The Tennessee Rush AAU Girls basketball program will be having tryouts for the upcoming season soon. THe Jr. High state tournament seems to be one week later this year so our tryouts will also be one week later to give the athletes all a chance to attend. Tentatively the tryout date for 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls will be SATURDAY MARCH 1, 2014. The tryouts will be held in the Livingston and Cookeville area. As always our program will be trying to get players ready to play at the next level and putting them in the most competitive situations possible including AAU Division 1 tournaments, Division 2 tournaments, YBOA, AYBA, and EXPOSURE events for the older groups. We will also be having tryouts for high school age groups sometime in Mid March after the High SChool State tournaments are completed...If you have any interest In playing travel basketball this season with either boys or girls we would like for you to consider Tennessee Rush first and foremost...we are coming off a DIVISION 1 AAU FInal Four Appearance in the 10th grade girls division, elite 8 in division 2 of the 8th grade division (as well as a YBOA STATE RUNNER UP finish), AAU Final Four Division 2 and YBOA STATE CHAMPIONS in the 7th grade division, Elite 8 in the YBOA STate Tournament in the 6th grade division, and elite 8 in the AAU Division 1 in 4th grade division as well as the YBOA 4th grade STATE CHAMPIONS. Tennessee Rush Basketball will participate in several signature events including sanctioned AAU tournaments, Adidas National Events, as well as other exposure events in the Southeast. Our goal is to help each player become a better high school player and give them every opportunity to play basketball at the college level. The Tennessee Rush Basketball program, sponsored by ADIDAS and Gatorade, will be having tryouts for the high school age groups on March 11, 2012. The tryouts will be March 11 at Livingston Academy. 9th grade tryouts will be from 2-330. 10th grade tryouts will be from 330-5. Both of these are girls teams and will play on a highly competitive level, while attending some local tournaments as well as some exposure events. Tennessee Rush Basketball is now one of the elite programs in the state of Tennessee fielding teams in many age groups, and being highly competitive with each grade level. Tennessee Rush has always practiced in Livingston or the Livingston area in years past, however we are currently trying to lock up gyms in the Cookeville area for convenience. Normal practices are Tuesday night and Thursday night. No more than 2 practices a week. No, not all players from last year are returning for this age group. We have the core group returning and we are trying to secure great kids to put with them so that we can compete in the Adidas Nationals at a high level (these are exposure events). TN Rush normally plays two or three weekends then takes 1 off weekend. however, for the high school age groups that is a little fuzzy at time. We usually do that until about June and then we are off three weeks and then start back up in time to attend the college exposures in July. One of those is in Bloomington, Indiana. One is in Nashville, TN. Most of our tournaments are in the Nashville area, however we do attend Adidas Nationals in Bloomington, Indiana and one other tournament in Merrillville, Indiana that is associated with the Adidas Grassroots Program. The 9th Grade girls team will be coached by Coach Joey Williams, who has won 3 jr high state championships at Hilham Elementary, as well as having taken multiple teams to both AAU Nationals and Adidas Nationals. That team was pretty strong last year, finishing 8th at Adidas Nationals and looks to be stronger this year than last. Please let me know at the above email if you are interested. You can go to www.tngirlsbasketball.org and click on the 2011 state tab and find out who won in all age groups, but I will give the ones I know. 5th grade D1: TN Trotters-1st, TN Team Pride-2nd, Nashville Select-3rd, TN Flight Select-4th. I am pretty sure that the Trotters also won the 4th Grade Division.

Any word on the possible replacement for Coach Bibb? Coach Bibb told the boys he was not going to be back early last week. Just wondering what the word is on who will be hired? Who has put in, etc?

I am going to have to go with LA by 11 points in this one...would not be completely surprised if it ends up being 11 the other way but due to the fact that the best district in the state in Single A and Double A is Livingston's (8AA) and 7A which is also in Livingston's area and fields teams like Jackson County which will probably end up winning the SIngle A State Tournament. This experience at home and more importantly on the ROAD will prove to be the difference maker in this one. LA is a powerhouse team that finally slipped up (on the 4th time they played Cannon County) and it is unlikely that they lose 2 games in a row to end this great season. I take LA by 11 and then its on to the BORO and I would be shocked if LA is not the ones holding up the GOLD BALL one week from Saturday. Also would not shock me to see LA-Cannon County for the 5th time around in the State Championship Game...
