You may not be familiar with girls AAU in Tennessee. The sub-state tournament is part of the overall qualifying tournament for the AAU National Championship Tournament. Some states play only one tournament, Tennessee has broken theirs into two. The top 2 teams in each age group from the 4 sub state tournaments play in a state tournament. The winner and runner up of the state tournament gets a very nice trophy and the girls and coaches get medals.

Today is the deadline for 9-13u teams! Don't get left out!

The deadline is for the club to file and say they intend to play in the AAU district qualifier. Players can add up to the time the coach must turn the roster into the substate directors.

14u & 15u tryouts will be March 9th 2008 from 1-4 pm CST at Hooptown. 16u & 17u tryouts will be March 9th 2008 from 3-5 pm CST at Hooptown

Remember, with the girls state tournament approaching, so is the deadline to register for AAU. Coaches Bios: Beth Stewart Stark was a women??™s assistant coach and director of recruiting at Belmont University for 3 years from 2004-2007. Beth served as the assistant coach at the University of Alabama in Huntsville for 1 year in 2003. Beth played at Lipscomb University from 1992-1996 and is the school??™s all time leading scorer with 2,880 points. Beth was a three time NAIA All American while at Lipscomb. Beth was inducted into the Lipscomb Hall of Fame on Feb 9, 2008. Zac has coached for Team Pride for 4 years (15 and 16 year old girls), coached at David Lipscomb Middle School for 2 years and served as an assistant at Cannon County High School for 1 year. Zac currently works for Deloitte and Touche, LLP, as a CPA. Zac had three younger sisters who played college basketball at Lipscomb University and Zac played minor league baseball for 8 years in various organizations.

I hate to ask here because I know you can't post, but did you change your name? I don't see your club in the AAU D1 national results. Sorry if I missed it, but I looked in both 15u and JR. There is a Nautilus Express in Virginia.

FCS has no (zero - nada) seniors this year.

The chairman found out from the national office that if clubs qualify for nationals by attending a super regional before the district qualifying state tournament and that club would have received a bid from the state tournament, then the bid is passed to the next qualifying club. In short, the state cannot stop the bid from passing down. Similarly, if a club who has a previous bid from district qualifying or super regional then attends a super regional were they would qualify again, that bid is passed to the next qualifying club.

The Fall meeting of Tennessee Girls AAU Basketball is Sunday, October 28th at 10am at Cumberland University. The meeting will be in the tiered classroom of Labry Hall just across the street from the Dallas Floyd Gym.
