Dang Charlie - Why are letting all that "hate" out on the Chargers?
Because I played for Polk.... the hate is a requirement!
-
I mentioned earlier how our best Central team a few years ago won the district but lost in the first round to the 4th place team of another district TWO YEARS IN A ROW.
Central hasn't won the district "TWO YEARS IN A ROW".... this century!

We all know Central is a heavy favorite in this game, but it would not surprise me if this game stays close for at least a half. Polk was leading a very good East Ridge team at the half.
Polk has played strong quarters here and there, they just haven't strung four of them together.
-
and while we are promoting local eateries, there is also the BBQ joint right before you exit off hwy 64 to get onto 411... I think it's the Bear's Den...?
-
I think I agree with fish..it will be a low scoring affair. Polk held Bradley central to 21 points.. Polk turned the ball over two times inside Bradley's 10 yard line. I don't know if any of that means anything in this game, but that one could have been a little closer....
Polk is young and somewhat inexperienced, and everyone (district 5AA) thinks this is the year to end the win streak.... who knows? I sure don't, but the quote, normally attributed to Mark Twain, keeps ringing in my head.... "the reports of my death are greatly exaggerated"
And to the food,,,, Whitewater Diner, Dam Deli, Gondolier are all good up a little on East 64.. There is also the Hardees, a Mexican restaurant just as you get onto 411, and then a pizza place about a half mile north on 411. These are all good places to eat.

Thoughts?
Polk's numbers are down, they graduated quite a bit on both sides of the ball. They will be starting a lot of underclassmen.
Last year's game came down to a 2pt conversion try on the last play.
-
Got another text 38-21 GB throwing it all over them.
Sounds like the same info I got.
-
I couldn't make it either. And haven't heard anything.
-
Postponed til Mondayany word on the Greenback and Polk County scrimmage?
-
They look very young. Polk graduated a lot on both sides of the ball.
-
Polk scrimmaged Tyner yesterday evening. (5/1/14)
They looked about the same as every other Polk team that I have watched in Spring scrimmages.
It was 1-1 in the "10 plays and out" format. (2 posessions each)
and 1-0 PC in the down and distance format with the 1's.

Their enrollment places them in 3A. Isn't that the point of classifications? You know, playing with schools that are your size. Alcoa should be commended for working to raise the bar and for achieving such a high level of excellence. Maybe the rest of 3A should step up their game in turn.
Great post!

42-14 Alcoa.....but won't be that close...running clock when 3rd qtr starts!

Good Luck Raiders

Fact University of Alcoa 45 York Institute 7
Fact Upperman 56 York 0
You boys can talk all you want reality is coming for you! You cant find the leprechauns anywhere on CoachT and this time next week you boys will be in hibernation just like they are!
You can write that down and scratch it out in blood!
Y'all really like them score comparisons....how about one wit good teams? Is York really a measuring stick?
Knox Cath 22 - ND 13
Upperman 19 - ND 10........ Comparable?
Alcoa beat Knox Cat 49-7.....
Charlie says Alcoa 50 something to Upperman's 14

Yorks hurdle will live on forever. Tremendously athletic play. I think he had 20 yards just on dives/jumps on 3rd and 4th down plays. Enus(forgive me if i mispelled it)is a excellent linebacker. The play after he got banged up conner broke it up the middle for the go ahead td. One heck of a game.
Hurdling a defender is a penalty (unless the defender is on his knees), 15 yards. So the game changing play that will live forever was actually a blown call by the officials.
But one play really doesnt make agame. Congrats to ND on a good season, all them kids are back too, oh boy.
Good luck bees,,,with the east beast!

0:43 NDs ball at their own 1

..... I now hope the leprechauns beat you, and I think they will.
... I still hate ND, I don't care for your AD anymore than the Childress boy (who I don't like so much, by the way), I don't like catlick mackerel snappers, and I think leprechauns is gay.
One team loses this Friday, the other loses next Friday.....
That's one of them Win-Win situations for you Troll!

ND does not run the read option. They run the ball, they pass the ball, they run play action...then they line up in the wildcat and pound it at you. There is no "read" and no "option".
They have good athletes in all the skill positions and a tough group of linemen. And they are mostly underclassmen.
Just clearing up some of the things stated earlier about their O. And for speed, no one on the field will be as fast as Banks. During the Boyd B v ND broadcast the announcer said he ran a 10.6 100m in a track event.
