  1. I find it VERY demeaning to the young ladies of Soddy Daisy, that the voting coaches would not at least place them in the top 8 or top 11. When in years past state finalist have been voted 1 thru 8.

    It is a JOKE, JOKE,JOKE.

These so called "knowledgeable" coaches ranked the other divisions by the way they have finished in the state Tourny and have done it for the past 4 years. But not this year??

I find YOUR EURO Rankings a joke...The young ladies of Soddy find your rankings a JOKE. And because Soddy was not ranked at all it does Taint your poll.

Why not rank Collierville #1. It's because Bearden beat them. Had Collierville beat them earlier in the year it still would not matter because Beaden beat them when it mattered.

I'm sorry guys but it like that old cheer....

    Nuts and bolts,

    Nuts and bolts,

    WE GOT SCREWED!!!

Pardon me....but maybe some people out there find it funny (just like you seem to find the eurosport rankings so funny) that a team was beaten 6-0 in the state tournament. It's not that big of a deal. They are just that...rankings....opinions. Soddy was fortunate enough to play in a state tournament and be in the Elite Eight. Be satisfied with your accomplishments.

  2. Prescott Named OAC Women's Soccer Player the Week

(AUSTINTOWN, Ohio)--Capital University freshman midfielder Paige Prescott (Murfreesboro, Tenn./Siegel) was named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week.

Prescott scored two goals last week with one in a 3-0 win over Marietta and another that turned out to be the game-winner in a 1-0 win over cross-town rival Otterbein last week.

On the season, Prescott has three goals as she has started all 16 of Capital's games this season.

The Crusaders are 11-4-1 overall and in second place in the OAC with a 6-1 record. Capital is home for its final two regular season matches this week, Tuesday at 4 p.m. against Muskingum and Friday at 4:30 p.m. against Ohio Northern.

Capital playing in the conference finals on Saturday...GO PAIGE!!!

gotta love paigey...i know we sure missed her bein around this year

  3. no just for the record brittney didn't open her mouth even after the ref had called that foul. the ball was at her feet and the defender was going for the back tackle and tripped. unfortunate but it calls like this happen more often than not in bigger games like this.

  4. How about teaching our players to have a little class out on the field? If that is not an option, how about instructing them to just keep their mouths shut. Just a thought.

Things don't always go our way on the field, or in life. What great opportunities to teach players this fact and appropriate responses. I'd rather run in that direction than lowering the bar and asking should an official give a yellow or a red card when my player chooses to use profane language on the field. Personal responsibility, what a novel concept.

Teaching class on the field wasn't the topic of discussion. The topic was actually when a red card should be thrown and when a yellow was applicable. The reason this topic is being discussed is because it is a serious decison for the ref to make that obviously furthur impacts not only the game at hand but future games esp. with the new two game suspension rule coming into effect this year. I honestly feel the red card should be used more to protect players from dangerous play or any sort of thing that would endanger them on the field. In many cases if it were up to me I would use the yellow for profanity unless it was excessive. Instead of putting all situations under on net solution in the end it's a personal call the ref makes. Even the classiest of players fall into inappropriate behavior sometimes...but more oftentimes than not that happens not because of a lack of class but because it is a two way street. It's easy to get stunk into what the opponent is doing and to resort to those tactics. Doesn't make it any less wrong or any more right. Just the facts. But yes we should strive to stay perfect and preserve our class on the field. Unfortunately no player is perfect.

  5. If your talking final score you are correct. As for the game itself, not so much. Cheryl only had to make two stops in goal and the ball was in the Riverdale offensive zone at least 70% of the game. Two wide open net misses and 3 headers just over the crossbar. But I'll tell you this, the Lady Cavs played one heck of a game also, so give them a lot of credit. #2 has a heck of leg and some of those free kicks could have created some decent scoring chances for them.

I'm sure some were surprised by the 0-0 halftime score of your game as well

Well the score at halftime of the siegel blackman game was 1-0. The cavs did play a heck of a game and i really would not classify the ball being in the rhs offensive zone 70% of the time. They tore up the middle third from my viewpoint but to each his own. Honestly doesn't matter too much as long as they advance i just figured they would have found a way to finish those "wide open net misses" and "3 headers over the crossbar" and that's all i was commenting on.

  6. yeah I know Iam glad I was not the only one to think that.

when is the Riverdale Siegel game anyway? not that I can go but just out of curiosity.

the riverdale siegel game is wednesday at siegel...can't say i'm not excited

  7. Oh Yikes! I hardly consider state semi-finals as going home early.

haha that's exactly how i feel reading over that post...but technically we did go home early...a whole 24 hours early to be exact

  8. Here. You can find out for yourself:

    http://www.eurosportscoreboard.com/cgi-bin...w&Season=07

You'll probably notice that they didn't fare as well when they played teams with winning records.....sound familiar?

thanks for that link....but rest assured i have the eurosportscoreboard on bookmark. no that doesn't sound TOO familiar Brentwood Academy and Ooltewah both seem to have winning records...just to name a couple. I'm sure you were happy to hear about the Blackman Riverdale game...congrats on that 2-1 win for Riverdale. Blackman really seemed to contain them in that game huh? have a good one.

  9. Cookeville has played Baylor, Franklin, Brentwood Academy, Beech, and Dobyns-Bennett, all teams with spots in mjub's top 25. They have a tough schedule, too.

Also, I believe they face Oak Ridge today or next week.

How many out of those that you just named did they win?

  10. if I recall correctly...your was 4-4 not too long ago....

you do recall correctly...but that was actually the record as of 9/12. At one point we were even 1-4-1....the point isn't about the records then and it wasn't really about it now. The point was to find out if i was correct not really put anyone in their place but i guess you've sure put me in mine /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

  11. I am aware of it. Were you at the game? It was the craziest 2-0 win I have ever seen. Ooltewah was looking for ways to give that one away. It was strange how bad they looked on that night and then how great they looked against BA. Had they played consistent they whole tourney they would have beat CCS 3-0, siegel 3-0 and BA 2-0. On the other hand, had they played all three matches like they played against siegel, they would have lost to CCS 2-0, siegel 2-0, and BA 2-0.

Ooltewah is still one of the best in state in my book. They just lack some depth that hurts them in tourneys or when there are injuries. It causes them to be up and down at times. But hey, that is why they play the game out. Watch out for them if they stay "up" come October.

Should be interesting to see how Ooltewah responds come region time and sub-state.

i don't really see what kind of fan can come on the boards with the whole "woulda coulda shoulda" routine. Ooltewah got beat friday night came out played well against BA and didn't? what can you say about that? what can any team say about their losses. obviously there's things to do better when you lose but that doesn't mean you SHOULD have won the game. if you should have won you WOULD have. OHS is a good team no one discredits that...but i don't understand how you can say they SHOULD or COULD have done anything and your very very right that is why they play the game out and come october the game against siegel doesn't count for much. if they win the ones that count it's all good.

  12. I am glad to see that the siegel Blackman was a competitive one. It sounds as if coach Vice has done alot with the girls team at Blackman this year.

Also does anyone have the 7aaa district standings?Whitey?

and when do Blackman and Riverdale make up their game or have they played allready?

Blackman seemed to be about the same as they have been in previous years past...siegel has had very similar scores from previous years...3-0 and 1-0 in '05 i do believe...they always play "competitively" never let a team embarass them. Vice has always done a good job in my opinion. The RHS Blackman game should be a good one. Riverdale will have to play tight. Blackman could pull an upset.

  13. ok back to the topic...

does anyone know anything about Warren Co.

Whitey hows this year looking for the girls?

i can't really see them going far and above their recent performance in the past few years unless they're gaining some new talent.

  14. Not that it matters, but Becca did have a hand in 3 of the 4 goals. She set up both of Soria's, Kirstin scored on a rebound off of a shot by Becca, but Hannahs game winner was all Hannah. Riverdale easily beat Cookeville in the regular season and never should have been down 3 goals. Cheryl struggled in the first half and usually stops shots that got by her that night. I also agree with the post about schedule weakness, but this year should be better with Franklin, Hendersonville, Soddy Daisy, Tullahoma and Shelbyville. Doesn't seem to be much love for the Lady Warriors on this site, not sure why unless everyone is a Siegel booster, but thats why we play the games. Should be an exciting season. Good luck to all the girls.

Not that everyone is a siegel booster at all but no one is going to sit here and argue what coulda shoulda happened in riverdale's games. Why they shouldn't have been down and why they were. Everyone recognizes riverdale's talent they have to prove they can win games against bigger competition which is all the other posters are saying. No one is trying to be a warrior hater...always great to have us and rhs in the state tourney and your right that IS why we play the games we'll see what happens huh?

  15. Does a players age factor and weigh more than the talent level she is currently playing with, for, against and HAS?

if we re speaking about a freshman....all i can say is your going to have to learn how high school ball plays out....although our team was forced to play with a bunch of sophomores and freshman my whole career and we were all put in the position to play alot and gain alot of experience as underclassmen that is very rare...there is not only the huge factor of age seeing as a freshman is quite a bit smaller and less experienced than the upperclassmen but the issue of team chemistry and leadership comes up especially with a keeper. i don't know who you were referring to or if you were referring to anyone but you might want to let your player whoever your speaking of prove herself at some kind of level with her team before you talk of her replacing a starter.

  16. I wasn't saying to play her. That's why I asked if you were talking about her because it's not such a good idea to throw a freshman into the fire. I strongly believe (or perhaps its hoping) that anna will be back for the season.

And I think we will play with the strongest team we can in the region. Thanks though. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

haha i'm sure sydney will step in and fill meredith's place nicely although i do know it will feel strange to not have meredith in there just because she has been there our whole career....we can all trust syd in goal 100% and i don't really think we could ask for anyone better to step in after meredith.
