I was at the Polk / Meigs game two years ago in Decatur. I believe both of them were state ranked. Meigs had a great team and won 21-0 if I recall correctly. And, if I'm not mistaken that was the game Mr. Zach Rayl (QB for Central now) scored his first high school TD on an absolutely beautiful wingback pass thrown TO him.

Polk should come into this game pretty ticked off from the close loss to Howard and get the job done /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I was at the game also, and the stereotype of Polk having no speed needs to be put to rest. There were plays where Polk outran Howard and plays where Howard outran Polk. And plays where Polk ran down Howards palyers and Howard ran down Polk's players. It was just a great game. The rest of the region will have their hands full with both the Tigers and the Wildcats.

This was a very well played, disciplined game on both sides.

Just a question, not that it really affected the game, but did Howard get 5 downs when they were deep in their own territory on the South end, it was during the series with the option play that was blown dead for the QB's knee being down? Howard ended up punting, just gave them an extra play to get some breathing room for the punt,,,,if it was 5 downs....Did anybody else think it was 5?

Man what a heck of a game. Final Howard wins 28-26 in a very close game. The Wildcats played with so much effort and grit, but were bitten with a couple of big plays that won Howard the game. The speed WAS NOT a factor in this game as much as many people predicted. I'm proud of the Wildcats and the effort they showed tonight on that field. Howard played with great effort and congrats to them. But once again, a few plays here or there and the Wildcats would've won that game. Other than the big plays the game was pretty much even /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

This game will be News Channel 9's Game of the Week!!

Glad to see at least one station respects this game's impact

Money talks as they say and those two schools have enough buy and sell us all. But just because they're rich doesn't mean they could beat Polk or Howard. I'd like to see these two line up against the Hustlin' Tigers this season.

Just seen where most stations will probably be having the mccallie vs. baylor game as the game of the week. Pretty weak stuff /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" Seems like if there is ever anything remotely going on in chattanooga that you can call a game the stations always choose that over having to travel a few miles to see a real game that could decide the outcome of a tough region. I wonder the same thing Del. Seems like in every Polk thread most of the posters have joined that same day or close to that day. I guess people just like to talk to themselves /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

I do not doubt for minute that Howard has a lot of speed, and that they are a very good football team and that speed will be on both sides of the ball. Polk is also a very good football team with a lot of potential. Polks defense is pretty good, not real sure about the overall ranking based on strength of apponent, but none the less very good. This game I think will come down to whoever wants it the most, and I think the Polk players may have a little extra to play for this week, so I still think it will be a great game.

As far as the comments about some of the players having a big head, I can assure you that this is not the case. These players dont even realize their own potential. If any of Polks players got to feeling this way they would be sitting on the bench trying to figure out how to become a team player.

In my oppinion this years team has a lot of unselfish players that are real easy to coach and just want whats best for the team.

polk players arent supposed to be posting are they? better hope coach d dont find out and as we all can see you already have the BIG head sure you may have the best d on paper but the quality of competition is much higher elsewhere in the state than it is in the region you are in

FYI he isn't a Polk player and none of the actual players are saying they are the best defense in the state I can tell you that right now. Coach Davis doesn't allow that kind of talk or let his players get the big head; I should know.

Well all my rowdy boys... I said its great to be, A Polk County Cat... HMMMM... Well all you boys that thinkin this is Ryan, try again. Ryan is TheUndertaker. This is his cousin and I would be more than happy to shut a few of you old grads up. I mean dang. You all are so immature to have to get on here and run your mouth to a teenager. Ha Ha. Final Polk 36-14 Nice win for THE Wildcats. Polk came out and was very physical. They had their way with Sweetwater, from what I seen. Congrats guys and goodluck the rest of the season to Sweetwater. Once again, there were no parking spots left on campus and that's a really good thing to see. These guys are making me really proud going out there and taking care of business week in and week out /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
