!

This of course coming from an avid Lady Jet softball fan. But I just don't understand why our district isn't getting more recognition!!! My Lady Jets defeated a good Rhea County team with a JERK COACH last night in 8 innings. Our coach was suspended for the tournament due to an argument over a call at home, but that's all a different topic. There are tons of interesting story lines in District 5. Why don't we get more attention!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where did you get your little "Why Can't We All Get Along" attitude?? Your so full of it!! There is no getting a long in sports!! The Sports world is about rivals and triumph. Not about "Gettin Along"!!!! I"m right and everybody else is wrong!! Ciaches should be proffessional, and that's how this will be "LEFT"!!!LET'S PUT THIS FORUM TO REST!!!!!!!!!!! The past is the past and you can't change what's happened, we can only learn from it. The Jets play today at 3:00 and I really don't think they can be beaten at this time. They have one of the best pitching staffs around and if they're hitting the ball well nobody will beat them. BOTTOM LINE!!!!!!!!

All I know is I would love to be an umpire! Those guys have full control of everything that goes on in the game, and most of them are so cocky is sickening. I was doing the Public adress anouncing for the Cumberland County Lady Jet Softball regional game last season, and the ump threw me out for questioning one of his calls. He was being inconsistent,and somebody needed to let him know what was happening. I just wish I was an Umpire so I could have that kind of power!!!

I don't think there ae any qualifications required for AAU refs. I've watched a lot of games while watching my all-star little sister play in the 10u league. These refs are disgracful!! I haven't been satisfied with one game i've seen officiated(win or lose). I've come to the conclusion that they probably get their officials from the work-release program. haha

Maybe you know your kidding, maybe everybody knows in the stands you are kidding but young lady on the mound may or may not. Do you know how embarassing it is to throw a wild pitch anyway without some jerk in the stands yelling stuff like that? No wonder the coach was furious! Loud comments are always unsportsmanlike.
Listen here you little wimp! Those "Loud Comments" are part of the game, at any level. If these girls don't understand that they'll never make in the higher level of sports. And don't tell me I don't know what it's like to hear those things said about your kid because I have a younger sister who plays aau basketball, and believe me I hear lots of stuff. She realizes that hearing "Loud Comments" is part of the game. Grow up and stop cryin!!!!!

Sportsmanship and professionalism are huge character indicators in sports, and I've seen some bad examples of being a profesional. I was at a Cumberland County Walker Valley game at which I was appaled by the actions of one Walker Valley coach. I was just siting in the stands cheering for my team (The Cumberland County Lady Jets), and ocasionally making a funny comment aout the opposing team just to keep moral up in the stands. The pitcher from Walker Valley had pitched a great game. she threw one wild pitch , and I yelled out "She's Losin It". The Coach comes roaring out of the dugout and let me tell you she let me have it. I'm just a fan supporting his team, and this coach thinks she can leave the dugout to reprimand me. sure, that's really proffesional!!

The game didn't start til 7:00 last I heard it was 1-0 Red Bank in the Bottom of the 5th!! I'm at work, but I'm getting updates from a friend of mine. I'll let you know!
