There is many ways to judge the success of a high school sports program, and personally I think the best way is by looking at how many kids they can develop and inspire to continue participating at the D1 level.

My top 5 is:
1.Cleveland
2.Bradley
3. WC
4. Summit
5. Crapshoot with a handful of teams
I believe Bradley will be tough with who they have returning. Belcher I think will be a lock to win 138?
Sammy Shires is my pick at 138.

We were told for sectionals that in odd years, Region 1, 3, 5 and 7 would host. In even years, Region 2, 4, 6, 8 would host.
For Region 1 small schools, we have regionals at Sullivan East and sectionals will be at Knox Halls.
ok, 2022 sectionals, so who is going to Host?
-
Another thread on here is talking about sectionals... I wanted to see who is hosting the regionals/sectionals..
For example:Region 6 individuals are at West Creek; Region 5 and 6 sectional (individual) are at Hendersonville High school.

i think they will play this game again in playoffs!!!

Beech with almost 300 yards in first half!!! Slinging it all over the yard.
A turnover and 27 yards in penalties from this game being a blowout… second half should see more of same from Beech

My understanding is the defense didn't stop anyone all preseason or week 1. I really don’t think they start tonight.

Beech by what ever they want! I think Farragut will struggle to go 5-5. Just being honest!

It was an amazing year! We had wrestlers get multiple titles this year. We had...
Hunter Borders Wilson got his 3rd
Trey Bates Beech got his 3rd
Trae Mcdaniel Cleveland got his 3rd
Trey Morrisette dobbyns got his 2nd
Mason Smith Beech got his 2nd
Ashton Davis Cleveland got his 2nd
I am sure there were a few more multiple winner.
Trae Mcdaniel Cleveland in my opinion should have won OW. My wrestler Trey Bates beat Mcdaniel as a freshman at state finals... To my knowledge Mcdaniel has not lost a match to Tn. kid since then, including beating Bates in their jr. seasons.
Please don’t get on here and say i don’t think Morrisette should have got it. He is deserving yes, he is a Great wrestler and even better person. Any of the wrestlers on the list could have won it and no complaints...
The 106 match should definitely been best match. Also, a shout out to Fowler for winning against someone who has beat them previously.
Thoughts.. i always say the kid who loses first match and comes all the way back to get third is a tough dude. Think about that, He/she has extra matches and catches a semi finalist to advance... that is a tough spot to be in.
Tennessee wrestling is getting better, however, we still need to get out of state and see some national events. Lord knows there are plenty of opportunities for a wrestler. If you watch closely, you will see the names listed above and the medalist from Tn. wrestling and competing in national events. If you want to compete at the state tournament, you got challenge yourself outside the state.
Freestyle and greco is coming!
Shoot there are even folk style events to keep you sharp and improving.
Mat time, Quality mat time is the answer!!!

With most of the state home with no school, I would guess there will be lots of action today on the boards.
-
Why would anyone risk the consolation match? If it is only to get everyone two matches, then why would you risk injury or other things when you cannot advance as team?

How do they seed the 8 teams?
that is the million dollor question.
Cleveland and Wilson central placed last year, and that is typically what tssaa does. But, this is not a typical year.
You have
Science Hill
Summit
Oakland
Collierville
All were region champs.
Dobbyns Bennett and Bradley Region runner up.
