Well it sounds like you are trying to BLAME the seniors for the losing season. It's not ok to place blame on anyone else but it is OK to blame the Seniors though? Is that how it works?

 

Sometimes there can be tons of talent and if the team cannot respect and LIKE each other, you will NOT win. From the sounds of it you didn't like your teammates (or at least five of them). No wonder you didn't do well as a team. I will guarantee you if you have a bad attitude towards your teammates next year you will not do any better or possibly worse.

You are misunderstanding what I am saying here. We had a lot of internal problems this year. I don't think we worked hard enough on or off the field to be as good as we can be. All of us not just the seniors but they are leaders and I personally think that they did not do a good job on leading US the way we should go. I knew the season was not going to go well in the summer. There was no indication that we were going to go out there and work hard to do well.

I like all the girls from the team my problem is that we did not work HARD enough as we have done in the past. Well these senior girls have several things to remember from this past year, the first ever to make it to region, the first ever in 7 years to have a losing season and ... the first time in 9 years to have a girl on the team pregnant.

We did well....

... they are just good and we were not as ready for the game as we should have been.. but we will see them in the region championships and it will be a brand new game.

Well too bad we are not going to see them again. I am very dissapointed with the way we played all year long. And yes i am a player on the team. Let me tell you something about Smyrna Soccer...we had poor leadership, not talking about the coach because she tried to do her best, that is all she could do with her experience, but with the senior class. They were bossy and rude, they thought that they were the stuff and by far they were not! They called a meeting to tell us all to quit writting on this board because it was affecting our team, they are full of crap. They are the ones that were not playing hard on the field. They lead the rest of us to our first losing season here at smyrna in 7 years. Yes we did make it to the region this year for first time ever but look around us people, a lot of teams were weaker this year that ever before. Did we have the talent to win it all this year? (meaning district) YES. Everyone is happy with what we accomplish but come on really, are you people serious? We did nothing all year, we have amazing talent but we did nothing with it. Coach cares but has no ability when it comes to soccer ( sorry coach ) and some girls on the team think they are actually better than they are. If they work as hard as the rest of us worked ... we could have a winning season but anyway. From the beginning of the season everyone had determine to assign blame on the previous coach for the entire year which I personally find disturbing. It was us that played on the field, it us US that had a losing season, it is US that did not work hard enough and it is US that need to take the blame. The future of Smyrna Soccer is with us not him or her!!!

I said my peace so I can now concetrate on my off season.

It was not our fault on what happened to beech, it was their fault, they should follow the rules! Besides we will beat them next time. We are getting better and we are jelling. We are back!!!

There is nothing between us. They beat us last year in the semis of the district when we should have killed them but they are mad at us because when they won the championship match vs Hendersonville at our field (we were hosting) the police officers did not let them come into the field for safety issues so they were all upset about that. this year we played awesome against them and we should have won but with some home cooking from the refs they won again. We will see them in the playoffs though where it counts.

I was checking out Scorpionking's profile and it said his/her local time was one hour earlier than ours here in TN.  Hmmm...isn't Missouri one hour behind us....interestling...

Let's all calm down please. Baller5 you need to be very careful about the way you are talking on here. If you have read the rules you can see that it is not tolerated to trash coaches or other players on CoachT site. Please refrain from doing that or I will delete every post you are posting on here. I am not sure who you are but I am disappointed that one of my ex players talks like that. Whitey and Coach of 3 I apologize for that, I like to think that I taught my girls better than that.

Yea, you mean that old gray headed peckerwood that has won five state titles but is an idiot when it comes to soccer and his players because he is just downright mean and hateful?  I know what you mean because I hate him too!  I can't actually believe that some his players like him though and that one of them that is grown up and married was stupid enough to name their first child after him -- can you belive that!  What a dip she must be.

Baller wrong coach I think Yes my players do come to me and yes I listen to their suggestions. Sorry if I have offended you not my intent. My point was  for you to take responsibility for the things you can control.

    2-0 to Shelbyville not a bad loss at all they are a quality team-I would say the best in Region 4 (but just my humble opinion)

Alan Brownyard Warren Co. (by the way I considered Coach Dakis a great competitor(sp) and a coach that got the most from his team. I always respected him on the soccer field)

He is not there anymore!!! Parents got involved and he got upset at them so he resigned after he found a job elsewhere. We beat Shelbyville last year and look this year, we lost 2 players and our coach and we are 0-2 and we have been scored 7 times in 2 games, last year? 11 times in 23 games!! Do you think we are doing better? As much as I want to be optimistic ... it does not look this way, look at our schedule...we are having some touch games and a long season to go.

Sorry I thought you were the old guy with the glasses from Warren County, the one everyone dislikes.

I would suggest that you buck up and play for yourselves - even if you don't like the coach. Your soccer careers will be over before you know it. Leave it all on the field and forget about the politics.

 

It may seem corny and I might sound like I am lecturing you but one day you may have a boss you can't stand. You have to live with it or you can quit. No difference here.

 

I'm of the opinion that you should always respect your coach no matter what. You don't have to like him or her, but you should always show respect. If he or she doesn't think your practicing hard enough or working hard enough during a match, then work harder.

All these are great suggestions but...she is clueless about soccer and Oh my God...she is absolutely awful when she trying to make adjustments. I have played for smyrna and that was our worst ever loss ( 3-5 ) and some of us think that tonight we will get pounded by Shelbyville if we play.

hey soccerplyr5 i just want to know where u get your facts from because the 2 players lost last year were huge assets to the Smyrna team and their coach just let his mouth get the best of him sometimes. let me  guess though...your an all star... doubt it

I am with you scorpionking24. Jarethea is a huge loss and woods is a big blow to our flank attack but losing coach is major to our team. We got scored 11 times last year after 23 matches but in the first game this year we got scored 5. I hope we improve but it is not looking the same as before. I have never seen our team getting blown away like that before in any game. last year there was only Farragut that was able to score 3 times on us after we lost to them 3-2 and now we lose to Clarksville 5-3? I am not very optimistic.....for the rest of the year or the new coach, she is not as good as him (last 6 year's coach, don't want to mention his name and get phillip george mad hahahaha) and she is not as she seemed in the beginning, she is actually meaner than him.
