As a partial bystander, I saw WG scrimmage North Greene yesterday and they didn't look too well.....Don't know what this means for the season, but I thought they'd look alot better than what they did...Coach Boles has been there long enough to have gotten this thing turned around....Maybe it's time for a change at West Green

With a new season on the horizon, what are some opinions on how the Watauga Conference will shape out this year? Seems like Unicoi is still the cream of the crop, with Elizabethton being a close second.......But, with the way the District Tournament shaped out last year with West Greene and Happy Valley making some noise, is anything going to be any different this year? My outlook is: 1) UC 2) Eliz 3) HV 4) WG 5) SN 6) CD 7) JC 8) SG

I've heard rumors of Chuckey Doak's coach (Tim Lady) and West Greene's coach (Mark Bowls) stepping down after this season? Has anyone else heard this or is this just non-sense? They both seem to be good coaches from what I've seen and heard.

Yeah, they're playing good ball right now, but a 2-2 game heading into the 8th against a struggling West Greene team, concerns me a little bit. I've been to several of their games this year and like what Coach Baxter is doing with the team right now....

Besides long toss and weight lifting, what are some other great ways to strengthen young pitchers arms to increase velocity? With weightlifting, what are some specific exercises that are good? With long toss, what's a proven method that has worked well? Thanks for the help.....

Here are the current District 1AA Standings as of 4/28/07 Unicoi Co. 11-2 Elizabethton 11-3 C Doak 9-5 Sull North 8-5 West Greene 5-9 Happy Valley 5-7 South Greene 5-9 Johnson Co. 0-14 How do you guys see the conference tourney shaping out? What are the tie-breakers and when is the Meeting? I think that this is really anyone's tourney, with the exception of Johnson Co.. Any thought?

Well, at least he has them on a 2 game win streak right now, despite wins vs. weak UH and Gat. Pitman teams. He (coacah bowles) just doesn't do alot for me. A big win vs. chuckey doak would be great for the Buffs. Maybe they can hit their stride for the final half of the season. Has anyone heard if he is planning on leaving WG or not?

This guy has been there for awhile and just can't seem to get things going. He's seems to be a very good guy, but there comes a time when it may be time to start looking in another direction. I've seen them play a few times this year so far and they have a very good team this year and have started out 2-4. I think that it's time that WGHS basebal starts to look in a new direction and get someone in there who can turn this program around. He seems to be a hard worker and has, at times, done a great job with this team, but in my opinion, it's time to go into a new direction. What do you folks think? Just my opinion
