All you need is 11 good ones. TC looks at teams with 70 guys and think to themselves "their program can't be that hard."

I think in order for a coach to think like that takes years of experience. Most coaches that have small numbers on their team usually are intimidated of teams w/ 50-60 guys. Thats why its a rare thing for a team like TC with only 28-30 players to not only win the state , but beat some team 52-16 in the state championship.

Good coaching along w/ talent made them win the state championship. When we played them, during the game I was thinking this is the best coached group Ive ever played against, because they did everything right, even the little things. As long as those coaches are there the program at TC will be successful, and I can see them being a dominant force in 1a until they leave.

It is good to be humble, but getting on here and saying that you deserve to be all state is not being humble. I agree he may deserve to be all-state but don't toot your own horn and say you deserve it, let others do that.

okay didnt he say "just some possibilities" ... now where do you get that he said he deserved to be all-state? Mr. Grace, did you know that he was the only guy on that list that made all-state last year? Doesnt that make sense that he is a possible all-state pick for this year? Why would he make a list of all the players in the region, including his own 2 teammates Smith and Skogen, and leave his name off of the list? I think when you actually know the facts... thats when you should start running your mouth... but until then stop trying to make yourself sound like a saint.

Umm... i couldnt tell you for sure, but i dont think so. I havent seen anyone at the games doin it yet.

Grace will be a good team this year, maybe the best single A team in chatt, well we'll find out when they play Temple, which should be a good game. Theyre record last year wasnt bad. Could have been better if they would have played by Jonathan Wheelers 3 quarter game rules, but TSSAA hasnt approved it as of yet.

A couple more:

We are all still here! We just came out flat first game , typical of most teams in their first game. And Walker Valley isnt a pushover. Theyre 3a and might give some teams some problems this year in their district and region. The funny thing is we didnt play that good and lost by a point. I think once we get everyone on the same page and start playing good bball we will be a very tough team .

I (being from Trousdale) think that #44 from Temple is the best player i've seen on the field this yr, Line him up against anyone, in 1a he'll dominate.

I wasnt trying to be stupid........maybe i got a little too excited b/c I think this could be our year. If I offended anyone Im sorry. The games should be great games.........I cant wait either. So do you agree with me that Temples strength has been their OFFENSE and not so much defense the past few years? (that isnt a BAD thing, and it is not a cut down, just an observation)

Your prob. right ... even though we take pride in our defense. But i'm sure that last year when other teams played us they werent quite as scared of our defense as our offense with Caleb, Seth, Sean...etc, even though we did have a good defense.

Proof?? Your words dont prove anything. Half of them arent even true. Coach m. is just as good if not better than coach w. b/c he has done more with less talent in the past. the only reason coach w. looks so good is b/c of all the talent he has had the past few years. And Temple defense hasnt existed since the 90's. I mean cmon, Temple used to be known for keeping EVERYONE in the 30's in the 90's, now they cant even hold 21st Century to the 30's. Temple's defense is not that great. Grace has the advantage in that department too.

No your right bc CW puts the bench in so we dont humiliate teams like 21st.... but if you look at the schedules from the past 4 years we kept yall in the 40s about 5 or 6 times... so i guess thats pretty decent defense

There is no problem with looking at the past, everyone wants to know what kind of program whatever school may have had. You have to look at the past for that and Temple has had that strong program. How many state championships does Grace have?

 

Temple is a strong defensive team and they have been, but when you are scoring more it give the opponent more chances to score. You can't tell me that they haven't been great defensively, you can't win that many game a season without having good defense. Also as many have said already, DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!!

Good call Stevo ... weve beat them in the past couple of years (18-1?) and now that they have a better team than us on paper everyone wants to go buck and say that Temple isnt at the same level that Grace is. But bball is played on the bball court and not on paper ... well unless you have no life.

Temple will finish second in their district.

I've seen both play and I think they're about even at this point, even though some may disagree. I think one thing that might hurt grace is having to many stars on the team. I remember seeing Eldridge shoot about everytime he got the ball one scrimmage... which he did make most of them. And I dont even know if thats an issue for Grace playing as a team... more of a question... will they play team ball? Other than that I see at least 2, 3, or maybe 4 good games between Temple and Grace this year. Good Luck to both...

But seriously, Temple will alwayz be tough as long as they have Coach W. at the head and a few skogens around.

 

Grace people post on temple threads b/c of the rivalry, we know their plays their strengths and weaknesses, and they know ours. It just makes sence to talk about sumthin you know alot about. The games this year will be as intense as past years, but i think grace has the edge in talent this year, but having the talent doesn't alkways win the games.

 

Wasn't Rockwood a top class team last year?
