  1. CoachT is a place where you debate the merits of why or why not there should be a split. Real merits. You talk about which team is better from your viewpoint. Those things can be done without slandering and libeling other people and institutions - all of whom have reputations, jobs, and families to feed. Just a thought next time someone thinks that it is OK to just jump out and say ... "well, if my team can't beat them with our best team ever and they are a private school ... well they must be cheating." /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  2. Ha! Agree with you and it's a great post! Classic! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  3. The issue really is that saying things in public venues (including Internet forums) that are not factually based is tantamount to libel. Just as everyone in this country is innocent until proven guilty, everyone has the right to be free of libelous claims. That is why there is libel ... it is a litigatable offense. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
  4. Apparently you did not have the pleasure of attending Mrs. Ruff's English class to realize that I was not saying you said that, but that it was a rhetorical statement as one pointed towards people on the other side of the fence that can make the same types of statements. As for representing anyone or thing, I don't ... I represent myself. My kids won't be going to FCS nor do I continue to have a strong affiliation with the school other than to remain close friends with several of the coaches. So jump down off that high horse and let's talk about the thread at hand. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> I believe my last post asked for some hard FACTS. You got any? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" I know MPHS doesn't. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  5. Alright .. we are finally getting somewhere. You want to talk facts only! Yippee! OK ... a few questions ... remember, facts only ... 1. Do you have documented proof of a D1 cheating and being caught? /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> 2. If so, have you turned said private in and have they been punished by the TSSAA? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> 3. Are you aware that there are several school "districts" that allow kids from outside their "zones" (including outside city school districts AND outside of counties) attend and participate in sports? /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> Remember, facts only ... I'd hate for this to get into innuendo and rumor. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  6. If you live your entire life catering and cowtowing to others ... it will be a long life. I get tickled when other's think private school grads should be held to a different standard. Why shouldn't I be able to say that my kids won't attend a public if public supporters say theirs won't attend a private? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" I know you are a youngin' (and I actually know who you are). Don't spend so much time trying to make friends with those that really and really don't want to be friends with you when you stick to your guns.
  7. What is funny is that you can stand behind your own claims of Christianity, but then you turn and say things that amount to lies. I'm not a theologian, but I'm pretty sure that lies and judging others is not very Christ like. You say things about very upstanding institutions that work hard to make ends meet and work within the rules even after having a multiplier applied. A multiplier that states that private kids are 1.8 times better than public counterparts ... and no, the privates don't feel that way ... your peers feel that way. You have ZERO proof that any of those things happen. Face it. MP has a good team, but not great. It's a fact. Live with it. Good luck with your crusade. Hopefully one day you will find some peace. Although, I'm sure you'll find something else. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  8. Hehe! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  9. You are a poster child for why my kids won't attend a public ever. Please read the word ... PUBLIC. I did not say private. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Public tax dollars at work baby! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> The word "either" is an adjective that means "being one of the other of two". Meaning that taking your angle that privates ... awe forget it ... you'll never get it. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  10. I was actually recruited by 2 different area public schools during junior high and then by my former coaches after I had began attending FCS. They literally visited my house on several occassions. I even ate lunch with one at his expense. Is that wrong? During a summer baseball camp, I had another TN public school coach that was roughly 150 miles from my house say that he could take care of living arrangements for me to attend his school. Is that wrong?
  11. Can you name a specific instance of a kid being recruited by a private? A real instance where a school has been caught and punished for said action? Or are you running in the same mold as Mr. Mt. Pleasant? Nice to see a fellow FCS grad on here. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  12. Ahem ... can you specifically quote the spot that I said it then. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> Didn't think so! Ha ha! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> Stinks when your argument falls apart doesn't it. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />
  13. There isn't a single other private poster that has said ... my school recruits. It is pretty easy to sign up for multiple IDs and post as someone else though. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> As for paying for someone elses tuition. A school has ZERO envolvement in the tuition process except for collecting the checks. If it is a D1 school, they collect checks for full tuition if they play athletics. Period. That's it. The school is hands off completely other than that. If it is a D2 school, they collect either full tuition or PARTIAL tuition with the remainder coming from a secondary entity that handles all private school tuition ASSISTANCE awards. No one receives full tuition FROM the private school or anywhere else for that matter. There are NEVER full awards - I think they most you can qualify for is 30% (although that number may be off). It is a separate entity and it is a loan. Their guardians must submit submit information much in the same way that you would if you wanted a LOAN for college. By continuing to argue about a subject that you know very little about ... you are digging a bigger hole. But making it easier for the real truth to come out. Even if you won't believe it. Do you think there aren't families in say the Shelbyville area that may have gotten some assistance in moving to town. Like say, Mom and/or Pop were given jobs in town so their Lil Miss can play ball there? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  14. I did not say that they do no wrong. USJ had the tuition fiasco last year. However, it was not related to recruiting. It was a clerical oversite and they paid dearly for it. Do you know for a FACT of any that have not fully abided by the rules and actually recruited? I mean come on ... Marco is a stud and don't you think that schools such as privates (namely Williamson Co ones) would have been knocking on his door? Surely he would have told you about it. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> Right! More innuendo. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  15. Ha! No, that didn't come out of my mouth. I'm just tossing the same innuendo around that your seem to like. I mean ... there must be a majic mountain stream in Blount county just underneath the only 2 city school systems there. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  16. A few small and large publics can not dominate a decade of football without some assistance either. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  17. A revision of this statement should have been ... "Never underestimate the power of prejudiced people in large groups!" Peer pressure in action baby!
  18. NO PRIVATES RECRUIT. Period. There is no argument there. Funny how when your "whacked" reply was firmly rebutted ... you went straight back into "everybody knows it happens" without proof propaganda. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  19. That is actually what is nice about the merit system. When you do hit a rough patch in terms of talent, your classification will adjust to a more competitive classification for you. No "whack". My parents did without a ton and picked up extra jobs in order to pay for me and my siblings to go to a private school. And your "parking spot" reference is way off base too. All schools do what they can to raise funds - including prime parking spots at small publics. ALL schools have a few well to do parents that can afford that type of luxury ... it isn't the norm. NO ONE is recruited at a private. I agree that some parents may actually decide to send their kids to a private because of a good athletic program. But that is the same with ANY school. Don't you think that happens at Alcoa, Maryville, Riverdale, or Shelbyville? Some parents completely change residences just to afford their children the opportunity to partcipate in extracurriculars at those schools. Just as some do for academic and arts reasons with public magnet schools.
  20. Correct. In the quarterfinals ... that didn't make Temple a world beater. Just a quarterfinal qualifier in 1A ... just like Hampton ... so if Temple is a world beater in your book, so is Hampton. Although, Hampton has done it year after year. There are lots of schools "near 2A numbers". More now since multiplied private 2A's actually have 1A enrollments. You really don't understand the role of magnets. Magnets are not public sports recruiting schools set up to compete with privates ... they are academic achievement schools either on a general level or for specific subjects like drama, science, etc. Your comment shows how little you really know about the subject. The interesting thing about magnets (especially in basketball - Liberty and MLK) is that coaches at those schools have been able to use the system to get out of zone kids. It has ZERO to do with competing with privates in any sense. But isn't the out of zone thing what you are complaining about with privates? Seems hypocritical to me. And Liberty is a 2A ... and ranked 19 in the NATION. What 10 or 12 privates in 1A? I don't think there are a full total of 12 privates left in 1A ... including the likes of MTCS and MJCA. FCS has never been a factor until this year and I believe NEVER got past the quarterfinals until this year. Neither has JCS. That's it. Temple was a one and done. What other privates are whoopin' up on your boys?
  21. The real question is how many of those kids are officially zoned for another school ... since Libery is an open zoned magnet.
  22. You only want to toss TC because they (and others) totally invalidate your argument. TC is 100% legally in 1A. Are you saying that they cheat? They have the same resources as every other public. You have no argument. For the years that TC has been in 1A, a public won the championship 6 out of 9 times. That is domination. No matter how you spin the private school thing. Since you brought up the fact that Temple beat Hampton but only made it to the quarterfinals (that is only the final 8 of TN 1A) ... why aren't you jumping up and down about Liberty being ranked #19 in the NATION after only 3 or so years of existence?
  23. Why not discuss TC? It is apples to apples. They have 1A enrollment. All other 1A publics schools have access to the same resources. You don't want to discuss TC, South Pitt, maybe a Hampton or a few others because they do win and compete with whoever is in 1A regardless of public or private. It complete nullifies your argument so you dismiss it.
  24. Privates won a few in a row ... but it wasn't because TC lost to them. It was because TC was in 3A (and ending their seasons deep in the playoffs there). JCS is moving to 2A because their school had too large of a jump in population that caused a mid-reorg push into 2A instead of it happening in 2 years ... not because they won the championship. No, there are at least 2 (spelled T-W-O) that folks have tossed out that have at least or more championships than any other individual private - TC and South Pitt. Trousdale and then South Pitt of course.
  25. Nope. All that qualified for 2A with the multiplier 2 years ago moved then. Not individually after winning a championship. That is laughable and some of the same ole misinformation that private haters toss around as fact. TC didn't have a problem when they were in 1A with TC and the privates combined (read 4 out of 9 championships ... or 44.4% ... almost a majority ) . They have by far won the MOST (sorry for the misspeak before) championships.
