  1. The grass will be mowed close this week in preparation for the DA beatdown. Give me a shout if you want to stay at the trailer after the game. Go Spartans!

It will be fun.....DA secondary is ready for anything Knox has....St George is who you need to worry about after DA and DCA take care of you....can you stop the veer? lol

  2. You are talking about regular season, okay, but Knoxville Webb won the state championship and going to win it again. And yes, you are going to take a whupping on a uniformly wet or dry field, something that could not be said about the Cubby field at DA. :roflol:

    lol......such anger like I said before....lol

  3. I don't think picking Webb by two or three touchdowns is being negative. I have many long-time friends with affiliations with DA. Not a single one of them has ever done me wrong. Question asked and answered. Now go on up to Knoxville in a little while and take your whupping without whining.

I am not going to stoop to your crystal ball stuff. I guess on here, no one has to back up their stuff.

  4. And probably a dry field. Webb by two touchdowns, maybe three. Fun for Webb. :D

Can I ask you a question and please if possible, give me an Honest answer. I have been reading your posts for several years. I am ok with your opinions because everyone has one.....however, why when you post about DA is always negative? Why do you feel the way you do about Davidson Academy? Has someone from there ever done you wrong or anything?

Just thought I would come out and ask. There has never been anyone on here so against DA.....

  5. What a difference a week makes for Webb... last night Webb completely dominated the #1 ranked 5A school in the state.

The Spartans were very impressive in their blowout 33-7 win over Knoxville Catholic. This team must have had a great week of practice and were understandably peaking ahead a bit last week when they played FRA because the team I saw last night was just clicking on all cylinders. Great job by all the players and coaches!

Now that Webb has defeated it's bitter rival, they can now focus on finishing the season and realizing their ultimate goal of winning a back-to-back state championships.

Great win for Webb........DA will bring a great team and coaching staff. It will be a fun time. St George is stepping up.......so proud of those guys......and Coach Ken getting that accomplishment....what a life!

  6. Long season ahead before we get to that point. Both teams have a lot of improvement that will occur I'm sure. We look forward to the trip up. Should be a great game on Friday followed by another great one on Saturday! But just cuz I like to have fun, we only need 2 technically.

And as far as the rest of the team playing, yes of course. I really wish some people would realize that no matter how incredible Justin is (and this is in no way, shape, or form a bash on Mr. Williams) he couldn't do anything without at least 10 other guys cuz TSSAA wouldn't allow it. It's a shame people think that he is all this team has because the boys over at Davidson proved last year he wasn't the team.

Well said. Having Justin last year at the end would have been fun to watch like the year before....Justin does what he does....but a lot of credit should go to the boys on the line and that Defense. That secondary is growing up. To lose at Cascade was probably the best thing that could have happpened. The younger boys had a decision to make......step up or continue like this.....Justin had to make that decision as well as all the seniors.....time will tell....

All teams improve every week, at least we hope so. Should be a lot of fun at the end.

  7. You can say Webb would be the favorite in the East/Middle but DA, DCA and possibly FRA are right there too. It's true Webb beat Maryville in a scrimmage 4 scores to 2 but it was a scrimmage. Obviously impressive but not a real indication of how a real game would end up. Webb is dressing 40 players after graduating a huge senior class from last year and their depth is razor thin so injuries to key positions would really change things for them. They had an impressive win last night invoking the mercy rule on 5A Knox Halls early in the 3rd quarter. They have FRA this week at Webb which will be a tough game based on what I'm hearing about FRA's team this year.

    goodluck to everyone...

  8.

To some extent the same thing (desire & speed) happened in the championship game against USJ where Webb's DBs completely shut down the USJ passing attack while handling their run game as well. Pressure by Webb's DEs caused the USJ QB problems too.

As for the Middle/East... the 3 best teams are Davidson Academy, DCA and Webb. Going to be a war between those 3 teams the last 2 weeks of the season. Looking forward to see how the season shakes out!

Good post. Now that Justin is back, DA has a lot of hope. Blaine Bishop on the D does not hurt any at all. We are thankful for his dedication to the kids. Beating DCA like that was big for the team to return after losing so many seniors.

So happy to see St George coming back. Miss those battles a lot. DA and SG have a history of great ball. Need SBEC FACS and HARDING to step up. We miss that great atmosphere as well. We miss Memphis.

  9. Davidson is coming off a highly emotional victory against a DCA team that was honestly much better than the Bears. Davidson may not be the team they were last year, not even close really, but good teams find ways to win. Look for Davidson to use last weeks game to spring board them onto a winning run.

And as I have said before, this isn't a running team. Without the big pass reception by Jordan Williams last week on the game winning drive, no victory. Look for him to get increasingly better over his career.

    DA 19

    CW 8

Collinwood brought the Kitchen sink to stop the run and did a good job. Williams got 203 yds 2 tds, younger brother Jordan Williams caught a td pass. No one could pass tonight very good. Nasty and wet. CW picked Williams up off the ground many times........CLASS ACT.

  10. The bears won't be a running team, if they are they will lose. The Cascade game was a good game, but Cascade did what they had to do to win and Davidson did what they had to to lose, i.e. turn the ball over and drop passes. This years Davidson team will win or lose depending on whether or not the recieving corp decides to show up on Friday nights. They pass 20 times a night and catch it, they're lethal. They don't catch it then it doesn't matter.

Congrats Davidson, looks like Justin is back and the young DB'S are doing a great job.

  11. What exactly were the outcomes of those scrimmages with DCA and DA?

    DA @ Dekalb

Both teams traded back and forth for a few. DA 1st team 2-0 against Dekalb 1st team. DA RB did not dress. He will go Friday Night against Cascade.

I have a lot of respect for Dekalb. Great group of people that love the game of H.S. Football. There QB had a lot of dropped balls. Catch first and then run.......they will improve a lot including their running game. We wish them the best.

  12. DCA should be very good. They return alot of starters from last years team and from what I've heard they are co-oping with USN. Should be interesting to see how they do.

    [/quote

That is great news. Anyone know from the west if Bishop Byrnes has anything like that 05 team that had DE's that were 6-3 and quicker than lightning? 11 in the box. Boy that team was good. Just wishing everyone the best for this year. Going to be fun.

  13. Div II whats the deal. Did Williams get injured again? I know you know. :?:

Took a helment above the left knee on the side in two a days. It is sore but he has green light and the coaches being conserative with him and others. He is looking forward to a great year. Just want to keep the cardio up. Like with any team, that first week of hitting can bruise some players up.

Good to hear that Memphis is rebuilding again. I would think that St. George would not be down for long with their coaching staff. Miss the old days of SBEC and those guys being on the top of their game. I know in the old days that SBEC had a reputation to be BIG HITTERS. Hope they and others continue to rebuild. Best to everyone.

  14. Justin Williams tore his ACL last year and might not be back to 100 percent for the season and as for Jordan WIlliams he is the 3rd string back. They have a stud power back named Aubrey Dixon who took over at RB after Williams got hurt last year. Also interested to see how DCA and FRA do this year. DCA played in the region championship last year and lost a hard fought game to webb on arguably DCA's worst offensive night of the year and they have every skilled starter back and a good looking young line. And for FRA they still have Maitland and rumor has it they beat Davidson friday at their scrimmage.

Justin is back all right. Also Justin and Aubrey did not play much at the FRA practice. Justin scored three of his 5 carries. Will not see a lot Justin and Aubrey in the preseason. Aubrey is so important at LB and Justin at RB. Also 1st team offense and defense were mostly skilled postions freshmen and sophs. Got to get them some reps.

DA is like Webb, rebuilding after a lot of great lineman graduated. I hear DCA and FACS are rebuilding as well.

Does anyone know what has happened to st george, harding, jackson christian SBEC and others? even bishop byrnes? how long before they rebuild?

thanks if anyone knows out there.

  15. Well the season is almost here and myself and many others where wondering who the best in D-II A is?? Knox Webb won it easily last year dominating everyone they played in the play offs even the favorite ECS. So what does this year have in store for us?

Davidson has Justin Williams back. Might make a difference. Younger brother Jordan is going both ways as well. Have to wait and see how it turns out.

Does Memphis having anything except ECS? St george through rebuilding? Harding? SBEC?

  16. That #8 Arrington is just a horse. Having watched him over the years, I can say that he is such a difference maker for DA. He doesn't get the carries but boy does he do the dirty work opening up holes for Williams and now Dixon. He's one heck of a LB, too, but just a bulldozing FB that you don't see at this level too, too often. I don't know what his speed or pass-catching abilities are but I have to think he can play college ball for somebody as a true full back.

Blair is a true FB. He has done a fine job over the last 4 years. Remeber Big Eric? #2 from the last group of boys? Blair is alot like Eric for sure.

I have always respected your opinions fover the years and find your unbias views of all teams to be very accurate. Justin is doing much better now and wishes he could have played against Ryan and SBEC friday. He understands that next year Ryan will be gone. He is a heck of a QB. We wish him the best of luck and hope he continues to play somewhere.

Jordan, Justin's brother is like Josh #25 was.....a scat back. He is finally back in a limited role. Wade is not using him much due to his broke ankle he recieved in a practice scrimmage at the first of pads. He did some wildcat, kickoffs and punt returns Friday night.

Think you will see him more here at the end. Best of luck to everyone and Justin will be back next year to finish out.

Always great to read your posts. Please do your year end summary this year if you have time. Best of luck and safe travel to everyone.

  17. Great game but where was the excitement from the fans and players during that 4th quarter? The sidelines were pretty hum drum and so were the fans. When it's tied up late in the game like that, you gotta get excited, not just sit there or take a knee..... But both teams played very well. Good luck to both next week.

Dude, I hate to say it but if you have so much pride in the wildcats...why in heck don't you

go watch them Play instead of coming to all the collinwood games????????????????

Don't get me wrong, we appreciate you buying a ticket but...

Well, since my girlfriend is a cheerleader for Collinwood, it's either come watch her cheer or get in trouble lol. Plus I get to see how Cwood plays against some teams WC plays, like LC and MtP.... But I usually have people texting me at WC's games telling me what's going on, play-by-play and such.

Just wondering who B. Reeves is......Justin's 75 yard td in the 3rd was clean.....film shows it....someone on collinwood got pancaked.....that is not a hold.....or anything else....The td in the first quarter was clean as well......collinwood is a good team....collinwood did nothing wrong........something did not smeill right from the get go......not blaming collinwood...they are a great team......and they do hit hard.....keep hitting....you guys will go far. COLLINWOOD IS LIKE BEES ON HONEY.......GREAT JOB.

Great game guys. Collinwood is a great team that gave davidson all it wanted. Those umpires killed us with that 1st qt td and called it a fumble....then called back justin's 75 yd td in the third. I think we had 10-12 penalties.....i quit counting...lol

putting that aside.....collinwood should go far this season......and your numbers were alot....like 75 to 85 kids? great that the community comes out to play.....that trace is a wierd thing too.....something out of a movie with the fog....

Justin told me you guys hit him hard.....again and again and again....a lot of respect for you guys....i will follow you guys the rest of the season.....play like that....you will win a lot of games....

good luck......the wood is a tough place to play.....tell them to keep hitting hard.

  19. This guy sounds like a beast...

He isn't big, just incredibly talented. C-Wood won't see another athlete like him this year.

Justin is different......it will be fun for Collinwood. They are a great school with a great progam. We thank Collinwood for the chance to battle. Programs like Collinwood are hard to find. We enjoyed Cascade and also Camden in the preseason. We have to travel to play. Hope Friday night is safe for everyone.

    DII

I don't think Collinwood will be as much of a challenge as Cascade. But I can see where it could be a good game if DA doesn't want to risk injuring key players and showing too many of their plays.

That is a Paul Wade question. The head coach only knows. We respect Collinwood for taking this game. I respect you guys so much for scheduling the game. It made Cascade better and Camden better.....both are two great ball clubs.......like i said.....the Collinwood coaches know something.........great respect for Collinwood.

    Best,

  21. How did DCA beat davidson cause what i seen was davidson had well over 300 yards rushing so my question is how did DCA ever get the ball were there mistakes turnovers at bad times or what?

Williams did have 286 yds on 35 touches with 3 tds. Another one was called back on a holding call from 7 yds out. Hard to explain. Had the ball in the redzone twice in the third and strange things happened. Driving in the redzone at halftime and just ran out of time. Strange things happen sometime.

The Collinwood game will be fun. Goodluck too all.
