  1. i cant remember the scores but i went 2 btw game and dyer co was in the house. i been sayin it all year btw didnt play anybody this season. they are not that good.

What do you mean when you say Dyer Co was in the house? Did they bring thier team down to watch the game or was it there coaches? Also I heard that BTW threw the game so they wouldnt have to be on the same side as Mitchell. Anyone confirming that?

  2. I just call it like I see it. I am sure there are several examples of both fans acting in a bad way. I can go there if I want. That is why this is a message board. If you are a DC fan and don't know how to use it then don't.

The game last night was a good one. The DC team showed why they are #1 in the state and I am sure they will represent west tn well. I was prepared to back the DC team all the way until after the game was over....

After a convicing win, Rex Pierce decides to pull his jersey off and shake it at the Dyersburg Crowd. Wow. I was really upset when Rex left Dyersburg becuase I thought he was a terrific player. But with that type of display I am glad DC has him. The assitant coaches were smiling and patting him on the back. I guess if you never won anything before then you don't know how to act. This was a pitiful display. It shows why it is hard to pull for DC and why I never can. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

Maybe after your coach leaves this season we will see someone who could add some class to this team.

    GO TROJANS

If I'm not mistaken, I saw both assistants grab rex and talk to him about his behavior after the game. I did not see anyone of the coaches smiling when talking to him. Can anyone else confirm that?

  3. All-District Team

    1. Tyrone Caldwell CHS

    2. Adam Barnes CHS

    3. Lavonte Henderson CHS

    4. Reed Harper CHS

    5. Rayshawn Walker NEHS

    6. Jamarious Alderson NEHS

    7. Matt Gilbert NEHS

    8. Telvin James NEHS

    9. John Primm DCHS

    10. Jermontez Sneed DCHS

    11. Johnathan Williams RHS

    12. Darrius Ingram RHS

    13. William Perry HCHS

    14. Amius Smith KHS

    15. Cory Stanton SHS

    16. Marquis Rudolph NWHS

So who won District MVP and coach of the year? Plus what is the schedule of games?

  4. I don't the kid from Kenwood should be on the list because I didn't see him on the floor enough he had alot of foul trouble, Northwest had a bad year so how can you list someone from that team.

The guys that I saw play held their title of the hype they deserve, Stanton, Walker, Caldwell, Primm, Perry. I can't wait for the tournaments this week because the best game will be Rossview vs Springfield at Rossview.

If you read the post more carefully, you'll see that I was sayin that Walker-Caldwell should be your MVP. Then I went on to say how the future of the district looks bright because of the following players coming back. Marquis Rudolph is still one of the top individual talents in the district despite the teams record. I wasnt saying those players were up for MVP. I definitely wasnt saying that DeMarius Smith from Kenwood should be a MVP candidate.

  5. My predictions on Tuesday's awards ...

    NE - Walker, Alderson, James

    CHS - Caldwell, Henderson, Barnes

    DC - Primm, Bell

    RV - Williams, Childs

    SPR - Stanton, Johnson

    HC - Perry

    KW - A Smith

    NW - Rudolph

    MVP - Caldwell, Walker

    Coach - Darden

    * I think Caldwell, Walker, Primm, and Stanton are the best in the district - all 4 are / or will be / D-1 signees.

I agree. If Walker and Caldwell dont share the MVP, I will be very surprised. Both players have battled and led there teams to a identical record in district play. Primm could have possibly been in the mix had DC beat HC saturday but I hope the coaches do what is right and have Co-MVPs...How impressive will this be to have Tyrone Caldwell be a three time winner and probably could have been co-MVP with drake reed as a freshman. But this district looks to be bright with Williams, Childs at Rossview. Rudolph(nw) D. Smith(KW), and the best of the group could be Corey Stanton from Springfield. He was probably his teams best player as a freshman last year but was dominated by seniors.

  6. The regular season has to be over by the time the district tournament starts...District 14A starts Saturday nite....Couldn't have been played Sat or Mon....I don't doubt McCord wouldn't play...He wouldn't make the deal in the summer either...Believe me,if the teams UC played at Poplar Bluff on three consecutive nites didn't scare the Tornadoes,I know DC doesn't scare them....DC wouldn't play the game in Newbern and split the gate??... /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> ..Wow....

I've heard that DC even said they would come to UC and not take any gate...But all as well, its probably the best thing not to play because of injuries, etc..

  7. Im proud of Springfield pulling of the season sweep of Clarksville, congrats Jackets!

Good win for Springfield but its disappointing that Clarksville didnt get it done on thier home court. But gotta give Stanton alot of credit because the kid can play. He's 10-AAA future MVP of the league. Whos he playing AAU for, Nashville Celtics??

  8. I did notice the Dyer Co. players walk in front of the bleachers along the court to the dressing room. I thought they should have waited until it was over, or went the other way. But its all part of the rivalry I`m sure, kids will be kids.

I overheard a player from Dyer Co saying how thier JV coach jumped down thier throats about walking in front of the crowd while the National Anthem. So I think they learned their lesson and I commend the coach from calling out his players..However, I dont think the DC kids are bad people, they were just disappointed for losing.

  9. Its funny know one has mentioned Tyrone Caldwell (Clarksville) for AAA. Especially after the season he had last year and already has 3 game winners this year as a Senior on a team that is #1 in their district.

MJ Brown sounds like a lock in Single A. Unless you go with the kid from Manassas

Ricky Taylor, Justin Blake, and James Gallman for AA..Maybe John Jenkins or Chase Dunn

Tyrone Caldwell, Jason Jones, Jordan Dameron are all good bets in AAA.

  10. What a crazy night for 10 AAA. CHS beats Dickson at the buzzer, Up and down Rossview beats Northeast by 9 and Springfield and Henry Co combine for 20+ threes with Springfield winning. By the way Kenwood won by three over Nortwest.

    Standings?

    CHS 6-3

    NE 6-3

    DHS 6-3

    RHS 5-4

    SHS 5-4

    Henry 4-5

    KHS 3-6

    NW 1-7

No disrespect to Rayshawn Walker(Northeast) and Jon Primm (Dickson Co) who are both having really good years but I think its safe to say that Tyrone Caldwell is your District MVP for a third straight year. Granted, it will probably come from one of the three schools who wins the regular season title but when you look over each teams and the supporting cast..Night in and Night out Tyrone has to get it done for Clarksville to win games. "Getting it done" not only means putting up points, but he has to have at least 5-7 assist a night along with 7-10 rebounds and 4-5 steals.. Rayshawn has so much better supporting cast and Primm plays in a system that fits him because the slow it down and he takes the majority of the shots. Jonathan Williams(Rossview) is playing extremely well as of late but I think everyone knows that Rossview has been winning because of the complete team effort. Which is fine, thats how is should be but they dont have that one player who is MVP material.

This district has been exteremely interesting to follow, especially the girls side with Rossview beating Northeast.

  11. i have a question for all choctaw fans and players because the word going around is that the dyer county coach is recruiting. is it true that he got players from dyersburg middle and from new madrid to transfer next year? i certainly hope its not because i have respect for mccord and what he has done to a team that was always in trouble both on the court and froedens recruiting.

    WOW!! Where is new madrid?

  12. I believe Arkansas State was in the house in DC tonight! I saw the guy sitting down on the second row in GC's section. Justin Blake put on one heck of a shooting show tonight. I think he finished with 23 or 24. Good Luck to him this season and wherever he goes to in college!

That was not AState at Dyer County Friday..I believe it was Eastern Kentucky University in the OVC..

"Rayshawn Walker isn't head to APSU..he's going to UNC Ashville, as is Jon Primm from Dickson County"

As of now Rayshawn is leaning towards attending Austin Peay..So look at the fact that Tyrone Caldwell has signed, Rayshawn is leaning plus they have a Wing Forward from Illnois who is having a heck of a year.

  13. What has made Prather so Dynamic?

    Simple

High skill-set, extremely athletic, hard worker, coachable, and talented with good intelligence..That usually sums up the good ones. Hes going to be a high major player..I see him playing in the SEC or ACC especially if he gets his ball handling and jump shot more consistent.

  14. They were there looking at him, Arkansas would probably have been a 1st pick except for their coaches leaving.

Arkansas state was the school recruiting Blake. The coaching staff hasnt left and I havent heard any word on if they're leaving.

  15. At least the Lady Rebels and the JV Rebels boys won.... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

From what I was told, you cant really count the boys JV game as a win because it was running clock and they probably only played a half due to the fact Dyer Co had bad weather. Not sure how good either team is but hard to believe Dyer Co lost fairl.

  16. I hate to say it but last year at state tournaments I was more impressed with the AA teams than I was the AAA teams. Maryville won the AAA state championship. Dyer Co. would've beat 'em as well as Liberty and Mitchell. The most impressive AAA team up there IMO was Clarksville. The game between Clarksville and Oakland was probably one of the best high school games I've seen.

Obviously Liberty Tech was the best team in the state for any class..However, I would have given anything to see the Dyer Co-Clarksville game. It would have been interesting to see Dyer Co try to pressure Caldwell. Clarksville wasnt overly big so it would have been a good matchup for each teams forward. Dyer Co seems to be set on not coming out of the press even if its not working and so Clarksville was tough to press because of their guard play. Oakland-Clarksville was the real AAA championship.

  17.

NEVER count out Clarksville..They have owned the league for years now. Its almost a crime to think they wont be there in the end. However, I still think Henry Co is the next best team along with Northeast. So your top three is CHS, HC, and NE in no particular order..Looking forward to seeing the Northeast-Henry Co game...WOW!!

  18. I'm sitting beside Blake's uncle right now..Said he hasn't heard about any Big East schools..I'll see his mother,Vanessa tonight as her younger son plays for Northview and they play at Lake Co..Justin's mom and her brothers and sisters all went to Lake Co schools so I'll ask her tonight at Lake Co

Possibly Austin Peay being the leader at this point..Whats the deal with Arkansas state, anyone knows if they are in the hunt? I doubt TN Tech is really an option but they have done a really good job recruiting him. TN State was on his short list as well as SEMO..Whats the verdict, anyone know?

  19. Is Williams a Jr? I think he is the big man that I like with a nice lefty drop step. Isn't he about 6"4' or 6"5'

Williams is a JR but you're thinking of Donnell Brown. Brown is one of the 4 players that Rossview has that is over 6'4 that has a nice body..

  20. Do you have a link to the article? Or could you tell me which paper it was in? Not that I doubt your veracity but, those are some strong statements.

It was in the Dyersburg State Gazette that came out on Friday. I was very surprised that the coach would make those types of statements considering he hasnt proven himself really and Dyersburg is not what anyone would call a powerhouse of a basketball program. I'm sure Dyer Co has those quotes all over the school.
