Last year i got to meet the guys from Onieda's band when they came up and played Cloudland in playoffs. They are all really nice and really good musically. Just wanted to comment on you guys. Oh, and for all those people who say band isn't hard, it isn't a sport, that we don't help the football team, and that we should just stop playing, well YOU TRY IT SOMETIME!!!!! I have to carry a bass drum and keep it on ALL the time, and it weighs about 30 or 40 pounds. We practice alot, and we DO help the football team, in case you didn't notice, we play when the other team has the ball, so it's harder for their offense.

I agree, but knowing those guys they DEFINITELY want a second chance at Hampton, so they'll be playing their butts off! Those guys can recover from pretty much anything and some key players will probably be back in the game Friday night. Good Luck Landers!!!!

I must say, not only because i am a member of the band, but also because we are pretty entertaining and we have fun with everything we do (even if we don't like it) my favorite band is The Cloudland Highlander Band. This year our show was "A Western Montage" and it was really cool - even though we didn't like the music at first, It grew on us. You should come out and see one of the smallest, yet most entertaining bands in East Tennessee. (Or at least Carter County)

Also, wanna say GOOD LUCK to the Highlander Band on Friday night... you guys are awesome, and I know how much you have worked this year. Love you guys!! Congrats to the CHS Band Seniors: Jesse, Josh, Adam, Jon, and Haruka. I'll miss you guys next year!! Good luck to all CHS seniors Class of 2006

I know there's already a topic for favorite HS band, but what HS band do you think is most entertaining-who has the best show, best stand tunes, cheers, etc.???

Region 1 has alot of heart - way more than people think and give them credit for. Thanx for the good luck to our team so good luck to Hampton friday night. Hopefully we'll get the chance to play Hampton again sometime soon. Good luck to Coach Keith and the Landers friday night too.

Does anyone know anything about Midway's team???

So...who do you think will come out on top Friday night on Highlander Hill??? The Highlanders are ranked 8th in the state and Midway is ranked 25th statewide. Ithink it'll be the Highlanders all the way. Good Luck in the playoffs guys!!!

That is one of the best posts I have ever seen and it is totally true. Good luck to the Highlanders in the playoffs!!! No matter what anybody says the Highlanders will ALWAYS be my favorite football team and school!

I haerd Hampton's Band last night and i'm good friends with some of the people in the band, but their show isn't that gr8 and its pretty boring this year

My Favorite HS Band is Cloudland's Band. They're really small, but they are really good and a very big crowd pleaser. Their show this year was "A western Montage" and I believe it was really good! I went to 3 Marching Band Competitions this year and they were at 2 of the 3 and they got 1st place drumline both times, !st & 2nd place band, superior both times, and 1st place drum major at Greeneville band classic, their drum major was 2nd place of the DAY, beaten only by Dobyns Bennett! Their band may only have 19 people, but they have VOLUME!! If you get a chance to see them this year...you should! To all those people who ask why band is so special and important and why it takes so much work, YOU TRY IT SOMETIME!!!!!!

Mike Lunsford, no matter what anybody else says, is DEFINITELY not one of the "best people" in the world. When he was up at Cloudland he did alot of things many people disliked (including ruining alot of peoples chances at having a 4.0 or college) And many people believe the only reason he left the Landers is because we didn't have a good year last year! Well guess what! We did GREAT this year without him!
