  1. Congrats to the Lady Commanders who get their heads on straight and win 67-34. Not a perfect game, but much better effort.
  2. I'm having a similar problem. For example I've been trying to add the Friendship Christian - Trousdale County women's score from their game Jan 9. It will let me enter the score 79-26 but then comes back with a confirmation or double check. The button to submit is covered by a Wendy's pop-up so I can't confirm the score. I'm using IE 6.0
  3. At the end I was as much disappointed that the players on our bench were not counting down the clock as much as anything else. Good teams help the players on the floor with small things like that. Those small things become huge things in plays like that. If you saw the end you know the freshman was trying to get Warmath the ball. She was unsure how much time there was on the clock. I think Coach Teeter knows exactly what she has and is trying hard to use all the skills she has available to her. With a wide open look I would have been comfortable with any of our 7-8 that play a lot taking that last second shot. Ideally you'd want Warmath, Hay or Lancaster to take it. It's our fault for it having to come down to a last second shot to tie. I think this continues to be an unshelfish team. They win as a team and here they lose as a team. We need to take a few and get our heads screwed back on and play like we're capable of playing.
  4. Eagleville's run was 8-1 against the starters. Starters all come out at about the 4 min mark and stay out until the 2nd quarter begins. Score then is 17-1. To the Lady Commanders credit they make a game of it, but still lose 50-47. Have to give it up to Lenker of the Lady Eagles who dropped 33 on the Lady Commanders. We didn't play well to say the least and put ourselves in a bad position. Not sure if it was a let down after being so up against Westmoreland, I just hope we learned our lesson.
  5. Zac and Beth Stark will be coaching a 16 and 17 year old travel team for Tennessee Team Pride this summer. They will be looking for 8-10 juniors and 2-3 sophomores to play on the team. The focus will be on developing the skills of the players inside a team framework in order to allow them to play basketball at the college level (5 players off of the 2008 team have signed college scholarships). The team will practice in the Nashville area and play in numerous exposure events. If you are interested in your daughter playing on the team and would like Beth or Zac to evaluate her during the high school season, please send an email to bzstark@hotmail.com. Tryouts will be held after the high school season for those spots that remain open. Beth coached college basketball for 4 years (3 at Belmont University) and has coached with Team Pride for 4 years. Zac has been a coach with Team Pride for 5 years.
  6. Open gym will be held for ages 8u-12u at Hooptown basketball academy on Sun Jan 25, 2009 from 2-4 pm. Participants should come ready to play and take part in drills. The next Open gym will be Feb 8, 2009. Top 2 NCAA National leading scorers include 2 former Team Pride players. Dawn Evans ( James Madison) leads the nation in scoring with 25.3 points per game and Alysha Clark (MTSU) is 2nd in the nation at 24.1. Clark is 26th in the nation in field goal % at 55.6. Evans is 7th in 3pt per game at 3.1. Emily Pollock ( Austin Peay) is 38th in the nation in assists and 33rd in steals. For more information check our web site at www.TennesseeTeamPride.com
  7. Congrats to Carly Warmath and Katy Vaughan as they each scored their 1000th point Saturday night in the Middle Tennessee Classic Tournament. I don't remember 2 teammates doing that in the very same game.
  8. FCS's starters played about 4 minutes of the third quarter and one minute of the fourth. Any yes, when you look up the word class in the dictionary there is a picture of Coach Teeter.
  9. Watertown will come to play and cannot be overlooked. Thompson has the ability to put up some big numbers. It will be interesting to see if the Lady Commanders can make the game fast enough where she is not a factor or unable to get good touches. Lady Commanders need to find a way to finish... layups, free throws, games. If they take care of the first 2 the last one will take care of itself. Clay County and Middle Tennessee Christian were close games that we felt like we should have won. Watertown is a district game and not a time to come up short. Finish.
  10. Open gym will be held for ages 8u-12u at Hooptown basketball academy on Sun Dec 14, 2008 from 4-6 pm. Participants should come ready to play and take part in drills. www.TennesseeTeamPride.com
  11. MTCS wins by 1 in overtime. Katie Dunn pulls a rebound and goes coast to coast for a bucket at the buzzer. Friendship was up my 9 at the half and had too much foul trouble in the second half and too many times where they let the Lady Cougars dribble the length of the floor for layups. FCS must learn to play good defense without fouling.
  12. This will be close like the games last year. MTCS has good players and very well coached. This will depend on 1) how the ball falls and 2) who can stay our of foul trouble. I think the Lady Commanders may be a little deeper, but the starting 5 for the Lady Cougars can play with anyone.
  13. Lady Commanders win. Very unselfish group.
  14. Try posting in the AAU board below and look at Tennessee Girls Basketball site at www.tngirlsbasketball.net
  15. Not true - Tennessee Team Pride will continue as it has. Our teams will continue to play in competitive tournaments around the nation. Tom directs some of those. Nothing new about us playing in those type of tournaments.

  17. Next open gym will be Sunday Dec 14, 2008 from 4-6 pm for ages 8u-12u at Hooptown.
  18. Open gym will be held for ages 8u-12u at Hooptown basketball academy on Sun Nov 16, 2008 from 4-6 pm. Participants should come ready to play and take part in drills. For more information about Team Pride check our website TennesseeTeamPride.com

  20. Ashley Johnson to coach Devilettes Reported by the Wilson Post (on line) Wilson Post
  21. Tennessee Team Pride is the 11u Tennessee State Champions after beating the Tennessee Glory 52-35. KGC Lady Pride was third after beating the Memphis Bobcats 52-35. Congratualtions to all the winners!
  22. AAU has what they call district qualifying tournaments. In Tennessee, it's the state tournaments. This year for 16u or JR there was no sub-state tournament, just a state tournament. Any team that pays the fee, does the paperwork on time and enrolls each player in AAU can play in the tournament. There are bids available at the state tournament for AAU Div I Nationals. No team has to take a bid. They may have conflicting tournaments to attend or decide they just don't want to go. You are not obligated to take a bid.
