  1. You may be correct. Riverdale might have knocked them out one of those years. Besides Riverdale none would have stopped Maryville. Not DB. Not Oak Ridge. (Honestly, Riverdale or DB would have been better to play last years 5A game than Oak Ridge.)And surely none this side of Viagra Beach, FL thinks Oak Ridge will reach the championship game in '06.

Maryville would win the 5A championship this year just as they would have last year. And if Oak Ridge couldn't get there but once or twice in 25 years hows it going to be easier having to play Maryville? Hurry Oak Ridge. Win one before Maryville goes 5A.

...thats interesting smart mouth...if db , and riverdale would have been a better choice than OR in the Championship game, then how how OR got into the title...HERES A REMINDER DB LOST IN THE FIRST ROUND AND RIVERDALE GOT THEY BUTTS HANDED TO THEM BY OR. WHY U SO SURE THAT MARYVILLE WILL DOMINATE IN 5A WHEN THEY HARDLY PLAY REAL 5A COMPETITION BESIDES WB, HERITAGE DOESNT COUNT AS THEY SHOULD BE A 1A SCHOOL

  2. Ole dad glad to see you admit it aint 3.One in the last 24 is quite a die/nasty.Too bad if's dont count.1 in 25 will be here soon enuff.Zip in the last 15.

lets see clinton has how many state titles in its entire school history....none so shut up dopie

  3. Yep.....that game was the game of the year last year...unitl it was played and Maryville stomped a powerful D 1 player laden Alcoa. I believe that was the same Alcoa team that beat 5 A Oak Ridge by one score in a scrimmage..... :P

My guess is Oak Ridge will go to 4A the same year Maryville moves to 5A. People are exiting that dump as quickly as possible. Not a big deal for Maryville since virtually every year they line up across from the WIldcats the stomp them into a mud hole and then walk it dry.

Maybe.....just maybe if Oak Ridge does drop down to 4A and avoids Maryville they can back their way into a state championship, otherwise their run is over and done with a Maryville on their schedule.

Maybe Clinton will keep on playing Oak Ridge so they can run the score up on somebody and make them feel good...... ;)

Botttom line is Oak Ridge has lost their tallent pool and they are not going to win anything in 5 A with a 3 A coach and a 3 A offense. Watch how this year turns out.

Sorry Ole dad but the truth is just that. 2009 will be here before you know it so you better put the pressure on Stanton. :P

the games that Maryville play against OR are SCRIMMAGES. thoses arent actuall games..its chances for the coaches to see what schemes and personnel works

  4. 1st:farragut stick to baseball, and soccer because those are the only two sports it seems like that the admirals can beat the wildcats.

2nd: Clinton just drop your football. they havent had a winning season in like nearly 10 years.

3rd:Maryville please find that "missing student" and move on up so that OR can shut your mouth up the hard way

  5. whaddup whaddup everybody. once again the clowns have come out of their closets to bash coach gray....i dont see why that ya'll are bashing wait let me guess is it because he makes a living by doing what he loves to do while all you others just sit on the d*** couch. seriously i dont think any of the gray bashers have a real conversion wit the man...he is a great teacher on the football field and in the classroom but you guys apparently dont see it that way.... he was developed numerous all-state players when he was at OR such as Nick Dongarra, Adrian Porter,Greg Woofter,Corey Booker, James Booker,TC,Gulmire, etc. He also cares about all of the players on the team case in point several years ago i was tired of playing football and quit on the team. Coach Gray (and TC, thanks for also helpin me realize that i missed playin, your my brother for life)) knew that i loved to play and convinced me 2 rejoin the team @ OR and i had a blast my senior year in football (2003-2004). Look the Coach Gray deserves this job and when he gets it, all you haters gonna eat crow.LOTS OF IT

  6. sorry guys but the region title stays in OR. yeah they lose spencer at TB, Daniel Johnson and leonard blair at fb, 3 offensive linemen, and must replace their entire d-line.. but OR should still do well especially with Conner Gulmire back at QB , with OR's new deep threat in Alonzo Douglas. Troy Venable returns at LB along with Paul Bingham at CB and gulmire at safety. plus they will get some new blood players like rapheal coffey (revel's younger brother) next year. As people say about us in OR, we dont REBUILD, instead we just RELOAD.

  7. brandon100 do have something against OR all of your posts have been nothing but complete disrespect toward our program. u say that we aint a dynasty. dynasty is defined by winning titles over the years. OR has won titles in every decade from 1940's onward. what other schools do u know have done that.congradulations to ravenwood. OR seniors keep your heads up u came lot farther then all the other OR teams since 1991.

  8. For all of you,

Never said a discouraging word about Lussier, although I am curious if any of you know his opinion of Gray at the end of his coaching tenure? I have heard rumors, but would like for the "experts" to weigh in. I believe that Lussier is both a fine man and an excellent coach. I would agree that he and Stanton talked, but Stanton is his own man, as are the other coaches, and they decided who would play where. I would also agree that he is happy for the current Oak Ridge team. I don't think that Gray is happy for this team or the coaches, only bitter.

Again, Gray could post huge numbers against many weaker teams, but Oak Ridge did not get a lot better from the start of the year through the end of the year, nor did they do a lot of different things from year to year.

As Nick Orlando pointed out, Oak Ridge became a Wing-T team and stayed with it regardless of personnel. Out of curiousity, did Bearden run the Wing-T this year?

You can make all your assertions about all the talent on this team to try to take away from the job th e coaches did this year, but I would say there was just as much or more talent in 2003 (remember Gulmire and Booker were both there). Also, for all you people that love pointing out all the stats compiled by Gray's players, McMahon, the all-time passing leader, was there. Oak Ridge did not score well against a young Murfreesboro team that most people correctly considered being a year away from being dominant.

There was some new blood on the offensive coaching side in 2004 that I believe had a positive effect on the gameplan for Riverdale. Compare the playcalling between the Riverdale games in 2003 and 2004, or any game prior to 2004, before you just dismiss this.

By the way, I have had one on one conversations with Gray, although it has been awhile. I have also had one on one conversations with other coaches. I will in fact tell you that Coach Stevens had a good laugh out of the thought of Gray and Lussier picking his starters.

Now, three questions to all you Gray supporters. First, are you just bitter that he didn't get the head job? Second, if Gray was still going to be the offensive coordinator at Oak Ridge why would he go to Bearden for the same position? I would love to hear how this can be considered a positive career move. Finally, what is Coach Stevens and his staff going to have to do to make you realize that they have put their mark on this year's team?

I honestly believe that most of you are not willing to give this staff any of the credit, but are more than ready to put blame on them should things not go well. Bottom line is this team is in the State Championship, despite all the controversy and upheaval surrounding the coaching change, despite putting in a new offensive and defensive system, despite having a first year quarterback that missed spring practice because of injury and wasn't chosen (no matter what some of you might believe) to be the starter until a few weeks before the season began. As I said to start the post, CONGRATULATIONS COACHES! Let's finish the deal!

rapid if u look closely at OR's schedule this year and their schedule of the past few years u would notice that they played most of the same teams.DB check,Soddy Daisy check, McMinn county check,Ooltewah check. and your tatement about gray not changing the offense is a bunch of crap as u would have noticed that OR has shifted out of teh classic wingt to other formations the last few years. As others have been saying about u, get your facts straightened out before u post about certain things

  9. Rabid, the question posed to you was a simple question that could be answered with a simple yes or no. Your answer is typical politician. The plain truth is that the answer is yes.

nah why cant rabid just be man enough and come out and say the truth. like i said before i dont think u ever had a one on one conversation with Coach Gray, not only that i dont think that u have ever played a down of football in your life. i am a new blood wildcat player/fan like many of these new posters on here but i share the same views of the older cats.

now back to the topic i hope OR brings title #9 back to the ridge

  10. I can agree with that...best WR I saw all year. Being a Riverdale fan I love our main recievers, Antwaun Smith, Phillip Stevenson, and Shane Rollins but Revel Coffey was on a whole nother level in my mind and he showed us that during the Riverdale vs. OR game the other night. IMO he was the star of the night or his QB Connor Gulmire because he made great passes to others besides Revel also. I had said earlier I believe Spencer Gulmire was a great player but it was Connor and Revel IMO who were MVP's for the 'cats (in the R'dale game) and won that game for the most part.

maybe UT should recruit Revel cause lord knows that they need some playmakers for that lackluster offense that they had this year

  11. i personally believe that spencer gulmire should have won tis award. i mean he runs wild twice against a farragut defense that was being lead by a Mr. Football finalist in Nick Reviez and brought his A game against a Riverdale defense led by Mr.Football Finalist Tamar Butler.bottom line is, and not taking anything away from gm, spencer should have won this award.
