  1. interesting prediction and i respect that BUT can you alaborate and tell us why you think you will win by 7 If the same 3 referees are there Monday that were there tonight, that's probably why. It was very obvious that the officiating favored Blackman in the LaVergne/Blackman game. It was just plain horrible!!! I am really tired of these "racist" referees that are in 7AAA, that think because LaVergne is more "athletic", they shouldn't give them the calls. Our girls work VERY hard & have earned every victory that they have & for the officials not to call a fair game when it matters is very unfair to our young ladies. All I have to say is this political stuff has got to go!! Lady Wolverines, I'm very proud of you.... it's hard having to always play against 8 people every single night. I say keep your head up & be ready to bounce back when you face adversity like this. I'm proud of the way you fought back & played hard, you will always be champions in my book. ***Disclaimer*** And for anyone who feel a need to respond to this post...."whatever" these are my thoughts & my opinion. This is what I see night in & night out and I'm really tired of it.
  2. RDMan....LOL... I feel ya!! Looks like they are playing LV boys @ 9:00. I thought RD boys finished the district higher. Alot of good talent over there, especially in Vari Craig....s/b a beast in the next few years. Hmmm, if they make you mad, you might want to wait & attend the RD girl's game on Saturday, if LV boys play like they did at your house, Friday night might be RD's last game for the season. Now, don't take that personal, just an observation.
  3. MTCS does have an allstar team, they are loaded!!! You know Hunt & Jones both played AAU together this summer under the same coach who is at MTCS. I do believe he did help each once come into their game, thus having them ready to play high school ball. Kayla was able to come into the LaVergne program & contribute immediately. She has been a very good asset for LV.
  4. U sure....that's SR nite for LV & they are scheduled to play Antioch? The last text my daughter got was the game was still on for 6:30 tonite. I know the Siegel/Columbia game got cancelled. . Only going by WGNS news and they are reporting the game is moved to Tues. 6:30 Ok I got some confirmation & appears this game is supposedly scheduled for tomorrow. Who makes this decision???....as I came into work, the roads were dry & doesn't appear any chance for freezing over. This really sucks as we were expecting relatives to come into town.

  7. You would think....but who knows what goes on in the mind of young folks today as well as their parent. Coach P after sitting out a year is now one of the assistant coaches at LHS. She is a good coach, and if it's something she wants, maybe she will end up as a head coach somewhere in the near future.
  8. Wow, that's good for Oakland. Hey OP, yall had a player last year that was pretty good. I think she was a freshmen, she came of the bench pretty early, what happened to her?? I know that info is vague but I wondered about her this year.
  9. My bad...that's right Alpha's say ice, ice, baby....that's all I think of when I see your name...LOL Hopefully not but I think she will. Just like LaVergne have lost other girls in the past, she will be just one in many that could come in and help this program stay on the map. What about Middleton at MTCS - will she stay there or head to Nashville as well?? Middle TN/Rutherford County is a hotbed for talent especially since the emergence of the Hooptown/Team Pride program. Alot of these girls play AAU with TM Pride during the summer.
  10. Ok...never heard of it. Was at the game & didn't see the sign. I really think "32 minutes of L" is probably more indicative for the boys vs girls. If you know Coach Dean I wouldn't think he would allow his girls to put up a sign like that. The boys on the other hand, I can see them putting that sign up. Either way it doesn't matter, that game is in the book and is a wrap. A sign at this point is not going to change the outcome.
  11. IceCold.....somehow I missed this post and even though records might indicate differently, I disagree with you. I think RD Coach Maxwell put her team/players in the best position & that's where the difference comes in. I think she coaches a lot like Fryer at Mt. Juliet. He like she is a very smart coach & they utilize the floor for thier players very well!! One thing I noticed about the game on Friday is Shacobia cannot go right, but she can take anyone left, & as long as she's allowed to go left she's going to kill you in the post. So, this is where Coach Maxwell's strategy comes in....she knows that a player is going to drop down to help on Barbee, so, she kicks it out mainly to Jaclissa & she shoots the three. If the defense doesn't adjust properly, 2 or 3 three's in a row can put a game out of reach rather quickly. If you noticed, Jaclissa is always on the same side of the floor as Barbee is when she goes left, she never reposition and goes to the right hand side of the floor. It's a pretty smart strategy, hopefully the coaches are watching film & making the adjustments accordingly. I also think it helps that her husband coaches on a higher level & he's probably is very beneficial to her game strategy/plans.
  12. I know weird isn't it...the same here, it's been a great ride. Glad we all got chance to play together last summer, it was great. Yeah, Bri has been have a great senior season & I'm glad for her as well. She put a lot of time and effort in her game after the summer traveling season was over. It has paid off. Don't worry too much about Shelby, she always step up when it's time, I see her doing great things at Samford. Hopefully, we have some news about the game soon....should be a good one, I guess I can't make a prediction out of fun, if so some of these posters might get their "panties in a bunch" ain't calling no names, truth & justice......LOL
  13. Phargis.....my daughter is not LaQuinta Jefferson who is going to Kentucky, but she is a great player and is going to be a good one for that program..... So many of those players over there, and moms too, it is a little hard too pick all of them out but if you want to in some way signal where your daughter or sister is going or the connection, you might want to do so and if you had rather not.............. Irregardless RD is right. I guess I don't mind....my daughter is Jasmine "Bri" Dale #33 going to Gardner-Webb., i.e jazzyphamom. Those on the AAU circuit will know her as "Bri" but not to be confuse with the Bri that post, that's someone else.
  14. Oh man that would be perfect for since my wife is at Work. question: do you have an idea of how many of the young ladies from Rock Springs will be attending LHS next year. It seems Lavergne, Siegel, Blackman, and Riverdale are going to be good for at least the next 5 years Not really, Ice Cold...are you a Nupe??...Anyways, I don't...I heard the Nichols girl might be going some where else, I hope not because she would be a great asset to the program next year and probably could come in & start. I agree, the coach at Rock Springs does a great job, he put out great teams year after year, whereas every since Coach P left LMS, the teams there have not been so great. I think if she stayed there, you probably would have seen some better teams at LMS. Coaching does make a difference!! I actually think Siegel & RD will be the top teams in the district next year. I think Oakland will make some noise, they have a good core of young players that have stepped up & played well this year. Are they only losing Randolph this year??
  15. Only you know what this means....maybe you can share.
  16. Haven't heard anything about the Blackman/LaVergne makeup game scheduled for today. I heard last night they might play it at 1 p.m but no word yet. Maybe Bri/Terry5276 can shed some light.
  17. Phargis.....my daughter is not LaQuinta Jefferson who is going to Kentucky, but she is a great player and is going to be a good one for that program.....
  18. Whew, y'all have been doing some posting this weekend, sorry I have missed out but had a very busy Saturday & had to catch up on some homework... First, I hope everyone had a fantastic Valentine's Day, hope it was good for everyone @IceCold...not sure if you are all that neutral but it's still all good I think Quinta is getting more confident as her knee continues to heal. I saw some things she did the other night, that was old Quinta, so I believe as the post season goes, you will see her step up more and more. Sometimes it's not easy coming from a knee injury & not being as mobile as you like. @ RDMan....what a pleasure to meet you & your lovely wife on Friday night. It was a great gesture for you to come over and encourage our girls. Your unselfishness is one to be admired. You appear to be a great supporter of all sports at RD & hopefully the folks over there appreciate your committment to the program. Also, thanks for recognizing that in my post that I was having fun...we sometimes get on here & take this way tooooo serious. I have seen where people have started name calling & etc. because they allow their flesh get in the way & get offended....ummm I'm not going to call any names, truth & justice. @ Terry5276, welcome to Coach T although you are new to the board, you are not new to basketball. Glad to see your daughter step up the past 2 games. I think some people have been worried about her and I'm sure they were glad to see the senior and leader of this team come thru with big scoring performances. She's an awesome young lady first & next an awesome player. I will agree with you about the officiating...it has been horrible and it's not fair for grown folks to come in & not call the game fair, especially when these young folks have worked hard all year long. I think IC stated the players need to not focus so much on the officiating, but that's easier said when you are sitting in the stands watching the game from your nice comfey seat and not getting hacked. @ Oldhoopsdad....are you Coach Maxwell father?? Just curious, you seem to always appear when something is going on with RD. She is a good coach though, will she win coach of the year?? @ Phargis....LaVergne was in this position last year & not to take anything for granted, I believe we will be ready to play come tournament time. Winning the district would have been nice, but I think the main goals at this point are to win/place in the top 4 at district....win/place top 2 in the regional, win substate....win state!! There's a lot of basketball left to be played.
  19. U are right Mr. PHargis, LaVergne did come ready to play....fell a little short. Coach Dean wasn't in attendance, out ill. Good game by the Lady Wolverines, there are some things that need tweaking but I saw the passion & the desire, way to stay in there & fight. Congrats to RD, on winning the regular season title, but come Friday a whole new season starts, so it's anybody's game.
  20. Anxious are we!!!.....well it does appear that RD can win the 7AAA district with a win tonight over LaVergne but I don't think it going to happen. I know our girls our ready & I going to declare right now on Coach T @ 10:45 a.m that we will come out victorious tonight. I think it's only fair that we come to your place & return the favor of they lopsided loss a few weeks ago..... I dont think so Jazzy i think we are going to lay the SMACK DOWN ON ALL YALL and show you a great time at our gym. lol jk I wonder if this is the first time lavergne has played at our gyn i do not think we have really played each other in the past RDMan....let me get in on some of that wrestling terminology.... maybe we will "come off the ropes" & then" body slam" yall all over yall gym....lol. It's going to be a good game, much better than the last one. I think it is....since my daughter has been at LaVergne...we have never played @ RD or against them. That's funny, I wonder why, especially since we are in the same county. @ truth&justice....u need to be a better reflection of the first part your name. Stop getting on here with that kind of nonsense.
  21. It also looks like every game in the district is important tonight, every game have important implications in the district standings. Blackman is @ Siegel and Smyrna is @ Oakland. Should be a terrific night of basketball action in the 'Boro!!
  22. Anxious are we!!!.....well it does appear that RD can win the 7AAA district with a win tonight over LaVergne but I don't think it going to happen. 23. So, the Blackman vs LaVergne game next Monday will be Blackman's Sr nite??....oh shucks, I might be crying with you!!
  24. Congrats to Oakland but I would say yall should give LaVergne a very big "thank-you" as they practically handed that gave over when they had it in the bag. Tough loss for the Wolverines.
