  1. It means that Hoptown offered to play Alcoa at Alcoa without getting any money or anything and the head man at Alcoa said NO!! Anyways good luck this year hope Alcoa wins it all again.
  2. I never said Alcoa was afraid of Hopkinsville. The staff at Hoptown tells me that by playing Alcoa first game last year made them a better team and it showed by the end of the year Hoptown won their district and lost in the 3rd round by 3 points to the 3A runner-up. If I recall Alcoa won state without Warren and several other by a pretty wide margin. Alcoa replace Hopkinsville with Booker T. a team that Hopkinsville beat 55-7 with no starters playing the 2nd half. I was just saying that there were alot of KY college scouts who wanted to see Alcoa in person and now that won't happen. Hopkinsville RB Emanuel Taylor who played his first organize game against Alcoa (98yds rushing) is being hyped as KY Mr.Football and has offeres from every D.1 school in the south.
  3. Tom, I'm not a coach but do help help out with the Hopkinsville football team and you are dead wrong on several issues. First one of the TD's was called back because of one of Alcoa's players horsecollar Hoptown's DE to the ground. It is very visiable on film. 2nd Warren was nevered chocked it happen in front of me. Hoptown's player did hit him late in the facemask with his palm. After that Warren whipped him like a stepchild. It's hard to throw a guy out of the game when he is on his back getting hit several times on top of the helment. Hoptown has offered to travel to knoxville to play the game but Aloca wants no part of this game. Hoptown is loaded this year and many KY colleges were going to attend the game (UK, UofL, WKY, EKY, murray state and Austin Pea were going to be there).
  4. We played Alcoa last season and they were by far the best team we played all season. They put a good wipping on us (36-6). We had a hard time believing that Maryville could beat them so handly. By playing Alcoa it made us a better team. We ended up winning our district and lost in the Regional Finials by 3 points to the 3A state runner up Bowling Green. Should have won fumbled on the 3 yard line on first down. Last year against Alcoa our 1st year QB struggled throwing 2 picks in the 1st quarter that set the tone for the rest of the game. He did however, ended up playing well the rest of the season threw for around 1,500 yards and set the school record for complection percentage 64%. We also has a RB(Emanuel Taylor) who rushed for over 1,600 yards in his first year of playing organize football. He is up for Mr. Football this season and will be a D.1 player. West Virginia is coming down next week to give him a visit. I thought Alcoa played with class and Branden Warren should have not been thrown out of the game. We look forward playing Alcoa next year and should give them a better game. The game is still on and will be the first game 6:00 of the Bowl schedule in Trigg County.
  5. I hope everybody who is going to the game has a safe trip. The tigers really are looking forward to see how they match-up with Alcoa. After see some tape of Alcoa, I have to say that are good as we have being hearing. Hoptown thinks they have a team that can make alot of noise this year and have an outside change of winning state, but Alcoa will be the best team we will play all year no matter how far we make it. Alcoa offense is really balance and polish. Defensive wise they don't play great technique but more than make up for with great talent and speed. No.1 can really turn it on when he has to. Good luck and enjoy WKY. p.s- If anybody needs directions when you get to Nashville take 24 west to Clarksville that will lead you to Hopkinsville. Once in Hopkinsville you will take a left at the bypass that will lead you to 68 west toward Cadiz, KY.
  6. I don't coach Clayton is scared to play anybody, before he left Franklin From Hokinsville he schedule Alcoa and Male out of loiusville for the first two games. he likes to play a tuff early schedule to see where they need help at.
  7. There are alot of people looking forward to see Alcoa play Hoptown. Rumor is that there will be several schools(WKY, UofL & Ky) sending their scouts to look at the Alcoa's kids. Hoptown has several kids getting looks from these schools and having a team like Alcoa coming up to play the speedy tigers has created a buss around the western part of the state.
  8. My son plays against them for their season opening game. Could someone tell me a brief summary about them? What kind of offense and defense do they run? What are some of their strengths and weakness if they have any? One of the hoptowns' coaches said"he heard that they have 2 potential Mr. Football for Tenn. Is this true? Are they well-coached? thank you.
  9. I'm just funning with you boys, anybody going up to Louisville to watch KY all-stars beat Tenn for the 3RD year in the row?
  10. I believe I need to inform some reader who Alcoa plays 1st game is Hopkinsville High School. The game is at Trigg County it is the 2nd game of the double hitter line up. Rebel mention that there was turmoil over the hiring of the tigers head coach. If there is some it's not there now. They had 74 kids out the last two weeks. Last week they played in a 7 on 7 passing tournment that was called border war. Six teams from Ky and 6 from Tenn. Hopkinsville won the event beating all six Tenn teams(cooksville & Portland) pretty easily. Hoptown has two QB's that could start for most teams in Tenn/KY. No problem at that position. Hoptown has some of the best athletes in the state of KY and has possible 3 D1 kids, one being Levar Weston who full squates 650LBS. Hoptown is noted for their speed and this should be one of their fast teams ever. They have two DL that run onder 4.7 forty, and all of their receivers around 4.6 range. Now for the reader who is from Murray KY don't compare that sorry team to Hoptwon, thats like comparing clarksville high to Riverdale. They were never ranked? Ihope the boys from Alcoa are over looking the tigers.
