  1. I'll be heading up to Knoxville Friday for this game. I'm really hoping we can keep it close and have a chance to shock everybody. There's nothing but respect from Polk Co. towards CAK. I've never been to CAK so it should be a great experience. Go Polk!!

  2. Yep, no excuses. The team got whipped. Period. Congrats to the Pirates and good luck on getting another golden ball. I hope Coach Davis gets his team together and play with pride and physicality that we're known for. Tonight was pathetic honestly. Time to get back to work and see how mentally tough we really are. Good luck SP.

  3. I just love how everybody forgets the Loudon Redskins in these polls but at the end of the season we are always playing Alcoa in the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs. You would think some of these folks would remember us.

Yes, Loudon should be in the top 10. They always have a good, hard nosed team that makes a run every year it seems.

  4. Is Coach Davis from the same mold as his dad, Larry?

Coach D.Davis is very much like his father. Having the pleasure to play under them both, I can tell you they both demand effort and hard work. One of their big quotes is "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work."

You don't have to be the most talented to play on Friday, but you will be laying it all on the line every play.

  5. First of all, I want to congratulate Loudon on the win. They were a good bit bigger on the line and that's what won the game. Both teams had big plays here and there, but in the end Loudon was more physical and was able to run the ball very well. They will give Alcoa a game next week if they play like they did tonight.

Secondly, I want to say how proud I am of this Wildcat team. They had our first undefeated regular season and made it past the first round of playoffs. I know the seniors on this team, and a big thanks to them for giving their all this season. :roflol:

  6. To my Polk Co. friends: I like your attitude pertaining to Alcoa, and I'm sure the players and coaches aren't afraid of playing Alcoa either. But, until you actually see Alcoa play, you can't appreciate just how good they are. They're in an entirely different league than ANY team you've seen this year, or in several years. But to get to next week, Polk must first take are of business and concentrate on beating Loudon. I believe Polk will be focused and will prevail tonight by a minimum of 14 points, probably more. I wish the Wildcats much success.

I have seen them play twice buc, and they left a tread mark on your baby blue just like we did!! :roflol: Just cause central couldnt compete with them doesnt mean Polk or Loudon can't or won't. Loudon stuck with them as well as anyone has this season. Bad news buc, the measuring stick for how good a team is in our district no longer wears blue.

It should be a head knocker tonight!!!!! Go Wildcats!!!! :roflol:

I hate to agree with the doc but i'm faced with no other choice. Blitznbuc cant face the fact that we arent a football power. polk didn't care how good we were supposed to be, or south pittsburg and im sure they dont care how good loudon is supposed to be or how good alcoa is supposed to be. having seen the cats play a couple times and talking to polk fans, i think polk's greatest strength is their focus and preparation. That with the combination of some very underated athletes make polk dangerous to ANY opponent. God i cant believe im takin up for the wildcats!! Nonetheless good luck tonight polk. I hope you guys win and get to go to Alcoa.

That is Polk Co. football and what Coach Davis has instilled into the program and players. Being a player before for Coach Davis, They don't care how good the opposing team is; they prepare very well on what the opposition does and comes out ready to play with their heart and lay it all on the line with the game plan at hand.

Anyway, tonight will be an epic battle of two very respected programs who are coached great. I was wrong on the turnout last week, but this week I'm sure the stadium will be packed. :roflol:

  7. It's sad for our quad to be so loaded with good teams, and them having to play each other early rather than in the semi's or even the championship game, but that's just the way it goes I guess. All you can do is just put your nose to the grind-stone and play hard to win. Good luck to both teams injury wise; hope the Wildcats come out and play hard the way they have all year :roflol::hungry:

  8. WOW. 17 pts or more.............. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, I would think it would be closer than that, but oh well, its only opinions right?

I guess we will see on Friday night....... I hope the football team is looking forward to Alcoa or CAK as much as the fans are.

Sorry, but that's not the case. Just like it was said earlier, Polk has scrimmaged Loudon this year and respects them. Just because we have some overly-confident fans, doesn't mean that's how the team thinks. I can tell you it will be closer than 17 points. Anybody that knows football should know it will be a close game.

  9. I know this may be a little off subject but this is something that needs to be said and needs to relished. I have been a follower of high school football for many many years. Watched crowds of tens of thousands in Texas and seen the fire that made my heart ache and knees shake form the earth trembling noise the crowd makes. I loved watching my nephews go through the White House football program many years ago and felt the adrenaline boil from the BDP fans. I have moved now and picked up following Polk in the new Davis era and watched the crowds grow year in and year out. But I notice every year also that the fire isn't there like in so many other schools fan bases. Yeah you bring 4k to a field but where's the noise? It was so blatantly obvious this past Friday as I turned around from my perch on the fence to see fans more interested in who's going to catch a football from a cheerleader than as to what was happening on the field. Even as the young men made their way onto the field after half time not even a quarter of the bleachers even stood up to cheer them back onto the field. Several 3rd down plays and even a pair of fourths not even a squeak of defense or some other form of support emerged from the crowd. Seriously people these are your son's, nephews, grandchildren and brothers out there playing for an 11-0 team!!! Where's the fire!!! Where's the roar that can be heard across the mountain tops and down to the rivers across the valley? This is your time Wildcats fans and this is how you show it? The only true fire I have seen in years past are from the old man and his young partner that run the sidelines screaming "MOJO,MOJO!!", is this how you guys want to be represented? :thumb: Take this to the bank guys and gals!!! Ignite the pilot light in your hearts with the desire you have for life and show these kids what real support is and I want you to blow the tops of the heads off these 2 jokers when the 11-0 POLK COUNTY WILDCATS, ENTER THE STADIUM, ENTER AT THE HALF, MAKE A PLAY, AND REMAIN THE BEST POLK COUNTY TEAM EVER ASSEMBLED ON THIS FIELD!!!!! :thumb:

Those two guys who get the crowd going chanting "mojo mojo" drive from oak ridge, if I remember correctly, every friday to see the Wildcats play. The older guy is a Polk alum, and has been doing the chant all through my years of playing for Polk til this day. They are usually great at getting the crowd up and going. I enjoy hearing it :thumb:

  10. Go Wildcats...good coaching and good hard working players.

....who get no respect at all from anybody who hasn't actually seen them play. Oh well, they welcome the negative comments and trash talk. Go Wildcats :thumb:

Well I have gone all season long without posting but its time for "89" to make an appearence. You and every other Polk fan is gonna have to give up this "we get no respect theme." Are you kidding me? Have you picked up a Chatt. Times lately? It seems to have an article on Polk football almost every week. Everything from offense to defense or what Coach Davis had for breakfast. Furthermore, I promise you every team you have played or are gonna play respects you. Some of the fans may talk trash on this board but thats just the nature of the beast. Polk County may just be the most respected team in the Chatt. area. Especially by the coaches because of the simple fact that even in your "down" years you are still hard to beat. Pay no attention to what the "knuckleheads" like to say on this board you are well respected.

You didn't get my point. I read the times free press and the daily banner pretty much every day. The chattanooga area media and teams have seen Polk play and respect us very well. When I say no respect I'm talking about the "knuckleheads" you talk about, who couldn't even tell you anything about Polk Co., whether it be coach, mascot, colors etc. much less how they play.

But anyway, I'm excited about the atmosphere that will be here in Benton Friday. Everyone around here is so proud of this team, including me. :)
