Summit and Brentwood are together because with Halls and DB being the 2-3 seeds, there’s only 2 more open slots on the bottom, and 3 sets of teams from the same region. Cleveland/Bradley, Summit/Brentwood, and Arlington/Bartlett. since there are only 2 more open spots on the bottom, you can only separate 2 of the 3 sets in order to keep seeding, so one of them has to go to the top with their region foe
with all four teams on top half of bracket would make the finals in bottom… that is dumbest crap i have seen tssaa do.

Thats the dumbest sh*t ever. The bottom bracket is a cake walk. Nolensville would have won the bottom and they aren’t even in it.
can someone please explain the reason that they put brentwood and summit same side?
why they choose that section to be on same side?

Station Camp is legit small school contender this season.

The Jackets and the Commandos will have to beat the stripes and the players both to win in Mempho (as Boogie Woogie Man Jimmy Valiant said)
I was under the impression that refs had to come from different area than the teams for the playoffs. is this not true?

The way I understand it Henry County has the region locked down either way. But that just talk with the guys and speculation. Anyone feel free to chime in.
I believe it is region record tied, then they look at overall record???
Let’s see what happens with HHS and Henry before we go into that.

Very good chance this is a round 3 game of playoffs. could be round 2 .

I think Beech will be fine down the road but I believe Riverdale will be too much this week.
I think the loss to Collierville was just what the dr ordered. i believe the staff worked hard on the mistakes this week, and we see a huge improvement in Beech for week 3. I applaud teams for seeking the tough games to help prepare for post season.

this is tv game of week. going to be a good one.

Dobbyns bennett has 14 qualifiers.
they have a great chance a team title.
Also, Bradley, Summit, Wilson, all have a shot.

Looking at just the number of qualifiers… individual team race will get interesting. Could this be the year we see a champ other than Cleveland/Bradley? How long has it been since someone other than those two have won?

More often than not. These awards are a popularity contest rather than actual best wrestler or coach award.
I said what i said, prove me wrong!

What’s your criteria for “dark horse”? someone who isn’t ranked? someone who’s never been ranked? or just someone outside of the group of favorites?
unranked or someone out of conversations. i understand it will be easier to do this once sectionals are set after this weekend.
a weight class list of dark horse would be awesome.

Desselle is definitely in The OW hunt. I think it’s going to be a great state tournament this year. What I enjoy is when good wrestlers from the middle of the pack knock off a supposed placer from one of the top 5 schools and how it impacts the placement of teams.
having said that, i would love to see a list of dark horses that could make waves and be that person to knock off some favorites.

The only virtual “locks” imo are
120- Terrell
132- Lipsey
138- Desselle
160- Norman
McDonald at heavy is also probably as close as you can get without being a lock. every other weight i think there’s atleast 2 guys who could absolutely walk away with the title.
Brenot at 182! He is the clear favorite. i honestly think Brenot could win 170. 182. or 195

I see Cleveland with a potential of 7 finalist but the only one I have winning would be fowler at 52.
I see bradley with 3 max in the finals but with all 3 I think bradley wins with Terrell at 120, lipsey at 132, and Belcher at 145
Who would be your 4th to make the finals for bradley?
with 7 finalist the team score will be wrapped up. everyone knows the big points come in semi.

WC is far from a foregone conclusion over DB. 120, 138, 145, 170, and 220 are matches that DB can win. I simply gave WC a decision. WC had better come prepared. Every kid at those weight classes I just listed is talented. These aren't scrubs.
i see wilson winning all 5 of these weights.

Here is the deal. The coaches can make suggestions to have in state rules changed. Type them up and present them at the coaches meeting.
suggest that tssaa change to year by year seeding for the dual championship.
I would rather see it in writing up front.. like they do with football bracket or basketball bracket. ex. section 1 champ goes on this line. section 2 champ goes on this line. section 3 runner up goes on this line. that will stop all the debate as everyone will know where they fall.
