I wonder how many total yards Kelly had tonight? How many games this year have the twins thrown and caught a TD? I’m proud of the fight and level of play that our defense has played with all year. Our offense started strong then sputtered then has come along the last half of the season. I’m proud of the whole team!! Keep it up!!

Well I’m proud of the Jasper kids that played hard all season. I hope we aren’t losing anyone to you. I can’t think of anyone we’ve gotten in the past year or two from Jasper. But anyways, should be a really good basketball season for this bunch. I’m sure to all the fans and the community this loss must feel like a major let down. It will be considered a disappointment in most eyes since we all thought this would be the year, and we all preached as if it would be. I just hate it for the kids. It’s okay. Stand tall. Keep you head up. Disappointing, but still a great season.

I told you Dae Dae would be the playmaker this game. Honestly we just need to run the ball the rest of the game, or throw quick passes. We aren’t holding long blocks well. Glad to see my cuz getting playing time. Proud of him as a sophomore who will most likely be starting on the line next two years

Ummm….where’s the fans?? 10mins till game time!!

Clay County has a dream schedule next season that gives them every opportunity to compete in December for a gold ball. Gordonsville and Jo Byrns are both at home (Last time Gordonsville played in Celina it was a 35-6 route in 2019. Jo Byrns last lost in Celina 48-7). Assuming the Bulldogs win both of those, the first, second, quarterfinal, and semifinal rounds would all be at home as long as they keep winning.
How many seniors does Clay have that actually play?

JB scored on the first drive last game to make it 6-0 so i would say it’s quite possible
It is a very different Gordonsville team. I believe our o-line is our weakest unit which is unusual. However this is the best passing attack we’ve had maybe ever. Defense plays hard and is well coached. This team does not have a beat you down style, but I will say if we get to play next week we will be in it until the endOne thing your line is though is they are disciplined and they move as a unit. That’s a huge upside.

This is a good question. If you plugged in a few offensive linemen from last year, would you say the Pirates are the favorites for the East? Nobody is beating the West side but strictly the East. Think about it, skill players are back, QB can throw and run, D line is solid, and I think we have a secondary that matches up well with Gordonsville and Clay. Everyone has kind of wrote off this team because of the O line woes when in reality that’s the one missing piece. A huge piece, but SP is still a threat in a watered down division.
If not for injuries I think this years guys do just fine. If had two TE’s hear it would be:
TE - Starkey
T - Tyler or Garmin
G - Huntley
C - Lewis
G - Slatton or little Garmin
T - Davis
TE - Peacock
Thats a really good line IMO. Each of those players have gotten better every week.

Clay County is a good football team and if your bunch will get beat if they are not respecting the Bulldogs!
Nah, the team hasn’t done that all year long. They have in the past but this years team has been through some adversity unlike before and it has made them more humble. That was just my opinion only.

I’ve watched the Gordy and Clay game multiple times now and for some reason Gordy just didn’t look like Gordy in that game. Maybe it’s just me. Maybe CC has improved but I don’t see that much either. With that said, don’t be surprised if JB goes up 7-0 quickly in the first quarter. I’ve been wrong before though so don’t count on me lol. Good luck to both teams.

Hopefully they aren’t that dumb and are playing the best players.
I’m sure they are playing the best players. Just so many injuries on the line we’ve had to mix things up. Just need to get them ALL involved during the playoffs.

This is going to be a very tough game. SP skill positions and defensive line are what got us as far as we have. The offensive line, well to be nice, there just not that good. Our backs athletic ability is really all we have to hope for that they can somehow make a play. I can see this as a one score game . Either way.
Man I wish we had the Tyler kid, Slatton has been most improved on the line but I seen him with a knee brace on last night. Little Roho has improved. What about bigger Roho, when is he back? I like the fight that little Ronto has in him, Id put him on the line. Not being biased but I also think the Allison boy should play more on offense. He’s got good size. I know he’s missed a lot of learning being out so much but just try it for a play or two then sub out. The Lewis boy has improved greatly as well at center. Then there’s Starkey and Peacock. Sub them all on offense. That’s what we will need to do in the playoffs.
Basically what I’m saying is is we were completely healthy on the line I think we would be just fine.

Well it’s been fun even those years of banter between us for the championship game. Enjoy being retired from the T. However, I bet come next season you will be back, at least reading. Good luck buddy!

Prayers buddy.

Who was our RB that season? I don’t remember any dynamic players on that team. We did have some hard nosed kids though. That SP Basin game was the famous cheeseburger gate game. lol
Not Tristan Blevins. You got the names right but two different people. Chase Blevins and Tristan Adams. Kennemore was a freshman and started at safety. We had some talent but didn’t have a good enough coach for them, obviously from the fact that the very next year several of those same guys turned a complete 180 with Grider’s 2nd stint as coach.
-
I’m thinking Simpson wins it in 2A. In 1A as much as I want to say Taylor I’m thinking Ganaway gets it this year and then Taylor next year if he has another great season.
From a homer standpoint though I hope Kelly gets it in 1A. He may not have the best stats but we spread the ball around a lot. He has the talent, the grades, and the leadership abilities.

Dude you have made your thoughts known. If gordonsville is as bad as you KEEP saying, there are several teams that need to fire coaches, cooks, bus drivers, etc. at their schools. I am not going to talk about a certain school’s showing to illustrate that you do not seem to know what you are talking about. I don’t think the knowledgeable posters from SP would agree that Gordonsville is as bad as you say. Get some rest, as it seems delirium has kicked your butt, today.
Commander is a bit more knowledgeable about the game and scouting teams than you think. BUT, I do have to agree with you on the fact that surely Gordy is not “that” bad. They’ve been my team to beat all year. Maybe they just laid off the gas in this game.

But I will say Gordonsville isn’t the team y’all think they are, and I will stand by that.
How you mean?

If that makes you feel good. A lot depends on who is at qb. I have said we are on upset alert. Yalls defense is pretty good and our offense is pretty basic. No secret to what we are gonna do. Will we be handicapped again? One thing about it though, nothing like getting punched directly in the teeth to be able to tell what you are made of. I suppose maybe last week was the wake up call that complacency brings sometimes. I imagine our kids will respond positively though and the coaches have had time to make some adjustments that are needed.
I think your coaching staff will have them ready. Sam Pickett may get his chance to shine from the start in this game. Which RB would be the QB?
