  1. Bulldogfan24, where did that mouthpiece go?  You aren't talking anymore?  What happened?  Were the brothers not healthy?  Hickman isn't ready to take the reigns in this district yet.  259 yards rushing by DeShawn Brown....Nuff said.  Big discrepancy in talent I would say.  Maybe it was the refs giving Camden all the calls...Many times your coaches love your passion, but hate your keyboard.  Bulletin board material is meant for after the game.  That final score is bulletin board material enough for the Camden boosters!!! Good luck the rest of the season.

  2. The time keeping cost Huntingdon not Camden . If two qts of football. impress you why don't you and blow get one started. two qts is all Camden ever plays

The clock should have run out a long time before it did. Multiple times it would run during penalties, would stop when it shouldn't have been stopped.   It didn't start on one play till the play was blown dead.  Huntingdon was on the 29 with 45 seconds and then on the 1 with 43 after the next play.   It this is correct then that's the fastest 40 in the history of the game.  Just saying..... Didn't matter though.  The 4th and 22 on your own 16 with 2:58 left was the icing on the cake.  Probably couldn't stop them, but I dang sure wouldn't give them a free TD.

  3. As usual, adjustments were made at halftime and one team didn't make any.  Sometimes you gotta run more that 4 plays the whole game.  If I was getting blitzed by LBs every play, I might get a play dumping over the middle to a TE.  Hard to run the ball when you have 4 guys in the backfield as soon as you get the RB the ball.  Its a broken record for the Lions.  No diversity in the game.  Won't EVER win the big rivalry games until they decide to change the gameplan when it isn't working. Congrats to the mustangs.  Need a new clock manager in Huntingdon.  That seems to happen a lot in Carroll county.

  4. I have not seen the Mustangs play this year and I suppose that most Mustang fans have not seen Camden play.  From my limited knowledge of Huntingdon's playbook (going to Camden vs Huntingdon games) I can see the student body left and student body right plays on a consistant basis from them.  Camden's run defense is fairly strong this year.  Pass defense is not as strong.  I don't think Huntingdon can win just running the ball.  I could be wrong, but not often...lol. Camden can run only and win this game.  Huntingdon has not seen a back of Deshawn Brown's caliber this year and probably won't the rest of the year.  He is very, VERY talented. Just go ask a Lewis county players how difficult it was to tackle him.  He is probably only second to John Jones at Crockett County as the best in West Tennessee.Camden doesn't always run the wing T offense anymore either. More a read option now.

People want to talk about Camden's schedule being weak and how they only beat South Gibson by 3 and all that junk.  Camden just dominated a Lewis county team that was undefeated, big, and coached by one of the best coaches in Tennessee High School Football. Schedule means nothing in how strong you team is.

Huntingdon has lost two games and to undefeated teams at that.  Well this makes the third they will lose to an undefeated team.  Camden runs through Huntingdon and wins by 14.    Camden 34 Huntingdon 20.

Hope for safe travels and no injuries.

  5. First of all, I would like to say something about the wonderful sportsmanship I saw in this game.  No chest beating, no rubbing it in someone's face, no grandstanding after a score.  Just the runner handing the ball to the ref and going back to business. I have never seen that in a game in HS football where both teams were fully focused with the task at hand.

Very good game with the Patriots coming out ahead but they tried to give it away with the read option blunder of a fumble.  Both teams should be great next year also.

  6. Hats off to Lewis County.  They played good considering the conditions. Camden couldn't get out of their own way....I mean the pulling tackle couldn't get out of #22's way.  Don't like using names on here.  Lewis County has a great backfield.  #7, #20, and #15 are quite fast.  #48 is a good power back.  Camden's play calling this game was atrocious.  I think I could have defended them with 8 players.  Every play was obvious.  I hate to say this, but this is the most underachieving Camden team I have seen in 10 years.  A lot of talent but not performing as expected.  Did I say that the play calling was atrocious?  I think the playbook was 4 plays deep.....

  7. Congrats to Huntingdon. I was a little disappointed in the Camden defense tonight. Seems like Huntingdon kept running the same play over and over and over to the right in first half and to the left the second. Kept running away from #68 Chris Nazi the whole night. The blocking scheme of the the Mustangs is very dangerous to these young kids and should be banned IMO. The cut blocking on the weak side is dangerous. Legal but dangerous. Some consider it a little dirty. I call it football. Camden played too flat for three quarters. Not having Tanner to throw the ball definately hurts. The Huntingdon defense didn't respect the pass at all. Why would they. Camden's corners should have been up on the line of scrimmage the whole game to stop the run, but they stayed back and waited on Warbritton to bring them the ball and then he would run over them or break several tackles. After all the "big game" loses the Lions suffer you begin to wonder where the problem lies. Too many times they have the team to win, but don't...Hmmmmmm....I'll leave it at that.

  8. Here is my gurantee... I would probably feel the same way you do if I were in your shoes. BTAIM, yes they need benches on that opposite side. They even aquired them to install and had them stacked up over there to install them (while I was attending there). I also know that a little later they moved them from that side of the field to under the benches on the opposite side. For all I know they are still there. I think the reticence to install them has something to do with it being clay over on that side and is suceptible to muddying up (possibly erosive also).

I agree the cubs are too one dimensional and even said that (no passing game). You couldn't possibly be suggesting that the cubs won by passing? There is only two modes of attack in football (on the ground and through the air). They didn't win by magic they must have won by running the ball. So I guess I have to disagree with you on that point.

I gotta hit the hay and I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

The Cubs were stagnant running the ball until the last drive. They had been stopped about 4 drives in a row. The two passing plays were 3rd and 18 and 3rd and about 15. Camden hadn't been hurt with the run the whole game. Camden had the more explosive run plays. Your QB play was far superior to Camden's 3rd string QB play. That's what gave you the win. Not the run game. If not for those two pass plays on one drive and the TD catch, you guys don't win. If that TD isn't called back, I don't think yall would have won. If ifs were fifths.......you know the rest. Good game! We can leave it at that...
