  1. Britanny and her family are a class act. They have been a great blessing to Unaka High School and area basketball fans. God bless you Brittany and thank you for your sacrifice and contribution to the Lady Ranger Basketball program.
  2. Congratulations to the Unaka Lady Rangers on a great game tonight at Oliver Springs . . . This "very young & inexperienced" team that started out 0-7 gave the OS Lady Bobcats a real scare tonight in the "Land of Os" (a.k.a. a very hostile environment)! The Rangers were leading with 1 minute left in the 3rd quarter after trailing 20-9 at the end of 1 over an extremely seasoned and highly talented Lady Bobcat team. The Lady Rangers "left it on the floor" and showed great courage and teamwork to make it a much closer game than the final score (51-41). Congratulations to Senior Sallee Taylor for leading this youthful group to her's and the team's 4th Sub-State appearance in the past 4 years along with 1 State Tourney appearance! Thanks to the rest of the Lady Rangers and their wonderful Coaching staff for a great year! Way to go Lady Rangers . . . we left OS tonight looking forward to next year /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> P.S. Congratulations to the Lady Cyclones on another good year and good luck to the Cloudland Lady Landers.
  3. My bad . . . it will be Washburn instead of Wartburg on Monday night at Chuckey-Doak (not sure what time).
  4. Congratulations to the Unaka Lady Rangers for winning their Regional game against Hancock County 42 -35. Go Lady Rangers and beat Wartburg on Monday night!
  5. Congratulations to the Unaka Lady Rangers! They are coming together as a team at a good time . . . They have lost several games in the last few minutes but were able to "tough it out" tonight against the Cloudland Lady Highlanders ... good game!
  6. The Unaka Lady Rangers are not supposed to win and they have been there several times this year . . . this young team has made us all proud by making it to the Sub-State and they have nothing to lose . . . and a trip to Murfreesboro to gain . . . GO LADY RANGERS! Also, good luck to the Hampton Lady Bulldogs . . . Unaka & Hampton are about 7 miles from each other and hopefully will extend their seasons and play in the Boro!
  7. Congratulations to the Unaka Lady Rangers for reaching the Region 1A Championship Game tomorrow night against the Hampton Lady Bulldogs at Lincoln Memorial University! These two neighbors from Carter County have worked hard all year and have both earned sub-state "sweet 16" berths. Also, our hats off to the Cloudland Lady Landers who also made Carter County proud with a memorable season. GO LADY RANGERS!
  8. Krich, There are at least three games missing from Unaka's "homepage" here on Coach T. Do you have the scores of the 3 Gatlinburg-Pitman tournament games? Also, the first game at West Greene was never played and needs to be deleted. Congratulations Unaka Lady Rangers on today's big win against a AAA school . . . Good luck in the rest of the Chattanooga Temple Tournament!
  9. Way to go Lady Rangers! Both teams played hard and with a lot of heart in this conference "barn burner".
  10. Krich . . . did you get any stats on how many players from Unaka hit three pointers tonight. It was "raining threes" during the Unaka - Christian Heritage Game with seemingly everyone but the post players nailing a trey! I didn't see the Hampton game but I understand the long range bombers were at work there too?
  11. Congratulations to the Lady Rangers on an exciting win over a good Unicoi County team. This turned out to be a defensive battle with the Rangers holding the lead through the 4th Quarter. A bombardment of Devil Treys suddenly had this untested, young Ranger team down by 4 points with 14 seconds to go ... Megan's 3, great team defense, and Logan's "buzzer beating putback" made the Lady Rangers 3-0! Way to stay with it Lady Rangers and congratulations to Coach Kenneth Chambers and team for a memorable game!
  12. In regard to the "elusive" Elizabethton vs Unaka game . . . they did play each other during the summer league 2005 at Crossroads Christian. The only starting player on both teams that wasn't there was probably Sallee Taylor of Unaka. Neither Coach Chambers or Weems were there (can't coach summer league anyway). The Rangers shot well and defeated the Cyclones by around 3 points. I know you can't judge by one game but everyone on here talks like they have never played "head to head". For what it's worth . . . here's my current (this week's) Carter County Top 5 as if they were playing tonight . . . 1. UNAKA . . . (Babb can post with anyone and they play with heart as a balanced TEAM with younger players coming on strong) 2. ELIZABETHTON . . . (because of "games under belt" experience & the Pietrowski Sisters) 2. CLOUDLAND . . . (beating Tennessee High is no small task & younger players rising to occasion) 4. HAPPY VALLEY . . . (Science Hill was 1st test but conf. games will show their toughness) 5. HAMPTON . . . (Lady Bulldogs will come together and push toward the top)
