  1. Lexington is talented but also very young. This game won't make or break the season as far as records go, but I think it have a positive impact , win or lose, on the young freshman players that play tonight. They'll be a long, long, way from middle school ball when they hit the field tonight, time to grow up early.

I'm pulling for Lexington..wouldn't surprise me if the score was 17-14 either way....a blowout by either is hard to see also.

    Should be a great game.

  2. Predators Baseball Team is having tryouts for our 10U and 9U baseball teams. We are here in Paris, TN. Tryouts will be held on July 28th at 9am and 7pm at Mcneil Park in Paris, TN.

The 10U team is carrying over from Last season's 9U team who qualified and participated in USSSA AA World Series. We are looking to pick more players for this team. Also we are wanting to start another 9U team.

For more information call me at 731-693-9146 or Gervis Gallimore at 731-336-6017

If you guys are starting a 9U team I might know someone that would be interested. My son plays for Lightning Baseball, we have a pretty good relationship with your team.

I don't know who your 9U coaches will be, but I will tell the parents that you guys are a class act in 10U. There's an 8 year old that I know is looking for a team, of course he will be considered 9U for the 2012-13 season. I will give his parents your contact info.

  3. Lexington head coach here..headed back from tournament with young daughter..will have roster posted by 2:30.

Lay off of those turkey legs and you will have a free hand to send a email or text.....just saying Coach Burke. LOL

  4. Tough loss for Lexington, but congrats to Page.

I've been involved in youth sports in Lexington for years. Everyone that I coached with knew this group was special. We always thought that if we were gonna win a championship, this group would get it. The good thing about it is most of the kids are juniors, the bad thing is that we lose a lot when we lose Kerry Sellers.

I'll be at the Liberty games now, sucks...but it is what it is.

  5. The two best QB's to play for Lexington in the last 20 years would be Sellers and Stu Jones. Ty Evans was a very good QB for the Big Red but his biggest problem was he played under Coach Lindsey and he was a very poor coach at best. Win/loss records don't lie. :thumb:

20 years? That's saying Kerry was better than Micheal Thomas.

My senior year our QB was Phillip Wood, if he wouldn't have quit mid-season he would have had monster stats.

  6. Are you trying to get me started on my rant about that team again? :roflol:

LMBO, it can't be any worse than the rant you had about that basketball team. You got kicked out of a game for that one. LOL..I promise you that when you was leaving the game I believe you could have put the smack down on a lot of people.

  7. WR? Thats funny just the other day someone made the comment that Sellers was the best QB LHS has had in a while. I said maybe the best "running QB" as for the "traditional" QB id have to go with Ty Evans (in my time) and if Sellers an Evans were on the same Lexington team Sellers would be a WR! I think WR/DB will be his calling at the College level!

Evans and Kerry were not on the same team. Evans had Jonathon Deberry, Cedric Feilds, and Kevis Buckley.

He would throw 5 yards slants to Buckley and Kevis would take the ball at least 20 yards down field for him. Kevis went on to lead the NCAA in interceptions one year and star in the arena league.

  8. A few of the idiots that post on here may not, but I can promise you the staff and more knowledgable fans know exactly how good Greeneville is.

Solomon is right, this staff knows how hard its going to be to even get to Cookeville. They also know what Greeneville is going to bring to the table, but both teams still have to get there.

I wish all of this Lexington/Greeneville talk would stop. As good as both teams are, there are still a bunch of teams that have something to say about handing them both invites to the state championship game.

  9. Phelps, 3 BUSTED plays- 160 yards.

Phelps, 14 DESIGNED plays- 60 yards.

I wouldn't say we couldn't stop him, he just got lucky on some busted plays. He's good, but I have already said this numerous times. But, let's not get carried away saying he's amazing.

Pretty sure all 17 plays were designed runs, I have no idea what you mean by "BUSTED".

Phelps is a great back. You might be the only person that has seen him play live that doesn't agree with that. This game is over anyway, I guess until play off time we won't worry about this match up too much more.

  10. Great game tonight. A few missed calls, but what game doesn't have those. Thought Lexington and CC both played very hard and it was a coin toss at the end. We just couldn't put it in the endzone. As for Phelps, I don't want to see another comment on here about him being mediocre. He showed that he can do it on anybody! LHS2012 I'm talking to you. And the other person who made the comment about sellers having more yards than him on less carries, eat your CROW! Other than that, great game to watch.

Phelps ran away from Blake Smith, that told me all I needed to know about his speed and ability.

It was a great game, CC is a dangerous team that hopefully we'll see again deep in the playoffs. A coach that had played both Lexington and Chester County told me last week that Phelps was the biggest x-factor in the league. I didn't believe him until tonight. That kid can change the game in a hurry. Great win by Lexington, great game from both teams.

  11. The only middle school team is the Junior High! I only got to see one game this year and that was Tuesday night against Selmer! They have alot of big boys and a really good little running back! Yea they played Lexington I believe we won like 28-24 in the last 30 seconds of the game!!

Lexington Middle won that game 16-14 with 35 seconds to go. But, Chester County may have played and beaten Henderson County South. People get our teams confused all the time. My son plays for Henderson County North. We played Lexington Middle 2 weeks ago and I think they only had loss at that time.

  12. If this game happens early in the season Chester County might have took it. But, since Coach 'Worth has took over Lexington has been a very very strong second half team. I think Lexington wins this one, he has got those kids clicking on all cylinders, they will be tough the rest of the season.

  13. Sellers and Halliburton are the only two that yall talk about, to be honest CC has more than phelps that can run the ball. Butler and Bumpas have added good runs to the stats and arent given the credit they really deserve because phelps is making it look "easy". Def in two weeks we will see where both teams stand. The max points CC has allowed in a game is 15. And when two contenders (Lexington and Liberty) go at it and 42 & 49 points are put up that means somebodys defense is a little weak and the offense is all they have. CC has a tough defense and they keep coming the whole game. Finally nobody has put Phelps on a pedestal but the Jackson Sun and his stats they he has earned making him a dynamic back ,but ill let his game speak for itself.

The Liberty game was the first game in which Williams was 100% healthy...he had 3 TDs. Lexington has a whole lot more than Sellers and Halliburton.

We'll just have to wait until the games are played to find out. 4 games into the season its hard to tell who is real or fake.

  14. Way too much football left for this topic to even be alive. Getting to a state championship is extremely hard, you gotta be better than everyone else and have a lot of luck on your side. Lexington posters shouldn't even dream of making threads like this until playoff time.

All I know is that I'll be glad when Chester County plays both Liberty and Lexington. Chester County is a good team, but they won't top stay within 2 TDs of either team. Stop using the Riverside and Henry Co. games as references. Each team had a bad first game. Lexington was with out a stating QB, and the 2nd team QB was hurt, probably the reason they fumbled the snap 8 times. How man teams look good with their 3rd team QB running the offense? Riverside only scored 6 points, but I guess they did run all over Lexington.

Liberty only played best team in West Tennessee, and maybe one of the best in the state that first game. Playing Henry Co. the first game of the season is a death wish and Liberty got it. They are much better than that score. Chester Co. is talking real big for a team thats played nobody. Personally, I think the Eagles should go 8-2 and I hope they have a good run in the playoffs. But all this running over Lexington and Liberty talk is not realistic.

  15. 8U travel baseball? That's just sad.

Its coach pitch and very few teams play a real travel schedule. I coach an 8U team and a lot of parents, including me, use it to get away from league politics, all star teams, ect. Its a family atmosphere with us, we drive 30 minutes, play at least 3 games a weekend, and get to enjoy the week. It beats playing league ball, at least the kids don't deal with fighting parents, politics, and not making a flawed all star team every year. They can just play ball and have fun.

What part of Tennessee are you from, I can probably help you out. I know a lot of 8U coaches.

  16. The Lexington Lightning 8U team is looking for players for this upcoming season. We are very competitive and we have had a very successful start to the 2011 season. But, we also realize that these kids are only 8 and we don't schedule an excess amount of games. We will play no more than 2 tournaments a month, most of which will be at the West Tennessee Sportsplex in Jackson Tennessee.
