Central is slipping closer and closer to the level of AE.

So what exactly is the level of AE?  I mean good lawd, AE has 1 or 2 bad years and every one in Knox County thinks AE never been a top notch program.  When's the last time Halls beat AE?

Don’t know names but a Grace assistant, a Karns coordinator and a long time Fulton assistant applied too.  Just talked about this today actually.

That Fulton assistant you're talking about should've been at AE but he stayed at Fulton.  His whole family went to AE , he would be good but the question is how long would he be willing to stay at AE?  I wouldn't have a problem with him being head coach

I thought Stanton accepted this job already. Are they waiting for the snow to thaw to announce it?

Man I hope you are correct!  But KCS has been out of school since January 12th, so no announcement has been made yet

If it is the Karns OC, he would be able to get them going in the right direction.

Uh, this OC needs to get Karns going first before you say he can get AE going. IJS

I have heard a few assistants have applied for the Austin-East job. Pait from Carter, headrick, McCash from morristown, st. claire from anderson county, and harb from west. Hoo-ah

There's a lot that's applied for it for sure but the question is are, they qualified for the job?  Can they relate to the kids at AE?  To be honest, you have to deal with so much more than coaching at AE.

I do not smoke anything like that Mr. Turtle. That would be illegal and I do not condone illegal activities. Austin Roadrunners will get a coach, but he will not be able to keep Alcoa Tornado from mercy ruling his Austin Roadrunner team. I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

hahahaha I was being sarcastic sir hahaha but if the new coach is whom I'm hearing than you're in for a rude awaken just remember what I said.

The coach that comes to coach Austin Roadrunners will get mercy ruled next season by Alcoa Tornado. I guarantee you it will happen. Whoever coaches the Austin Roadrunners will not be able to mercy rule many teams for the 2024 season. It will not happen. I guarantee it. Watch and see. Do you want to bet me? I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

Yea, I think I need some of that good stuff you smoking!!!  Puff puff pass my guy!!

i'm not saying he wouldn't be good.  I'm just tired of people acting like they know something when they don't.  It's really weird.  Like they get anonymous message board clout if they guess right?  craziness..

I feel you on this but you know most message boards are like this during the hiring of a new coach.  They're going to mention people until someone is hired.

how do you know who they're hiring and Turtle doesn't?

I'm doing my best to stay out of it but I must say , I would love to see Stevens back at AE!  He had the ship going upward and the community really supported him.   If for some reason he decides to take the Central job, I'll say you all are in good hands.

If that be the case, Knox Co wouldn't let him be both AP and head coach would they? They would have to find other ways to make the numbers work I'd assume.

Why not?  Jody Wright at Fulton is and has been for years but like I said, don't hire Stevens, we'll take him back at AE haha

And btw, if your saying Centrals booster club can’t “match” Austin East’s in terms of cash, you really have no clue :roflol:

Yea, they really don't have a clue if they're saying that. hahaha but shoot we'll take Stevens in a heartbeat if you all don't take him but we're all wondering when CHS will make a hire because wasn't Central job the first one opened this offseason?  You all should've been hired a coach.  It didn't take this long to hire a Basketball coach, what's the hold up?  Oh I got it, its Knox County School's fault hahaha

Talking with a buddy last night who had a lot to do with the last Greenback hire and he was telling me he knows one of the “applicants” and said he hopes he gets it.  Problem is that applicant told him he’s 100% sure he won’t even be considered even though he has one heck of a coaching resume and knows the AD personally.

I think its fair game for all!  I think whomever your friend is should think positive and think he sould and will get a chance to interview.   I think The AD will consider any and everyone .

AE is the only school that “could” compete with Alcoa right now. But it would take them getting a handful of kids from Fulton, central, carter etc.

Actually they don't need anyone they just have to believe in themselves.  Most teams get scared when they see Alcoa across the field from them but AE is one that's willing to put up a fight against them.  Shoot game 1 at AE it was 7-0 Alcoa at the end of the first quarter.  So you can tell AE can compete with them when they want

  15. Now back to the coaching search;  Hearing there's a lot of interest in this job.  Some names you wouldn't believe and some you're like WHO... I'll say we'll hear something by the end of the month.

I don’t blame him. They don’t play a meaningful conference game ever and then they get into the playoffs and it’s the same. Schools that small that don’t recruit at the level of Alcoa have no shot.

Alcoa's dynasty will run out soon.  Let them enjoy it while they can.  No matter what division they play in , AE will always schedule them.  Yes, it's been lopsided here lately but tables about to to turn.  Don't believe me, keep watching.

AE was either in the championship or won it in almost every age group in the knox league they were in. The talent is there always has been and always will be. The issue is they don't make it to the high school. Kids get plucked by the privates and other schools that recruit. What some teams have started doing since AE has been down is scheduling them so they can blow them out then tell the younger groups look at how bad we beat them, come play for us. I don't think anyone could keep all the players, but if someone would keep half of the good ones then they will be competitive against all teams not named Alcoa.

This is true, the little program was in all but 1 championship game (they didn't fill a team in that age group).  They won every age group but 2.  Like you said the talent has been there but SOME of the players leave to go ride the bench elsewhere.  AE will be ok, ITS HARD TO BE A ROADRUNNER!!  Like Phillips used to say, "I'll coach the ones that wants to be Roadrunners!"  Some will stay and some will go but I think the younger generation now (Current Baby Roadrunners) all want to go to AE to bring that winning history back to the school. This same little league program I'm talking about blew Alcoa teams out so like you said once ALcoa start recruiting then maybe they will continue wining 3a football but with the players in their little league program that 21 or 22 streak will be ending real soon.
