Franklin wins, but the only person in the gym that could hold Tyler Trobaugh to under 15 points was his own coach. He scored 8 in the last 90 seconds when the coach finally gave him the green light. Please, turn him loose!!!!

If everyone had your aswer for the changing of schools and "everyone had to play with the kids in their neighborhood" Van Atta would still be in Martin. As far as Mt. J playing hard and having a lot of heart, I agree with you 100%.

Franklin really has a lot of speed, they may have an advantage. Brentwood on the other hand has done better against their competition and they did manage to beat Centennial. Not that that is huge accomplishment but FHS didn't manage to do it. The winner has the upper hand on second seed in the district, however.

Can any one tell me when the 11AAA tournament starts and where it will be played in February?

I think Harpeth girls won by 7 points. It was a good game with Harpeth taking advantage of Brentwoods uninspired defensive effort. No disrespect to Harpeth, they have a very good team and play very hard. I just think BHS effort was lacking. Guys game featured an amasing performance by Tyler Trobaugh of Brentwood. Had 8 threes and a total of 42 points. The rest of the Brentwood team scored 17. The Tennesean score this morning was reversed. Harpeth definitely won with a terrific comeback in the second half. The Trobaugh kid has been on the bench for much of the season, even though he is the best player they have. He is a transfer and I think their has been a little "problem" from the hometown boys.

Too quick for Mooney? WOW !! Are you sure she wasn't invisible and quick. Now that would really be difficult to guard.

Sorry for the duplication.My computer was not showing the reply being accepted by Coach T, and then freezing up. As for the 6 qtr rule. I was not aware it had been removed. I don't think either coach knew either because the Harpeth coach told the Brentwood Coach he had violated the rule & the Brentwood coach told him to do whet ever he felt he needed to do. None the less Harpeth did win the game and neither team is effected either way, I was just curious. Thanks for you gracious understanding.

I was told that the Harpeth Coach self reported a violation of the 6 qtr. per day rule after the Brentwood game played on Dec. 13. The girl that hit the game winning shot should have been inelligible because she had played more than the 6 qtrs allowed. She played all of the JV game and all of the Varsity game. Certainly this isn't too important since the game was not a district or even a divisional game, but the player in question did have direct effect on the game. I'm just curious about the truth. Can anybody provide any information about this?

You mean the same Jeff Barnes that dominated against smaller post players for 3 years and beat his chest when he went for high numbers against them but folded any time someone close to his size pushed him around a little ( Becker or the Hillsboro guys ). The same Jeff Barnes that would started to cry and point his finger at all of his teammates when things did n't go his way? I think this is the same Jeff Barnes that broke his toe at Brentwood by kicking the bench when he was blowing the game. Aren't you really glad he is finally gone? I know I got real tired of his selfishness and whining. I agree you do have at least 4 post players this year that could help with the scoring. I hope Coach decides to get them a little more involved. Tonight would have been a good time to work it in to the scheme. By the way Pumpkin, Franklin hit 7 threes tonight. Funny you have become so used to them you can't even keep up with how many you hit.

My reference was to last years district tourney game against Hillsboro. Threes weren't falling but you kept going for it. That hole got real deep! However, you will face teams in the tournament that will be equally as quick your perimeter and your game will need to adjust to a power game. If you don't develop it now, it will be to late by then. Don't get me wrong, I'm for you but, that's how I see your prospects to get to the state. Hope it happens so I can be there.

You have a couple of 4 & 5 players that could contribute to the scoring given the chance. I think you have played so long without a post player that is willing to play with in a team concept that maybe your guards are now not willing to try to play a post game. If the post game doesn't develop, your season will end just like last year. Live by the three & die by the three

The folks at Beech obviously want to keep this a secret but, an unidentified source revealed the top secret tournament schedule to the Tennessean and it was printed in the paper this morning.

Can anyone post the full bracket for the Beech holiday tournament on Dec. 28, 29, & 30? I know Brentwood High girls are playing in it, but I don't know when. I would also like to plan to see some other games but I have been unable to get the full bracket anywhere.

Centennial got beat at home vs Independence. Why would you have Centennial ranked ahead of Independence ? Centennial will continue to under perform as usual.

Are they still holding their tournament next week?

I have no doubt that as soon as his daughter finishes playing , he will drop the girls program. How can you say no one would take the job? He took over from Coach Shipley on short notice as the interim coach. That was three seasons back and it has never been opened for applications since that's because he wants to coach his son & daughter. Selfish? Many of the players on this years team have played AAU.

Why won't the Beech coaches return their callls and let the teams scheduled to play in their Christmas tournament know about the game schedule. The " Tennessean" reported that they were going to Florida for a tournament. Have they cancelled their own tournament and not told the teams that are planning on playing there on Dec. 28,29,& 30? Hey, Beech a little communication PLEASE!!!

Caoches of teams scheduled to play in the Beech Christmas tournament have tried for the last week to contact someone at Beech High regarding the tournament schedule. They have not made contact and have not had anyone to return their calls. It was also reported in the "Tennessean" that Beech was playing in a holiday tournament in Florida. Has Beech cancelled this event and failed to advise the teams that were commited to playing? Why won't they communicate with the teams that are scheduled to play. In either case , pretty poor performance from the school.

Short on coaching, too. The boys and girls basketball players at a school of 1500 plus each deserve a head coach that will give them 100% of his attention. There are juniors that were better players when they were freshmen than they are now. It demonstrates a lack of commitment from the school's administration and a personal selfishness on the part of the current head coach.
