I know that USJ can't help who they play, but I believe you could take a local Little League team to play Memphis Mitchell in baseball and it would be a competitive game. Now if we are talking football or basketball it would be a different story. There was not an easier route than the route USJ had to get to the state tournament... Check it and try arguing with me.... USJ is a very good team, and will compete for a title, but come on, there has got to be a way to make it more challenging for a state tournament bid......

I've been watching Henry County baseball for a while, and I have noticed this assistant coach doing an excellent job for them..... I believe that he is ready to take over the reigns for a good program.... Can anyone give me some more info. on this guy...

Drew Hayes from Mckenzie is one of the best Pitchers and all-around baseball players in west tenn. byfar. His fastball averages around the mid 90's, and has 5 or 6 other pitches to go along with that.

Drew Hayes is an excellent pitcher but tell me how the catcher signals that sixth pitch....just wondering?

it is not a blind draw,,,,,why would you eliminate a bolivar or mitchell to play a goodpasture, which is a below average team,,,,,,there needs to be some kind of seeding,,,,,,,,,,

It makes no sense to eliminate either Mitchell or Bolivar to face a team such as Knoxville Catholic or Goodpasture. Something has to change. Either Catholic or Goodpasture are about to experience something Friday that they will never forget. Maybe the talent in Middle and East TN will improve in AAA, because it is brutal right now. P-I-T-I-F-U-L

Personally I think tssaa should quit looking at enrolment numbers and start lookink at average heights of players. Look at schools in 5aa and compare their size with other schools in AA and they dont compare. Watch what happens to the number 1 team in the state when they plal their second round game if they get to. Some schools have better size and athletes due to geographic location. Does anyone disagree that schools in Memphis have better athletes than schools in Englewood , Sequoyah, Polk, Tellico etc. and wonder why?

Gibson County Best Backfield Around??? maybe, the duo of Jon Roberts and Antone Cunningham was massive. Who stopped Jon from runnin a 3@2 dive for a 8 yard gain abliterating a linebacker and a safety before he trips over a lifeless body? Who caught Antone around the end when he broke off from massive 73 Ward's backside? NOBODY!!!! There were 60 - 80 yard runs off of that mammoth. To catch Antone was to say you caught LaDanian Tomlinson and not many can say that. Mark Hauke's 20 + average on 30 or so catches do you call that all running game? Don't think so.

i disagree just because a team losses doesnt me they dont have one of the best running games...gibson county's antone cunningham had a great sophomore year and gibson went 4-6 doesnt mean antone isnt one of the best

That is all that they had......Yeah i could line someone up and hand the ball to them every time, and yes they would accumulate a whole lot of yards like Cunningham did.... Great year, not taking anything away from him.....But don't tell me one of the best backfields is going to get beat first round in the playoffs to FA.... How many yards did the Gibson County quarterback account for....Not many.....Their game was Cunningham,,, and like I said if that is your game,,,, yes you are going to rack up some yards,,,,,, I'm sorry, but don't tell me that Lake County or Gibson County has one of the best backfields around.....

What you say is true. But there are some very talented kids out there that are not given the chance to showcase their talents. Why would you play someone that constantly makes mistakes and mot correct them. These kids will be in shock when and if they make it in college were you are either a player or you get left behind. Show our kids the they can play on a college level someday. But teaching them that they need to earn a spot don't give it to them.

This topic shouldn't even be discussed..... The only reason that this topic is on here is because some parent is mad because their son is not playing because he does not have the talent right now that he needs to be stepping on the field, and they think that he does.....Give me a break....If you don't have it,,,you don't have it.......Deal with it...... Tell them to work harder,,,,and get bigger, stronger, and faster, and the playing time will come......Let the coach do his job, and you sit and watch....

Lake co. backfield has to be considered one of the best with Springer 1,004 yards and 21TDs, Yancy over 700 yards and 10 TDs,Mays 581 yards and 12 TDs along with Lemonds 500+ yards and 7 TDs. The Falcons average 325 yards a game on the ground which is pretty impressive.

Lake County??? Ha! You guys got handled by Fayette Academy..... Don't mention that backfield ever again..... Just don't do it...... You are humiliating yourself.....A good backfield doesn't get beat by Fayette Academy....I'm sorry dude.... Think of someone like Lexington, Huntingdon, or maybe even Westview, but don't put Lake County in the same breath as these teams from now on out......

This is ridiculous!!!! In my opinion it would be idiotic to play..... First of all you would get hurt really bad, if not killed..... Give me a break..... I would love to see some girl at linebacker and see one of the areas best fullbacks or tailbacks come through and make her quit on the spot after getting the crap knocked out of her.... I don't care who you are, you cannot compete with guys who are benching 300 plus, squating 400 plus and clinging 250 plus..... If you want some, strap on those pads and see how long that you last...... If you are a girl thinking about playing please think twice about it, or don't think at all about it........You will get killed.......I'm out.....

hey bigpun19...i think you were one of those guys who is a neverwas and is mad about not ever playing probably because u didn't give it all u had...in 02 i was on a losing team and i was out for eight weeks with an injury and stood by for 6 games watching my team lose most of those games but i couldn't wait to get in there and play...that winter we worked our butts off so the next year wouldn't be the same we went into the 03 season knowing we could win state we didn't even win the region but i know 9 out of 9 seniors on that team were able to look each other and the rest of the team and coaches in the eye and everybody could tell we gave it all we had and a little more but we still lost to smith co. in the playoffs...so quit bashing players that played harder than you ever could in your mind. i may be wrong about u not ever playing but i don't really care...

Yes, you are wrong about me..... I'm not bashing anyone on here.... All that I am saying is that you should go out during every practice, game, etc. etc. etc. and give it all you got.... It is something that you are suppose to do......If you are not doing that, you should go ahead and turn in the jersey...... I'm just one that feels like it is your duty and your job to go out give it all you have and come back, look in the mirror at yourself and say I did everything that I could and I have no regrets.....This goes for everything in life,,,,not only sports....... Boy he works hard.....You know what,,,,you are suppose to.......Most kids don't know what they have inside themself because they have never really worked as hard as they can,,,,and do not know what they are capable of doing........ That has to be one of the stupidest posts in the history of Coach T! Instead of bashing players and teams, why don't you: a- Find something good to say about a player that gives it everything on every play, or b- Find a hole and crawl in it. Yes, players should do all of the things listed no matter what, but some don't. That's just the way the game works.

Terry Fair played a few seasons with the Detroit Lions,don,t know if he was released or retired,Martin was a backup for the Steelers,this was a couple of years ago.

Group of sophomores beat that team. I was one of them. And it was at Lexington. You lost three times as many games that year as we did last year. You were 7-1 in the district and 35-9 overall. And I recall not losing to Lexington in 4 games last year.

You don't play anyone is what he is trying to tell you.....You have Gleason and Bradford on your schedule...Of course you are going to win playing them......And then your coach is surprised that you lose and strips your jerseys and hats away from you... You are not use to losing and then bam,,,you play someone, get beat, and are surprised.....Good luck though!
