  1. Tim McClendon will play, because LFO, the school he has lied about and trashed, has too much class to tell the truth to the TSSAA.

In addition to all the other whoppers that have been told by the kid, his mother, his "mentor" and his coach, is the one about him participating for only 2 days in spring practice.

Everyone at LFO (and their opponents) knows this isn't true. Spring practice lasts two weeks. He was perfectly healthy, and participated every day, all the way through the game. He told TSSAA he was only there 2 days, magically under the 3 day limit. Good rehearsals, Signal legal team! So I guess this healthy, full-time enrolled student showed up at practice the day before the game. I guess Coach Windham said, "Welcome Tim, good to see you. Sorry you missed the first 8 days, but go ahead, practice today, and you'll start tomorrow ahead of the guys who've been here for a week and a half." Yeah, I guess that's what happened.

But LFO, knowing that Signal's fans would probably retaliate by destroying their school's property in the middle of the night, is quiet. Despite being hammered in the media as a bad school that mistreated poor lil' Tim, LFO will silently refuse to respond to TSSAA, and the lyin' Signal football program will be intact on Friday night. All in the name of academics, honesty and good sportsmanship of course.

    Go Illeagles!

Blah, blah, blah, blah!!! Go take some midol lady. :thumb:

  2. I do not have a dog in this fight so I am not going to bash Signal Mtn. people or anyone else. I do not know who turned them in but if someone on the Board of Directors heard rumors should they not investigate? They have a process and they did what the membership pays them to do, they investigated. Where there is smoke there is fire. For all the Sequatchie County bashers out there, would it not be reasons enough out there to say that more teams had a lot to gain if SM was out? What about LFO? They lost two outstanding players, one to SM and one to South Pittsburg. Would it bother you as a coach if this was happening to your program? What about other high schools in Hamilton County, Brainerd and Howard? What about Cleveland? They knew they could not get the kid eligible without taking a risk. That is to name just a few.

My question to the TSSAA is where does this go next? You know it is other kids out there that are doing the same thing. I would foresee in the future that the rules better be clarified in this manner. Sooner or later there has to be a huge lawsuit since we are talking huge money for the school, lost reputation for coaches and administrators, and kids that are cought in the middle that did nothing wrong.

    Nice post.

Understand need to investigate, do not understand delay in notification. At hearing attorney basically said they were busy, they had more pressing matters. The wiping out of any team's playoffs, (much less a highly ranked team that won state) is certainly worth a 2 minute phone call.

    Horse Hockey!

  3. Yes, knowingly and defiantly play an ineligible player and see if you get to have a season at all next year.

Your gossiping skills rival those of a middle school girl with a new facemess page. If young Tim plays it will be because Mr. BernieMac said he could. Now look at this mess you've started, you've gotten the little girlies all upset!

  4. Before the season started, or shortly there after, I vowed not to take shots at your program anymore. You were out of our class, so all the disagreements between us was water under the bridge. In that post, I told you all that you had questionable at best leadership, and that ignorance/arrogance it would end up costing you someday. I also said that I hoped for a few players sake, Patton and Queen specifically, that that "someday" wouldn't happen this year. Well...that someday is upon us. Hate to say I told you so, but......

I appreciate your comment Seven. I have to say that I go back many years (45+) with our leadership. He truly was an inspiration and motivator for my son over the last few years. I would not want to go back and make any changes because he builds character, integrity, and leadership qualities that will last a lifetime. For all those people that don't truly know the man its a shame. But such is life and will move on better for it. :thumb:

  5. He's probably talking about Barger. So funny <_< These folks have their minds made up Sequatchie was involved so there's no sense in making any effort to convince them otherwise. And this is the same expert who picked Seq to score 14 vs Whitwell a couple of weeks back, gives a good idea of his expertise. Only 50 points off.

These folks? Don't know if Squatchy had anything to do with it or not...don't care. Focus should be on these boys enjoying their last week of practice together and playing their last game with a lot of class and however many points it takes to get the W

  6. I just want to say thank you to the TSSAA for finally trying to put a stop to this whole situation!! I think i speak for many people who realize that this isn't the first student-athlete that should not have been going to Signal Mountain when i say this is what you get Signal for stealing everyone's players. I wish someone had looked into Donnie Garner's real address last season and this may have been prevented sooner!!!!

Donnie lived on the mountain, asked and answered a hundred times... :bored:

  7. I agree 100%! It really doesn't matter at this point if SM wins or loses the appeal. The bar has been set. No one will ever look at that school the same again. Remember the OJ case, he was proven innocent but in the public eye he was no doubt guilty as charged! Just because some technicality gets you off the hook doesn't mean that it was right. Dirty politics and back door deals to get athelets elligible to play sports needs to be gotten under control. I would be willing to bet that there isn't one person, that isn't a SM fan, could look at the facts of this case and not see foul play. And the "scared of the other students" excuse is absolutely absurd. Whatever the decision, just remember SM, that the leaders of your school made this bed so the fan base will just have to sleep in it!!

I'll sleep fine at night idiot!

  8. Another howler of a column in the Sunday Chattanooga paper. Some Signal Mtn mom again spins the tale of how the ineligible player was trying to flee the dangerous hallways of Lakeview Ft Oglethorpe GA (lie # 1), so he reaches out to his mentor, the well-traveled Coach Shane Roberson to help him get a better education (lie # 2), and all Signal is really trying to do is save this defenseless young man from "all the rough schools off the mountain" (lie # 3).

Ah, the noble parents of Signal Mountain. Now that the word is out, the Hamilton County central office is bracing for hundreds of Signal residents who will attempt to gain hardships for even more out-of-zone Brainerd youths to attend Signal. Whether they can play sports or not. Because, obviously, that's their mission. Thank you Coach Shane Roberson, for tearing down that wall.

  9. Payback will come in the most embarrasing way for Dumblap in two weeks. We are about to hang at least 80 on these clowns for what theyve done to us. Just wait, youll see.

Waterboy, with supporters like you who needs enemies. You are not helping this situation. It's great that you love the Eagles, but you need to tone it down. Birdie has spoken

  10. either you haven't seen them all, or you have trouble counting birdie....

Have a son on the team, have attended EVERY game, And I mean EVERY game from the very beginning, you are just riding a hate train to nowhere buddy. I imagine the reason Troll and other reasonable Signal posters have stopped posting is that this thread has escalated to a new level of bull s#\t that is intolerable. You should all take a step back and check yourselves...this has gotten way out of line.

  11. I watched a game at Signal Mtn, in the first half the eagles had 5 or 6 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, i never saw one memebr of the coaching staff say one word to the players who were being unsportsmanlike.....nothing surprises me....i have heard that there are a couple schools who will never play the eagles in any sport.....never heard that about another hamilton county school.....can't believe the coaching staff knew nothing about some players have an adult beverage in the week leading up to the game.....boys will be boys, BUT i just did not believe the coach when he said he did not know about it until after the state championship game....

the town and the school are top notch....a true community full of good people....they need the same thing in the coaching staff's character....it really is not all about winning

Funny...I've been @ every game, don't remember that one.

  12. Here is what I think... I would be willing to bet that the kid isn't exactly vanderbilt or Harvard material grade wise so the academic bull crap is a mute point to me. If he was zoned for brainerd he should have went to brainerd. If be was zoned for Howard he should have went to Howard. End of story. Cry on signal mountain... Cry on.... I love to hear the excuses. And deep down I really hope somehow you make the playoffs so you will get drilled by the green devils and I can hear a multitude of new excuses from the mtn.

I hope we play them in the first round! :thumb:

  13. Oh. I completely understand that he was granted a hardship by the HCDE to attend SMMHS as part of NCLB rules for failing/passing schools. What I don't see is how you think that makes him automatically elegible to play a sport. NCLB and TSSAA are not connected. If the administration at SMMHS had applied to TSSAA for a hardship, it would most likely have been granted and all would be well. School zones are established by the BOE and are not changed on an individual student basis. The hardship is merely permission to attend a school outside of a student's zone. The zone didn't change and I'd bet you any ammount of money that you want to wager that the hardship application submitted by the parents to the HCDE did not include any mention of football or athletic competition. They wanted a better educational opportunity for their son.

Do you realize how many very good athletes live in the zone of failing schools across the state? If a BOE hardship is all that it takes to make a kid eligible for athletic competition.. wow!!!

Football can open educational opportunities after high school that are otherwise unavailable, often football and education go hand in hand.

  14. this is from LIKEAROCK Thats just it! There is NO issue with the players that live on the mountain. Every time the coach brings in a ringer, a kid that lives on the mountain sits on the bench. THIS IS THE BEAVER. there is a is alot of disapointment for kids that live on the mnt that play. ifeel sorry for them. i am guessing the school dresses about 60 kids or better. all the families should be upset. SM has enough good athletes already in place without pulling people out of zone.how many of those who dress actual hit the feild and the coaches are using out of of zone players.the families at SM should be asking for answers from the coaches and adminstration. my fustration is that some people want to justify recurting out of zone players.

Have been close to this program from day one and have NEVER heard any frustration about out of zone kids. This is a true team of brothers that exemplifies what unselfishness looks like. You may not know what that looks like, but I see it in action everyday, very proud of ALL these boys. Had to be said, now y'all can commence with the crap... :thumb:

  15. Quit crying " THE MIGHTY DO NO WRONG SM EAGLES " Cheated and got caught now they need to man up and pay for it !! but no as expected they do the C------ S--- thing and appeal !! Speaks volumes about the true color of the MIGHTY DO NO WRONG SM EAGLES.

Your post speaks volumes about your true colors! :thumb:
