I don't actually know.Im sure kids on S.Pitt,Moire Co,etc deserve it as well.Just saying. If LC was to have played Perry Co ,Bruceton instead of Central and Dyersburg,he'd probably have 3000 yards now instead of about 2000.But he also had 265 yards against Dresden.Think 165 against Dyersburg in which many think is best defense in West Tenn.Tough matchups against JCS and Union City coming up..They strong anyway and basically Mullins has a bullseye on him.Should do pretty well what he wants against Greenfield. But earn his yards against other 2 teams. But I'm sure others are great nominations as well so just don't think a kid from a  team that's going to finish 5- 5 will win.But those 5 teams are Central,Dyersburg,Dresden,Probably JCS,Union City.So in all honesty. How many teams in Single A would beat those teams?

Mullins is with out a doubt the best RB that Dyersburg has seen. The only one with even close to 100 yards.

Covington hosts Scott’s Hill in the first meeting ever between these two schools. To be honest, I had never heard of Scott’s Hill until the new Region 7-3A was announced.

From what I see on the internet, Scott’s Hill has been playing football for 15 years. They were 6-5 last year. The Massey Matchup tool picks Covington to win 40-7.  However, the Chargers are 1-2 at this point and are showing glaring weaknesses, particularly in the defensive secondary. Can Coach Kirby get his team to step up and play winning football, or will this slide continue?

As a Charger fan I hope that the defense will gel and get it together. What’s the thinking on Coach T?

I have only seen Covington against Dyersburg so I cant make a good accessment of the secondary but Dyersburg only had 65 yards passing against Covington.

Let's get back to the Covington-Dyersburg game. The Commercial Appeal has this prediction:

    Covington (1-1) at Dyersburg (2-0)

    When: 7 p.m., Friday

Covington’s Skylan Smith rushed for 258 yards with four touchdowns in a 35-27 win over Brighton in Week 2. Look for Smith to have another strong performance because just like last season, when he gets going, the team succeeds. The Chargers begin their pursuit for a second consecutive undefeated Region 7-3A record.

    Wilcox’s pick: Covington 42, Dyersburg 35

I would bet my paycheck that he does not have 258 yards against Dyersburg and Covington is not scoring 42 points. Fact.

You need to get out of West Tennessee and come to the UpperCumberland where there is more gold and silver than anywhere else in the state in girls basketball. Upperman takes a backseat to nobody. They are the reigning state champions and they have beaten southside on the floor when it counted and until then they are still the state champions and they will be at the state tournament. Let’s just find out how good Southside is but until they win, don’t crown them just yet. I get they’ve beaten up on all the cupcakes in West Tennessee but now they have to play real competition. There are four teams in district 7 that could have easily went undefeated with that schedule.

Well, I think Covington can win, but will argue with you about the coaching.

Last year at this same point in the playoffs, Dyersburg beat Covington. Same two coaches this year. There are two differences this year.

First, this game is in Covington switching the home-field advantage to the Chargers.

Second, Dyersburg graduated a strong senior class, and is much younger this year.

What you say is true. Im not trying to ruffle feathers but the difference is Dyersburg has a big downturn in performance when talent is a little down or young. Im sure Covington graduated some key players last year. Some coaches seem to rely on talent to carry them. Just my opinion.
