  1. I agree with you Greenman. It is up to these guys to get respect and the up coming years to keep it and build on it.
  2. 1.Friday Night Lights 2.Remember the Titans 3.The Natural 4.Hardball 5.Field of Dreams 6.The Sandlot 7.Happy Gilmore...... 8.Rudy 9.Any Given Sunday
  3. I notice 3 of the teams you pick are from the west. I can't dispute them because I don't know much about any other region but I hope Mt.Pleasant finishes up the season higher than 5th. I hear alot about Trousdale Co. but I haven't seen them play. I feel region 6 will contribute to the playoff picture. Where is Coalfield from?
  4. I agree Orange. I hate to think about playing those guys in the playoffs. It will be very tough to beat them again.
  5. The 60K was only to determine what someones idea of rich was. 60K where I come from is a darn good living. Someone else may think 120K is broke. And private schools aren't the only ones that recruit, Lewis County comes to mind in the public ranks, I know of at least 4 players they have recruited from MP over the last 3 - 4 yrs. Also the amount of money you make determines how much individulized training your player can afford. Individulized training makes a good player better. Their technique is better and their understanding of the game is better. Enough beating a dead horse. Good luck to Ezell they played a heck of a game. As I said in my first post.
  6. Fumbles cost Huntland a chance at winning the game much like they did in the Ezell game for Mt.Pleasant. The MP QB got his passing game going and opened up just enough room for the run game. Give him another week or so an MP will be in position to win any game they play. I'm just saying they will have the opportunity I'm not predicting any scores. We still have tough games against very tough opponents and I'm glad this one is behind us.
  7. Depends on what you think rich is. Bet you make more than 60k per yr. and I bet your son went to some football camps that you or the school paid for. I will also bet that there are at least 10 kids on the football team that were recruited. The multiplier is there for a reason.
  8. The kid just hasn't learned about being politically correct yet. Many of you are trying to turn his words around just to start something. Midtnqb12 post all you want and don't let these guys bother you. Bottomline I think you are wrong about the linemen in Mt.P, WC etc running a sub 5 forty. MP may have one but he is small, in the 5-10 210 lb range.
  9. There is a reason for that rule. BA and others kinda stuck it to all private schools.
  10. I agree with you Catfish, but I hope it is close. I think Waverly has a pretty good team but I think Richland is just to powerful. We have either scrimmaged or played them the last few years in Middle School and they are a handful. Good luck to both teams.
  11. I agree Bottomline. Coach Smith didn't loose the game, fumbles did. Plus Ezell had 4 weeks or more to prepare for us. We were their first game. We had about 2 and 1/2 days of practice with the rain outs. MP fans need to chill. We have a QB that is a senior but has played behind a 3 yr starter and has seen limited playing time. He WILL get his passing game together and our offense will start clicking. It's not bad without the passing until we start fumbling, but as you saw against GC he runs a pretty good option. I think the fans need to get it together and start getting behind the players a little more. Believe it or not it gives them confidence which is what they need more than anything right now. Get your good attitude on or don't come to the game. You should learn to cheer when we are up or down. And most of all remember anyone can sit in the stands and call a better game than the people on the field, because the fans in the stands have seen all the work put in during the week and know all the players stengths and weeknesses. So what we should do is start paying the fans to tell the coaches what to do. Yeah Right! Have faith. There is a plan.
  12. We saw, or I should say heard, classless on Friday night. The Ezell anouncer was classless. The worst sportsmanship from a press box that I have ever heard. He needed to leave the analogies to the people in the stands. He should have been there to report down and yardage instead he tried to be a cheerleader. If no one from Mt.Pleasant gave him a good cussing I would be surprised. If they did then we fell to his level and I will agree with you that we are classless but in this case I will agree with you. And by the way looks like we won't go 10 - 0 but I never figured we would. I'm thinking more like 8 - 2. We have gotten some good experience but need more at the QB position and a couple of line positions. Once our QB gains some confidence in his throwing arm, I'm giving him another game or two, he will be a deadly threat to run or throw.
  13. Sounds like C wood has there team where they need to be. Keep up the good work, see ya Sept. 30. Any idea why we are playing down there again this year? When do you and Wayne Co collide?
  14. Was the game as close as it appears by the score?
  15. Thanks for keeping those of us who are at work updated!
  16. We may not be a powerhouse but we are establishing our selves as a winning program. We are even doing this without kids rich enough to go to football camps and special position camps, AND we are doing it without recruting. I take nothing away from E.H. they were the dominant team and there hard preseason work was obvious. But it is also obvious why the TSSAA saw fit to place them in AA.
