  1. Only silent because I am just now seeing this. I am sure that this is not going to happen.

I do know the future looks awfully bright for PHS baseball. :popcorneater: They only lose 2 seniors and there is a good group of freshman coming in, including another Owenby.

BTW. Congrats to Jordan Sanford for committing to UT! :roflolk:

  2. no way bearden beats halls. i dont think farragut can get 8 on owenby. maybe if they get to bullpen or if powell makes a bunch of errors.

4-AAA>>>>3-AAA. Bearden can definitely beat halls if they come out cocky. Farragut can put 10+ up on ANYONE in the state on any given night, especially a pitcher from powell haha..

Well, that little sophomore lefty from Powell shoved it up Farragut's butt for 7 whole innings. :D Far from the 10 runs you so arrogantly predicted. Phillip pitched a great game and so did Drake. :D

TheFarragutJuniorCollege, even though all you do is run your mouth on here and piss everybody off....I will still be pulling for the Admirals if they do get to Murfreesboro.

    :roflol:

  3. what are your predictions on tonights hv vs powell game? and do you think the winner will have a chance at beating the mavs who are playing pretty hot?

mavs playing pretty hot? huh didnt they jus get beat by halls 5-2.. so much for the super sophomores leading them to the regions? ha get off their meat

the mavs did play hot. They battled back from. 9-2 to end up in the lead. The pitch that colbys game winner was off of was low and 6 inches off the plate. I'll never know how he hit it.

AC played good throughout the tournament, and they also had a great season. They have a very good and well-coached team........I just think it was Powell's time last night. We have been on the wrong end of those kinds of games pretty much all season. We were due. Colby did hit a good pitch. The ball was at the knees, but he was seein' it pretty good all night. :D

  4. Powell hit a 2 run homer in the top of 7th to win 14-12. Final Score Powell has to beat Halls twice to win the district.

Skeen hit a 2 run Bomb to dead centerfield in the top of the 7th that put Powell up 12-11. Owenby then took care of the rest, striking out the first two batters in the bottom of the 7th, and then getting the AC three hole hitter to fly out to right. If there was ever a team that deserved to end up on the right side of one of these, it was Powell. :D

Does anyone know any good 4-day rain dances? :D

  5. heard 3rd baseman for powell was ejected during game. what did he do. who will fill in.

Latham was called out on strikes and hit his bat down on the ground hard. He didn't say anything but the umpire ejected him. Probably deserved a warning or a confinement to the dugout, but definitely not an ejection. 3B won't be the problem as much as 1B. Skeen always plays 3B when Owenby pitches, but not sure who will play 1B. I'm sure Jeff will figure it out.

  6. That is correct. Then Friday at Halls will be loosers at 5:00 and winners at 7:30. The same will be at AC on Friday. Loosers at 5:00 and winners at 7:30. Should be a fun tournament. I think it will come down to Halls, Powell, AC and Karns. What does everyone else think?

That sounds good and I hope you are right....but like I said, Hardin Valley scares me right now.

I'm sure there will be an upset or two along the way. Good luck to all the teams.

    GO PANTHERS! :D

  7. Play-in game should be Central at Campbell Co. with Halls hosting the winner Thursday at 5:00.

Followed by Powell vs Hardin Valley 7:30 at Halls

I think the other games Thursday at Anderson Co. are:

    5:00 Anderson Co. vs Clinton

    7:30 Karns vs Oak Ridge

Feel free to correct me on this.

  8. i believe the walkoff was in the 8th. i think if both win first round games, the rematch will be in the second round.

That's right Rico. It was the bottom of the 8th. You are also correct that they could meet in the 2nd round, but I assure you that nobody is looking past H.V. They are playing as good as anybody right now.

    They scare me. :excl:

Now, back to the Red Devils. -_- They are extremely strong this year. I think they can play with Farragut and give them all they want in the regional tournament.

I do like how my Panthers swung the bat the other night. That was nice to see. :roflol:

  9. OK, about all of these BA's and pitching numbers. Are they from Sophmores playing in JV games or are they playing on varsity as a Sophmore and seeing varsity pitching? OR Are they a mix of playing JV games and a few varsity games? If it's a mix then the numbers don't tell anything. They could bat 90% JV and 10% Varsity.

If these numbers are from JV games then they are not as impressive as they would be if they were playing all year on varsity as a sophmore. If in fact they are "playing up" and starting on varsity, and have been there all year, then they are VERY impressive.

If these are numbers from sophmores playing 100% JV, then quit bragging! Any sophmore worth their salt has these numbers seeing JV pitching. We could name 200+ players across the state with these same numbers!

I can assure you that the two Powell players mentioned on here both play varsity only. They were all-district last year as freshman playing varsity. I would hope that folks are only throwing in names of kids playing varsity, and that they are not mixing in JV stats.

  10. Red devils # 1 seed, i do know that.

That is true, and I think A.C. has a lock on 2nd.

After that, Powell is currently in 3rd with 5 losses, but still has to play at Halls.

Karns has 6 losses but most likely will not lose another.

H.V. has 6 losses with Halls left to play and 2 with O.R.

Clinton is most likely in that mix as well. Not sure how many losses they have.

Not sure where everyone else stands.

Looking forward to the district tournament. :flower:

  11. This is a very solid district with Halls, Powell, Anderson County, Campbell Co., Hardin Valley, Central, Clinton, and Oak Ridge. What are your predictions?? Halls and Powell are probably the favors but Anderson County is surprising very many teams early???

    Oops.....you left out Karns. :roflolk:

They had Halls beat the other night and let em slip away in the 7th.

  12. barkley for sure. several to choose from after that. hilrd burtn crcione palmer etc... devils will roll. how bout the prepxtra rankings, how they make some of those decisions i dont know. coin flip i guess.

    I'm pretty sure Palmer quit.

Pray for good weather (and the same outcome of last season's first two match-ups) :thumb:

    GO PANTHERS!

  13. what a way to kick it off. great atmosphere at both places. who will come out on top.

My guess is that they might split. Both teams should be strong with the pitching depth edge going to Halls but the best overall pitcher going to Powell. Probably will come down to a timely hit in both games. All I know is that I am looking forward to next week!

  14. i believe ac is going to be alot better than what most people are saying. not on this thread, but alot of folk are overlooking them. they lost some quality players, but they lost some attitudes as well according to some. they will definitely compete for the title, over look them and they will make you pay. they are my sleeper in this district. i say sleeper because of players they lost and the misconception that some have of the team. i do believe halls will regain their title that powell took last year. i think they have the best pitching depth of anyone. come tournament time, that will be key.

I definitely agree. Halls should walk away with the title and AC is going to beat a lot of people.

You all shouldn't have to worry about Powell this season. :thumb:
