  1. Speaking as a fan of WR. I see no improvement. I could write a full page of issues that I see and have heard with my own ears. Everyone has hashed out the why's. Lacking talent. No youth programs or middle school programs. No summer camps. No commitment from coaching staff other than the minimum. You get what you put in to most anything that you do. Take Elizabethton and Greeneville. They were historically good programs but not state champion level programs UNTIL someone made the change. Now look. What changed? The coach? The system? My guess is the folks at Besty and Greeneville that are running the show knew what they wanted and made it happen. The folks at our schools haven't made that commitment.

NET 5A & 6A does not have what it takes to consistently get past the Knox County line and I do not see anything changing that in the foreseeable future.       All of us NET fans have to deal with it in our own way, for the last few years I've been pretty much forgetting that the playoffs exist and concentrated on trying to win the region and counting that as a successful season.         So don't be too down on WR, it's just part of the NET curse.      Pulling for you guys this Friday but I can't see you winning unless a widespread case of trypanosomiasis descends on Cleveland TN

I agree, the entire area is weak minus Elizabethton and Greeneville. I also realize that West Ridge has had some major injuries but minus year #1 where the team was loaded with seniors, they can't compete with Science Hill and DB and IMHO they should, let alone thinking about competing at state level. I get that it takes a culture change from top to bottom to make a winning program. I'm not gonna harp on coaching since I'm just a fan that puts zero time into the program other than just purchasing season tickets yearly, but the offense, play calling, and fundamentals are lacking. I guess I did harp a little. WR's schedule every year tells me they aren't serious about creating a winning culture. I commend DB and Science Hill for scheduling Knoxville teams. I truly believe that West Ridge is just happy to get to the playoffs and that's it. There isn't a mindset of "let's win them all" or what it takes to even achieve that and yes, I've heard that from people in the program. I think they are good men leading the team but I'm just not sure. When West Ridge first opened, someone on CoachT said they are making West Ridge into South 2.0. Nope, it's Central 2.0. I hope everyone has safe travels and it's an injury free game. I know the bears are "loaded for bear" so to speak.

My point. WR will not finish above .500. WB fans think they are the Chiefs after beat 4 teams that can’t line up

West Ridge should finish the season 6-3 with wins over Crockett, Mo-East and Tenn. High and the losses being Jeff Co and Science Hill. William Blount's fans should be happy simply because there record is better than it has been in a few years BUT they did lose to a mediocre team. West Ridge is fairly stout against the run but are absolutely lost when it comes to defending the pass and their tackling is very suspect. I don't know if the coaches decided to drop 8 and rush 3 but I saw NO pressure applied to the WB QB practically all night long. I, and that's saying a lot, could make a completion with that amount of time to throw the ball.

Man frustrating way to end what look like was going to be another close finish in Kingsport.
My thoughts, the kids battled, especially after the 1st play (again) and responded well. Still obviously there were some mistakes, but seems to be a decent amount of crow to be had in this thread. GVille has a dang good football team and I think our Indians are pretty dang good as well, just inexperienced. Also think about this last night we were down our starting safety and one of our starting WRs.  Love that we scheduled some tough non region teams. These past two games will go a whole lot farther for us than playing TN High and Volunteer week 1 and 2 like the past couple years.

    Great point on scheduling!!!

Let’s get it started. Going to be a rowdy one out by the airport this week.
personally I don’t think it’s going to be close. I know some think WR is better, but I’ll have to be proven wrong.

The Wolves are better than last year. Are they good enough to knock off the Indians? No.

You guys put up 40 last week, we dropped a goose-egg.      How do you see this week's matchup shaking out?       Boone has a good offense in between the 20's.      Defense has their moments but very poor tackling on several critical plays.            Hate to say it but until Boone can show they can score I'm going West Ridge 14-0.     Does your wolf mascot travel to away games?    Sure hope so, I enjoyed seeing him last year at your place

I certainly don't want to hijack DB's thread but to answer your question. Volunteer is NOT Boone. It was the first game and I truly don't know what to think. There were mistakes and missed assignments but I suspect most every fan saw "rust" with there team in terms of tackling etc. and each team should improve this week. The Wolves are better than last year. I just have my doubts. Hope I'm wrong. I will say Boone 21-12 just to throw a score out there. Not sure if the Wolf travels. I'm not very helpful with information am I? LOL. Hope for an injury free game!

Farragut 100% had the size advantage. Line definitely weak. Especially OLine. I think Farragut is gonna be better than expected. They have too many D-1 athletes regardless of sport. DB will smack the area around besides Science Hill as nobody ever knows what will happen in that game. Maybe West Ridge will compete better in 6A this year but you never know.

West Ridge might be better this year than last year, however I do not see a win over the Indians or SH.

I was not at the scrimmage but Tom Taylor said when the first teams we’re playing Betsy one 28-7.He said Betsy big sophomore running back had two scores and we throw two touchdown passes.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like it could be another long year for the Wolves although it is a scrimmage. Being just about the only West Ridge fan on here, info is hard to come by. Good luck to the Cyclones this year!
