  1. Jake Ryan pitcher of the year MY @$$! Powell beats west 6-4. west played the best game of there lives and still couldnt be powell. This is all a bunch of politicial Bull $hit.
  2. Even if though u need karns to win, u still need to beat powell, and they're no push over and they'll be ready wensday !
  3. Look at the opportunity powell has to take the district. This coming week should determine the district standings. if powell sweeps Oak Ridge and Oak Ridge, at least, splits it with karns. Powell could verywell find themselves at the top. bet no one saw this coming.
  4. Powell beats Clinton 9-4. Powell overall 11-4 and in the district 5-3. powell is on a 6 game winning streak and looking to make it a 7th with clinton tomorrow night! powell is very solid in there line-up and has extras if they need them. watch out oakridge and halls cuz u could be looking at some up sets if your not on your toes.
  5. Powells getting tougher by the game. the end of the season is going to be tough for everyone
  6. Dont forget about powell. they're showing great improvment since there first game... i look for them to be in the top three... halls and powell will be a close game.
  7. Powell beats West 6-1, powells on a roll 4 wins in a row. they're moving on up in the district.
  8. any stand out players for west?
  9. for powell. Brad Pressley pitched the first 5 innings, Andrew green came in and finished it out for the panthers. the ump was squeezing green , the only pitch for a strike was meat. for karns, im not sure who pitched first. russel,a lefty, # 14 or 15 came in in the 6th to finish it up for the beavers.
  10. Powell loses at powell to karns 7-5... karns scored 4 in the 7th.
  11. i see no problem with the big boy inside, i went to the Maryville and DB game and they seemed to hold the inside game down. i dont see it as "if" they will do those 2 things, more of when and how they do it. they have the talent and the coaching to get them the win. they just need to have an on game.
  12. Well unless west has improved there batting from last year, they might find themselves behind halls and powell. lockwood was a big clutch player for halls, so with him gone in the lineup, even though they can hit, can they follow through with the win every game. Powell is bringing back 8 starters from last year. so i look to see them using that to there advantage. Pluz i believe powell will have more people stand up and lead the team along with hargis. it will be close never the less
  13. I believe you might underestimate how well powell plays agaisnt better teams. match-up problem or not. Powell has excellent 3 point range shooting, conner and howell both hit the 3's great, pluz conner is very moble coming to inside and outside shooting. along side with jason seymore who is a great defensive player inside and hargis who is a overall great athlete who will make things happen. i also might add that they shoot well from the free throw line. so count on adding alot of points when powell gets fouled. i say its a close game, both teams have the chance to win, but i say its a 6 point game.
  14. Yea, the more level the better. i was just pointing that one problem out. the lighting for night games is great there though!
  15. 2004 powell team won district. but yes i've seen powell play a few games already this year and your right, they are "decent" they all have talent, i just cant put my finger on what makes them not any better than they should be. any ideas?
  16. Daniel Evans from Powell can apsolutly smash the ball. I saw one last year against west that i still havent seen come down. As long as he keeps up the hard work and keeps his head on the ball, he'll be doin big things.
  17. losing lockwood will def. put halls on their toes, so im seeing them as just OK. the team to watch for is powell. 8 returning starters and a pretty good pitching staff. going to be the team to beat this year.
  18. I just played at A/C and there field is looking good this year. probly the only problem with there field is the drop of from infield to outfield, and it gets worse as u go towards right field.
  19. So the team im looking at for this year is Powell. They have 8 returning starters. 3 or 4 with D1 potential. All they need is drive to be good and unity and they could very well find themselves winning district and even regional. Powell is looking good to have a winning season. since their embarrassing 2-22 season in 05` they've been doing nothing but getting better. Along side with a 5 man coaching staff and an involved/supportive community, i look to see them on top!
